  1. we have a fwd torrent, and with winter tires is ok, there are still issues when we get dumps of snow greater than 10"....so this time around we made sure we bought an edge with awd.
  2. I believe the 2014 was 5x114.3 and the 2015 5x108.
  3. Thanks for the great post....great info!
  4. my guess would be that as long as there are two barriers on either side, then the system should see that as a parking space. I be careful of any items like bikes or lawn / garden equipment along the walls. The ability the edge has to parallel park is way beyond my ability...it has parked in spots I would never try in a million years...and yet it pulled it off effortlessly.....Very impressive to say the least!
  5. My wife and I use the sensors and park assist all the time.....every day for her cause she has to park in a tight perpendicular space everyday for work, I use it anytime I parallel park. The sensors in the new edge have been deadly accurate.....great for parking lot navigation and cross traffic.
  6. ROTFLMAO.....Thats me!!!! My wife knows me too well, thats why she insisted on the PC Esp for 6 years and 120,000km. Same here...it drives me nuts when people drive under the speed limit....Pet peevvvee in the extreme.
  7. yup...thats the one....and lets face it, when you jump in a sport its hard to drive it "Normal"...for a guy who hasnt had a sports car for 20 years, I find the power to be quite seductive!
  8. In the manual (pg 459) it says " 5000-7499 miles (8000-11999 km)" for severe use. Which I would say is logical given the nature of the turbo charged engine, stop and go driving....and lets face it, when I drive it....I get my monies worth out of the turbos....not to mention the -55 to + 30 temps we see here in canada.
  9. I dont wait for the IOLM to change oil....I keep my own service/mileage log. Yes...big time. I actually demand to hang around while they do the oil change and watch what they put in it and all the checks they preform......15 years ago I had that exact thing happen and never again will I be so trusting with my engine!
  10. I have the dealer perform the oil changes(they use the synthetic blend 5w30).......and then I inspect the dipstick just before they close the hood and call it done. Ford recommends every 8000 km but I prefer to error on the side of caution and change it every 5000 km.
  11. My brother learned the hard way...." after every oil change you do not perform yourself......double check the oil levels!!!!!" He has a wrx that he soon learned after a dealer oil change that they only put one quart in......two weeks later he started geting check oil and check engine lights...went to check the oil levels and the dip was dry...he then needed to put in over 4 quarts just to bring it up to level.....then about 2 weeks later his engine blew up.....he was lucky in that his wrx is still on warranty.....moral of this story is to always check your oil....I check mine after every second fill......and I change oil every 5000km.
  12. Thats crazy!!!....major respect for that undertaking!
  13. With those kind of numbers.....you might be starting to knock on the Jeep SRT8's and the BMW x5M. numbers....very tempting, the only issue would be longevity, and is it worth it to void the warranty....it certainly would be a killer sleeper CUV(it already is as far as Im concerned......LOL just smoked an RX8 early today)...after 4 blocks the guy looked at me like...."what the hell"!
  14. Nice...any details on what is being tuned...timing, mas, boost pressure....ect....and Im assuming this is all with stock intake, inter-cooler and exhaust.
  15. Naaaahh. ..power loss would be nil. Buddy of mine has 350z with a 76mm procharger that vta....the sound is addictive. I was also wondering what impact a 50 to 100 shot of nos would have on the 2.7.
  16. Lol...... Would love to get my hands on a vta bov.
  17. This is what I use for my edge(all application is with a microfiber towel): For dash and interior plastics: Sonax Dashboard Cleaner Matte For the leather....Sonax Leather Foam Cleaner and Conditioner For the micro swede: SONAX Upholstery & Alcantara Cleaner For the Carpet: Chemical Guys Fabric Guard SPI_210_16 Just plain Windex for the glass.
  18. There is no header on the 2.7 the turbos are mounted directly to the block. I've looked at my exhaust and nothere are some restrictions around the cat....my buddy at light speed figured you could get a 15 to 20 hp gain with better exhaust. ....but again that could void your warranty.
  19. very strange.....from the time we notified our dealer to use picking up our new edge.....was 30 days.
  20. Edgy....that in my opinion is totally unacceptable.....so what are they telling you is the hold up? Sorry to hear that you still have not had a resolution to this problem.
  21. I dont think so.....if there was Im sure ford would be using that in their sales pitch.
  22. 18's will work....make sure you get the stock offset tho....problem Ive had is trying to find the bolt pattern in a steel rim. Seems it does not exist, so Im looking for cheaper alloys in an 18"....Ive also entertained the idea of using hub adapters, but again the problem would then be the offset.
  23. they actually brought a vehicle from 130km away at the request of ford to find something comparable.
