3m 03618 adhesive remover should take it off. Amazon.com has it for $11.15. Goo Gone takes off the white adhesive, 3m for the white or black adhesives. (If you use Goo Gone, leave it on for a half hour or so.)

After reading this I checked my owner manual. It stated that the xmisn fluid should be changed at 60k.

Key FOBS usually transmit on 315 mHz or 434 mHz. It could be something in your home or even nearby home. One trick is to hold the key FOB near the receiving antenna (usually located near the radio antenna). May be able to override the interference. Whatever it is, is broadcasting on a continuous basis on one of those frequencies. Look for a home wireless weather station for starters.

Like Paul said. I reset mine each time I fill up.

Any chance you might have put in a high temperature thermostat?

Sounds great. What brand did you use?

Isn't that covered under sync services? Thought there was a monthly payment for this. -

2012 edge rear view camera problem
enigma-2 replied to my 2012 edge's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
If you touch radio or any other function, it should switch off and on the other function. Camera is wired to power whenever the car is in run or start and is switched in the HU. If you want it to switch off as soon as you put it in drive, I believe you would have to rewire the camera power into the backup lamp circuit. -

The modern starting system is very complicated and is involved with several related systems. Condition Possible Sources Action The engine does not crank Battery Fuse(s) Starter motor Circuitry PCM Starter motor relay Ignition switch Start diode Anti-theft system Principles of Operation The starting system is electronically controlled by the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS). PATS is controlled by the Instrument Cluster (IC). PATS recognizes the correct electronically coded ignition key and the IC will send a message to the PCM to provide a ground for the starter relay. The energized relay provides voltage to the starter solenoid, thereby allowing the starter motor to activate. Normal Operation Under normal operation, constant power is supplied to the starter motor relay from the Battery Junction Box (BJB) fuse 41 (30A). When the ignition switch is turned in the START position and held, with the vehicle in PARK or NEUTRAL, power flows to the starter motor relay through CDC35 (BU/WH). A ground is supplied through circuit CDC12 (YE) from the PCM causing the starter motor relay coil to energize and the relay contacts close. This allows power to be supplied from the starter motor relay contacts which then flows through circuit CDC25 (BN/GN) to the starter solenoid. The solenoid is grounded at the starter motor. Energizing the starter solenoid will engage the starter drive into the ring gear and closes the solenoid contacts allowing power directly from the battery through circuit SDC02 (RD) to the starter motor to start the engine. Pinpoint testing has checking the battery first, then checking for any any DTC codes. If you get a P1260 code, its related the the antitheft system. All other codes are covered in the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis manual. If no codes were recovered, troubleshooting then checks the PCM sensor (transmission range sensor to see if it's showing the transmission is in park and/or neutral). After that the starter then the power control. My guess is that it's possible that either the relay or diode is opening when hot. (Diodes are known to fail when hot).

All of the power outlets are hot at all times. Perhaps the battery just reached its full charge point.

Why would you want to put film on your headlights? That would drastically cut the amount of light for you to see with on the highway. As for the variable darkening film, it comes in two grades of darkening. Problem is, it never really gets light or dark enough. Don't know if this would work but seen a video on YouTube about using auto film that darkens with electricity. Flip a switch and instant dark.

ProClip USA Console Mount Question
enigma-2 replied to ExNascarDood's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Mine cuts off part of the airflow from the vent. Maybe the phone might block a control or switch. (?) -
Actually, it would no problem for the dealer to connect his scan tool to the vehicle's Vehicle Communication Module and read any DTC's stored from the last fault. I doubt you would find any $10 parts in the HVAC system.

The procedure is detailed in your Navigation Manual: 1. Press the PHONE hard button on the navigation system. 2. Select the ‘Settings’ tab on the touchscreen. 3. Press ‘Advanced’. 4. Select ‘Vehicle Health Report’. 5. Select ‘Automatic Reports’. 6. Enter the desired setting. Once you have turned on the automatic report feature, you can then choose at which mileage intervals you would like to be prompted to run a health report. 1. Press the PHONE hard button on the navigation system. 2. Select the ‘Settings’ tab on the touchscreen. 3. Press ‘Advanced’. 4. Select ‘Vehicle Health Report’. 5. Select ‘Mileage Interval’. 6. Select the desired mileage interval setting. When the chosen mileage is reached, SYNC will automatically prompt you and ask if you would like to run a health report. You can then accept and SYNC will send you an e-mail with the information or you can choose to have SYNC remind you later.

Vista Roof Motor Replacement?
enigma-2 replied to sixponies's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Just though I'd mention that service manual states to use rubbing alcohol to clean the groves (I use a Q-tip dipped in alcohol) and then lube the rails with silicone spray. (Never use grease or the like,) Small amounts of PTFE Lubricant or Silicone Spray Lubricant is permissible to use as a means to reduce friction and improve moving glass panel operation. -
yup. Service manual states use rubbing alcohol to clean rails and silicone spray to lubricate.

Answeres for all Audio/Video questions
enigma-2 replied to Vfords's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Why not run a self-diagnostic test on the unit and see if you are throwing any DTC errors? On my 09 MKX it's entered by holding preset buttons 3 and 6 for 3 seconds until the speaker walk-around test begins. Before the speaker walk test is complete, press the "End Test" selection on teh touch screen. The screen will change to Bezel Diagnostics and you can choose which tests to run. (Assumes you have navigation). IF you don't have navigation, buttons 3 & 6 to enter mode, press button #1 after the speaker test begins and it will start the ACM test. If errors show up after the test, you can review them by pressing button #2. Button 3 is the AM/FM Antenna Signal Strength, button 4 displays software levels for various components of the audio system. Knowing the software levels probably will not aid in diagnostics. Press the TUNE UP button to scroll through the software levels. Button 5 is the Display Test, button 6 retrieves the ACM Part Number. Button 7 ejects the warp core and button 8 drops your oil pan on the garage floor. (last two are undocumented). -

Ever consider using aftermarket? Much (MUCH) cheaper and can be moved to a different car when you sell. Check out this one for example http://www.amazon.com/XTRONS%C2%AE-Screen-Headrest-Player-Monitor/dp/B00J5CEJTM/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1432826371&sr=8-12&keywords=headrest+dvd Amazon has dozens to choose from, most come with three different color covers and the posts are adjustable in width and have bushings to adapt to different size holes. (Each plays independently, no connection to head unit, but they can be connected to both play same movie or game if wanted). Believe wireless headphones, controllers are available as well.
