  1. Actually there is, sort of. Called Mirror Tap. Harness that basically pushes into the mirror connector. Quick and easy. I have my Escort Passport II radar detector powered through one. Switched power, stays on after you turn off the car. Powers off when you open the door. Search on Amazon.com.
  2. Wonder if the side bumpers are worn, allowing a looser fit of the hatch in its opening?
  3. Great job, that reality looks professional.
  4. Mine has the THX system. Have no idea what enclosure is in there.Dennis
  5. My 09 MKX doesnt have any rattles. What year and model are you driving?
  6. $150 actually, at least that's what I paid.
  7. I like no. 1 as well. Single owner, same dealer, they know the car, and owner probably babies it. Warranty or extended warranty a must.
  8. I'm curious, anyone here owned an older MKX which had a THX and now owns a 2015 or 16 which has a Revel system. The Revel is touted as a much better audio, but in all honesty, how much better?
  9. What exactly is a "management" valve?
  10. Still good information nonetheless.
  11. Ahhh, you got Edge demons. There used to be a preacher on TV that could pull the cooties out of poop. Seen him heal a young boy, blind since birth. He was short, fat and had no neck. Think his name was Earnst Anglie (or something like that). Bet he could have got those demons to leave. Hope they find it and a simple problem.
  12. If you would like to read a side-by-side comparison between the Edge and MKX (believe this one relates to the 2012, couldn't find for 2011), click this URL http://www.beachautomotive.com/blog/whats-the-difference-between-the-ford-edge-and-lincoln-mkx/
  13. Never noticed this in mine. More than enough power.
  14. I'd pull that puppy immediately. When they get old, they carry mold, mildew and spores. Easy and cheap to change, takes about 5 minutes and costs $6-$12. Need to change about every six months or sooner. Don't need to breathe that crap. Esp. in a closed environment like a car (which is already the most polluted environment we get into every day).
  15. Seen those, but some of the reviews state the two products don't do any better than otc products.
  16. I have an 09 fully loaded and you will love it. My wife doesn't like the seats (she liked my Sable seats better). Without question, get a certified vehicle if you can (may cost more of course). I also strongly recommend you got the best extended warranty you can. A couple of thousand up front "could" pay back in dividends over the next few years. Mine has paid back about 70% so far and I still have a year+ to go. If you want driving lights, have the dealer turn them on as part of the deal. (Normally they are not turned on unless it was a fleet vehicle or in a state that requiet DRL). Have them check to see if all the recalls have been completed. (My 09 has just had two new recalls pop up this month and better to get these out of the way before you take delivery). Last piece of advice is to read through the forum and see what everyone else has had problems with. The 2011's are not without their problems (as is every car). Great vehicle (esp. when loaded with all the goodies). Wish mine had a heated steering wheel!
  17. Where did you connect the power lead to connect to delayed power? Reason I ask, I'm thinking that it's not the negative connection thats causing the problem (simply completing the circuit), rather the pos lead is shorting the radio signal. Does this just happen on FM or on AM as well?
  18. Although it's a long shot, you could pull the cabin filter and see if there's any mold or organic material causing the smell. Is there any possibility that the HVAC case drain may have become clogged and developed mold or mildew? Are there any special conditions where you smell the odor stronger (such as when idling or at highway speeds). Does it change when you run the heater or AC? Is it less if you switch to recirculate? Have you sniffed near each wheel assy. (thinking of bearing grease bad and the like).
  19. Great information. I cleaned my Weathertech last spring with Dawn and water. But left the mostly clean and dull. I'll try vinegar and water next spring.

  21. No, no, no, no, no. Duct tape. What kind of auto mechanic are you anyway? Everyone knows electrical tape isn't permanent.
  22. Had a simular problem on my 09 MKX. Took it to the dealer and it turned out to be a broken vacuum hose located on the back side of the engine. It took about three hours to replace as they had to pull battery tray and some other stuff.
