  1. Yea, it would indeed be a super pita to rework all those song headers, but I don't think there's any other way. The system is set up to sort the headers in alphabetical order. One other thought, if you were to go back and wipe the headers (time consuming as well), the system will read the playlist titles and play those in alphabetical order.
  2. This was covered in a separate question from the Ford Sync forum. http://fordsyncforum.com/topic/1381-setting-up-the-usb-flash-drive/ BTW, the Ipod Classic 160's are still being sold (new & used) on ebay.
  3. Sorry to hear this. Guess any sun and sand in the air is tough on cars. Back here, its not the rain, its the salt the road crews pour on the streets to melt snow. I Googled "auto body repair in UAE" and got several hits. Looked on Facebook for Dubai and got dozens of hits, one had 39k likes. If it were me, I would get an estimate from a shop like Mr. Cars Auto Maintenance UAE or simular (they are the ones who had 39k likes).
  4. This work well. The foam tends to get into all the nooks and crannies. (And we all know how hard it is to keep one"s crannies clean). http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0007PHD0S/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1463008208&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=Lubegard+heater+core And here's a youtube video on how to use: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi22mdXj3wM
  5. Q. I know the CD player will load a CD with the engine off, will it eject one as well? Wondering if the CD is stuck and trying eject?
  6. 20k may be a little excessive. Ford recommends 20k only if your off-roading on sand in a hot climate. 30k would probably be safe for normal driving. A senior mechanic at my local Ford garage told me 90k for normal driving (even though Lincoln does not have a recommendation for my 2009).

Google "lemon law" and your state. The laws are different state-by-state.
  8. I would say it's all realitive to your situation. Is the body rusting out? Interior still nice, or showing definate sings of wear? Engine smoking? If it's still good overall, 100k is nothing for a modern auto. My 09 MKX at 92k still looks and runs like showroom. (Ok, maybe not, but she's as close as you can get for 92k miles). Point is, if your happy, don't want car payments and after investing a grand in fixing her back up will conceivably get 3-4 more years of reliable transportation, then I would say, absolutely. A new one will cost you over a grand just for plates, full insurance, excise tax, sales tax, etc. Granted, nothing beats a new car, but .... a car is transportation first, and a luxury second.
  9. Actually it's a good question. Washing the roof is a challange, especially if your short(er). (And by the time you hit you late sixties, you're going to be shorter. lol) I grown tired of hand washing; when I do I usually fire up the ol pressure sprayer and make short work of it. But only for the wife's convertible as she refuses to run it through the car wash. As I wrote earlier, I run mine through the local car wash every week. Gets detailed every other year, but that's starting to get a tad expensive. On my wife's Sebring convertible roof, I use a 3-step, step stool I bought at Costco. Light, easy to lift and move and tall enough. Has a nice plastic shelf that folds out to hold the soap bucket, too. Pressure washer makes short work of it. Foam the car down with soap, let it set and then power rinse it off. Finish with a gallon of distilled water sprayed on using the soap dispenser, and no water spots.
  10. Just out of curiosity, have you checked the tightness of the front lug nuts?
  11. It's kind of like a balloon pressed down on a flat surface like a tabletop. Press too hard (more load) and it flattens more on the sides (more wear on the edges). Inflate it too much and the center makes more contact, less on the sides. I should also have mentioned that running over-inflated causes road wander, your always having to correct the steering to stay straight. Properly inflated and you have the most tread on the road, making the car run straighter. The rating on the sidewall of the tire is the maximum inflation pressure permissible for that tire and should never be exceeded for long.
  12. Unless you're carrying a full load, I would keep it at whatever the sticker says. Over-inflating causes the tire to ride up in the center tread and it will cause more wear to occur there. Not to mention it will hydroplane more easily, give a rougher ride and easier to lose traction on gravel. There's a reason the manufacturer puts that rating there.
  13. Ask them to show you where it's stated to be a "maintenance" item. In no manual I've read is this drain listed as something that should be checked. Drains on the underside of each door, yes, but not this drain. And if it "is" a maintenance item, why didn't they check it during the periodic maintenance visit?
  14. Can you switch to heat? If not, my thinking runs along the line of a failed control.
  15. I'll second that. That website is a mess, designed by a second-rate programmer. It exits only to sell you a new car or show you stuff that doesn't fit your car.
  16. Don't know how to turn it off, but you can disable it by unplugging the microphones.
  17. I'll hazard a guess as possibly tie rod ends.
  18. I have an 09 MKX with AWD. You're going to love it in the snow. Even though there are more mechanical components involved, and the more parts involved, the AWD isn't anything to be worried about. Just have the transmission and transfer case oil changed at 60k and it should be ok. It will take a small hit on milage, 2-3 mph, but buying a luxury car to begin with your not worrying about the cost of gas anyway. How are the tires? Figure about a grand for new tread for decent tires on an AWD. Nice car, love the white, looks really, really nice in the sun. Appears that it was well taken care of. Congrats again.
  19. What did you order vs. what did they actually send? Although you felt the substitution was not what you wanted, would you consider the substitution to be of equal value?
  20. Should be part of the home screen. Try calling Sync support team at 888-270-1055 weekdays.
  21. Standard on Titanium and Sport. On home screen, "settings" key on your home screen, touch "vehicle" and "ambient lighting".
  22. Local car wash, every week, ultimate is $18, takes 5 minutes looks great, and has all the good stuff, tire shine, wax, Rain X, drive away dry and shiny. Screw the hours of washing, buffing. Good enough.
