  1. I would not have rejected a good deal because of 1400 miles. Salesmen drive the vehicle (need to learn the car in order to sell it), possibly driven between dealerships (the use retirees to do this, cheaper than putting on a trailer). Not too much especially if they offering a good deal. (Shrug).
  2. Great presentation, goes a long way to explain why some people are able to fix with WD40 (or whatever you care to use) and problem comes back. I've never had the problem on my MKX, but I did on an Sable I used to own. (WD40 fixed that one). But if I ever develop the switch hanging up, I'll try this. Thanks for posting!
  3. Do you have to have your smog level tested on an annual basis (leading to modifying the tune changing and take the emissions settings out of the acceptable envelope)?
  4. You need to replace the lift cylinders. Mac has a video on how to do this (super easy).
  5. Amazing, never seen a vinyl wrap before. What color was it before?
  6. In the cargo well. (Did I rad this wrong?)

Click on my link (above). 22", OEM, $600/wheel.
  8. 2013 and later MKX gets roadside service 24/7 for the lifetime of the car. 2007-2012 gets 6 years/70k miles. After that it's on a per pay use. Does anyone know how much the cost is to use the roadside service after the warranty runs out?

The two grand is the price for one. Did you check out trierack.com ? Nice selection at fair pricing.
  11. Fairly common complaint across all car brands. Here's one answer to the problem; cold weather. https://www.cars.com/articles/2014/01/most-backup-cameras-dont-like-bad-weather/ If it doesn't clear up in warmer weather, need to have Ford service look at it. May have to replace the camera.
  12. One area nearly everyone forgets about is the spare. It's supposed to be changed when you put on a new set of tires (or every 6 years). (from the owners nanual) "You should replace your spare tire when you replace the road tires or after six years due to aging even if it has not been used."
  13. True enough, but what's clear when reading other forums is that many people have serious problems with the modern seating. Some are forced to seek medical attention for their problems. While my MKX is ok, it's definitely not as comfortable as my Sable was. My wife hates the MKX seats, and truthfully, I find I end up sliding around on them whenever I make a turn. I would say that the seat comfort is the biggest complaint I have with my MKX. On a scale of 1-10, I wouldn't give more than a 3. Edit. I'm sorry fellows, I meant to type a 6, while I'm not completely crazy over the seats, I'm not dissatisfied. The leather is slippery and mostly flat. They're confortable enough, but no where as confortable as my Mercury Sable was. And I tend to slid around on them when making a turn. But I would still rate then 6 or even 7 for comfort. My Sable were probably 9, pushing 10 for comfort. And they were cloth which meant they were warmer in freezing temps and fairly cool when it was roasting out.
  14. What, you have no windows in your house? LOL
  15. Mine doesnt. Two front windows open + bamr pop, and no close. Think the purpose was to vent car after sitting in sun for several hours. If so, global close would be unnecessary.
  16. She's on your Facebook picture & she was in at least on of your videos (forget which one). I agree completely with your reasoning however. I was really paranoid while my daughter was growing up. Worried when she went off to collage, taught her some of the stuff I learned in boot camp. Turns out some punk jumped her in her freshman year in a dark area of Purdue. Like dad taught her, she kicked him in the jewels, palmed his nose and walked away. He didn't. Those who have never been a dad will never know the real meaning of what it means to sacrifice.
  17. I read in another forum where someone else was having an identical problem. (Only hapoened when starting out and turning left). Turned out it was the transmission drive chain. Think it cost him $1300 but different brand of car.
  18. Automobile seat comfort is probably the biggest complaint commont to all car brands. Honda's have probably the largest following of seat haters, BMW's are known for hard seating as well. One type of seat cushion that will make all the difference is the air filled or gel-filled wheelchair cushion. Designed for people who still have feeling and are pinned to a wheelchair permanently. Expensive, but very confortable.
  19. Here's where you can buy the correct Ford tool to remove the power point socket. https://rotunda.service-solutions.com/en-US/Pages/ItemDetail.aspx?SKU=501-039 Instructions: http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/KE/kennyz1963/2013-05-23_125607_powerpoint.pdf If you can gain access from behind, you can remove it without tools. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Cjfv67DiZNU
  20. On my OM it states that the battery be disconnected on servicing the high amperage fuses. I imagine that this is because should the circuit is shorted, a high amperage fuse would get super hot as soon as it was replaced. A 20 amp fuse covering the power points is no worse than the 20 amp fuses in the interior panelbox. Under the conditions stated (wants to remove a working power point - no short), I wouldn't hesitate to just pull the fuse
  21. I had a flat couple of months ago. Put on the spare and stopped at Sam's Club. They repaired the tire but we're not certain it would hold as the nail was right at the edge of sidewall. He was telling me that should the tire not hold air, they didn't carry the brand (were not purchased there) and they would have to replace all four. Asked why and he said that on my AWD the tread has to match. Differences in tread would cause problems with the stability system when driving on ice.
  22. The protector on my 09 MKX was put on when new and still looks good. (It has had the usual wear and has only a couple of small scratches, hardly noticeable unless your looking really close). In a few years every car will look older and normal wear really will not stand out appreciably. Suppose you could use a good paste wax to help it resist scratches.
  23. Don't know about the 2015, perhaps it just snaps in place. I would be tempted to try pressing on the front of the lens and see if it snaps I'm place. Otherwise, best to run it back to the dealer.
  24. No. I failed to see that he had a 2015. Ever since Ford went to LED bulbs, the assembly is no longer user accessible. Best to have the dealer do it ((under warranty).
