As always GT500R......awesome post.....I look forward to all the testing you are doing.....LOL makes it tough to just watch, I would love to start testing some of these tunes myself. I guess Ill just have to live vicariously for now.....must be fun to run a sleeper like your edge, bet you surprise a few sport sedans...even the odd wrx.....I know even mine being stock I surprise a few people. Keep up the great work...great posts!

Rev limiter didnt for me....first gear I way over reved my first edge...by accident of course. Do you down shift to 1st and then with the 1 showing then take off....try that and Ill bet you can over rev it.

In manual sport mode you can over rev.....so it will hold until you shift(no auto shifting like in drive mode). It almost looks like 3rd gear is a little to tall(to big of jump in ratio)......still that is dam fast, certainly would get my attention! Thanks GT500R for all the great info and tests on the tunes......certainly helps when deciding to take the tuner plunge.....some of those numbers getting pretty close to the x5m and srt8.....that tune would certainly get the attention of someone with an srt8's. would love to see the look on some of their faces when the edge is hangin with them light to light....theyd be "WTF"!!!! It would be interesting to see what a meth kit would do for the edge....and some more tuning.

If that was the case, they would light up all the time(even on dry).....which never happens on dry road conditions, so as Vadimus said all 4 must be receiving torque or else they would be spinning all the time.

Yup.....My two edges had the same smell....wife said it smelled like burning matches.....it was completely gone within a few weeks. I had a feeling it was exhaust...because I use to race motocross and some of our new bikes would have that same smell and you could track it back to exhaust.

same here... if I take the tract control off, I can light all 4 tires up when it rains.....I cant imagine what the fwd would do with tract control off.....it would be a beast! My dad was very surprised that the edge had a true dual exhaust. It looks almost fake til you look under the edge. Guess he was just use to all the fake crap dual exhaust systems that GM puts on their vehicles....he had a fake dual system on their grand am, grand prix and their G6....funny thing is he and my mom are now going to buy an edge sport....I let him drive mine and he loved it.

LOL interesting....that first pic reminds me of when ford was inspecting our first edge for water damage.....I cringed when my wife showed me a pic of it in the shop....thankfully ford bought that one back and we were given a new edge sport.

Funny you mention the new RX 350 Fsport(they are a great looking suv)......I had one last week try to race me light to light. After the first block I realized what he was doing, so the next light we stopped at I thought I would give him a run....at the time I did not know how fast the new fsport was.....need less to say the next light to light race I played with him til we hit 60km/h(by then I could tell he was trying to race me) then I punched it and the edge walked away from the 350 like it was standing still.......all I can say I never get use to how much fun the edge sport is to drive.

To be totally honest.....I can not tell the difference between the 87 and 91....in both performance or economy. Ive owned 2 2015 edge sports now since the beginning of may 2015....so Ive had a chance to drive a whole month on 87 and an entire month on 91....and we now just use 87, because we really did not notice any difference.

My wife and I test drove a 2.7 MKX and I was very confused....with the added hp and torque I thought it would have been quick, but compared to the sport it was quite subdued. One of my tests was acceleration from 60 kph to 90kph....the sport would hit hard and pull like a beast.....and the MKX was un-inspired...it pulled ok, but did not incite any adrenaline rush like the sport.

we test drove both.....the ride quality between the two was minimal. My wife and I decided on the 20" rims as we both liked the look better than the all black 21".

yup.....had the tail gate open as well.....my wife tells me she can open the doors with gloves on.

10 for 10 here....no issues unlocking as long as the key is in your pocket. I tried this...and it just locked my car....nothing else.

The ribbed section is the area you touch to lock the door.....so my guess is depending on how your hand hits the handle in theory you could unlock the door and then when your thumb hits the ribbed area it could then potentially lock, thus giving the illusion that the unlocking system is not working. When I have ever unlocked the door, I never get any hesitation.

Drive train is the 6f55(very tough)..and they have been pushed well past 500 hp and still seem to hold up....now engine internals is the million dollar question, my guess is its going to be very tough with the CGI block!

LOL....looks like a little go-cart....but hey, if they work who cares....its winter time....and besides, 18" winter tires are priced much better than the 20" ones. I would have went with that option had I been able to find an appropriate affordable 18" rim.

I was expecting more road noise.....but Id say its pretty minimal (almost imperceptible) compared to the stock Hankooks......which are really nice and quiet.

from what Ive read about the two, the biggest difference is the density of the multi cell compound.....it sounds like the DM-V1 will wear quicker....there are minor changes in the block edge surface and 3D sipes. Im sure the DM-v1 will be a great winter performer.

Ahhh .... ya I missed that.....We have the DM-V2's......and its a very very good winter tire.

Nice.....best I could find installed here in Canada was 300 per tire(OK tire honored the 1010 price list price) ...including all the tax.....the blizzaks even at 300 a pop, were well worth the piece of mind that it gives my wife.....you know how the saying goes..." happy wife, happy life"!

Wife and I have had two 2015 ford edge sports......first one we purchased in may leaked...so ford was really good about replacing it, and now we are on our second Ford edge sport, both are identical other than the new one has a inception date of July 14, 2015.....and it does not leak. We are extremely happy with the Edge....and have no complaints thus far.

Congratulations......I know that my wife and I love ours....she now refers to the(the vehicle that I commute with) 2006 torrent as the POS....LOL I told her the edge has spoiled her. I too heard lots of negative reviews on the MFT, but I love ours.....we rented a 2015 LTZ tahoe and the Nav/display system was crap compared to the MFT.

Those tire chains look nasty.....LOL mad max meets ford edge sport.
