  1. Does your car have a Sirius receiver?
  2. I have one of the older units with a hard drive. Is it just songs or can one dvd's as well?
  3. The Silverstar zXe bulb is more for appearance (bluer). The Silverstar Ultra is a better bulb for seeing. (The zXe was designed to mimic the color temerature of HID and the intense blue actually reduces your seeing ability - blue focuses at the wrong part of the retina than redder light). I put in Ultra's for both low & high beams, well satisfied. Like to see a comparison between the Ultra and the Nighthawk's however. Here's a link where Ford discusses night vision and lighting: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.nhtsa.gov/DOT/NHTSA/NVS/Public%2520Meetings/Presentations/2004%2520Meetings/Farber.pdf&ved=0ahUKEwiSyIb-9rnJAhVC6CYKHeCSCsIQFggbMAA&usg=AFQjCNEkCvk-AIEvinLfYIhAF2z7TUbFGA&sig2=Xyzt857Q7T2IUV5iu2g3dA
  4. If your looking for just emergency chains to carry should you get stuck, and can be used on aluminum wheels, look at these: http://www.amazon.com/Zip-Grip-Go-Cleated-Traction/dp/B009M6TXLU
  5. Here's a good article on sizing based on clearance. http://www.etrailer.com/faq-snow-tire-chain-comparison.aspx#Clearance
  6. Curious that it's reading okay below 65 but not above. Wondering out loud... if the vibration was wheel balance, would that be enough to cause the sensor to stop reading? Or do you believe that the sensor itself is causing the vibration at speeds above 65?
  7. Ford is dodging. I had to replace the booster on my 20 09. (Was covered under extended warranty).
  8. There are two recalls on the 08 for fuel tank. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchResults;jsessionid=hC1XWbfJYh2jk6H2yTPGLMt2tSHgLJk0LcNC2rpC1V3wCfQ1T8m8!1016641107?searchType=PROD&prodType=V&targetCategory=A&searchCriteria.model=MKX&cmplCount=10&rclCount=1&invCount=0&tsbCount=5&activeTab=0&stats=325631%2C2%2C2%2C49%2C10%2CMKX&makeStats=&jsonBaseURL=%2Fdownloads%2Ffolders%2F&searchCriteria.model_yr=2008&searchCriteria.make=LINCOLN&searchCriteria.prod_ids=325631&submit=Go In reading the 08 & 09 recalls, it appears that they overlap, running from 2006 to 2010. Looks like they finally included the 2009 & 2010 models (for one of the recalls, they must have changed the design between the 08 & 09 models).
  9. You are correct. I d/l Edge manuals & looks like _only_ the 2015 requires one to disconnect the battery.2012, 2913, 2014 & 2016 read like my 09, just run 5-minutes after 6 hours. Another reason to pass on the 2015.
  10. Interesting. How would a H9 work in an 09 MKX? (Wouldn't want to throw glare into oncoming traffic ).
  11. Just don't forget to throw a couple of newspapers on top of the mats to protect them. 'just kidding' LOL. You will find, like the rest of us have, they are the perfect solution to road salt and winter slush.
  12. Although the multifunction switch is an integral part of the circuit, I would suspect either the wiper motor or the motor connector has corrosion on the terminals. Try operating the washer and see if it works (circuit runs through the motor). If the washer circuit works, pull the motor connector and check for corrosion. If it doesn't work, suspect the motor (contains several electronic components, besides the motor, any of which could be failing. The washer also runs through the same electronics.)
  13. I had a simular problem inasmuch as there was so little clearance. I ended up using a crow's foot socket to apply enough force on the socket to get it to turn. I used a 7/8", fit just tight enough to get a grip on the socket. Made it "much" easier to remove and replace.
  14. I switched to Silver-star's. Prefer the "whiter" light with excellent brightness (for halogen).
  15. I have an 09 MKX and don't know what has changed in the 15. So why are you disconnecting the battery? Owners manual simply states run engine for 5 minutes before towing each day and after 6 hours (to recharge battery).
  16. 2013 Tl of all payments:$276x2x12x6= $39,744 Tl of Interest: $276x0.065x2x12= $2,583 2015 Tl of all payments:$290x2x12x7= $48,720 Tl of Interest:$290x0.0299x2x12x7= $1,457 Anyway, as you do a lot of driving, if it were me, I would go for the 2015, with its newer technology and warranty. (Assuming you can afford the extra cost of the payments). Here in Indiana, we would also have to consider the additional cost of 7% sales tax and excise tax imposed on the license plate. Don't know what additional taxes you have to consider up north, but would need to take these into consideration as well.

  18. As the H9 doesn't have a blacked out tip, wouldn't it cause more glare for oncoming traffic?
  19. New Edge running down the street, kind of reminds me of "Pig Pin" (from Peanuts, always had a trail of dust trailing behind). (Maybe I shouldn't have posted this).
  20. Been discussed here before. 2007 head unit is not adaptable to incorporate a camera. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/1624-factory-nav-backup-camera-input/ There are still options such as an aftermarket head unit or wire it to a LCD rearview mirror. There is one other option: http://avelectronic.com/NavigationVideo%20Camera%20Interface.html
  21. FREDLUKE posted in the Lincoln forum that the QC found problems in a few cars and as a result, all cars produced in that run are placed on hold, pending inspection. There are 7 items (called campaigns), ranging from leaking A pillars, parts fit and finish, things like that. Said 99.25% are fold free of any of these problems, but they are still finding that some cars still have quality issues. http://lincolnmkxforum.com/topic/560-mkx-order-to-delivery-times/page-9?do=findComment&comment=2639 (Last post).
  22. On addition, I would also check the axle inner C/V boot to see if it's damaged (loosing grease).
