I replaced the restraint control module last November, put about 3000 miles on the car since then and have had no problems. The car has not been driven until I returned to Costa Rica last week Nov 1, and still seems to be ok. But now I have an ABS control module failure, and a power steering pump leakage according to my mechanic. Always an expensive problem with this car. Don’t know if it’s the heat and humidity on the west coast of Costa Rica. Or the fact it’s sits for long periods of time.

I have the same problem, finally after years found a code pointing to the RCM. Did you replace it and was the problem fixed?

I have a 2012 Edge, and this on again off again starting problem is driving me crazy and the dealer, who's had it for a week now for the second time and still can't replicate the problem. So he wants me to pick it up again and see if we run into the same problem again. We already replaced battery, the ignition switch, and a relay, each time the on again off again starting problem returned. I would like to know more about that exposed wire under the carpet fixing the problem, which could be what I might need my dealer to do. How did they ever figure that out? I have so far seen three problems like this but no clear fix, other than the posted here.
