Jets are smaller on modern carbs. Jet still clogged do to Ethanol gas ( most likeky). Pour in "Sea Foam",run it until it get into the carb,shut off and let it sit for a few hours/day (let Sea Foam disolve the clog) and the start again. Should run without choke. If not, you will need to disassemble and clean with carb cleaner.

If your considering buying at a Ford dealer, ask them to look up and see what previous service has been performed on this car. Xmission oil change at 60k, that sort of stuff.

Well winter is nearly over (been in the 40's lately) and I need to clean my floor mats. Never really got them back to showroom last year, wondering what everyone else uses. I'll be spraying them down with a gas pressure washer using a 25° tip, and std soap. Any suggestions?

Alot of these panels are just press fit into place. I would be tempted to put a lot of force on the area lifting up to see if just snaps back into place.

Lincoln just notified me that they are ready to begin inspecting all of the 2009, 2010 MKX vehicles for fuel tank corrosion. Here is the text of the postcard I got in the mail: "In December 2015, The Lincoln Motor Company mailed you a letter announcing safety recall 15S31 regarding a potential issue with the fuel tank on your vehicle. Parts are now available to repair your vehicle. If you have not yet contacted your dealer to schedule service for this recall, please call your dealer without delay to schedule an appointment. At no charge to you, your dealer will inspect and either clean or treat or replace the fuel tank on your vehicle."

Gasoline with a high sulphur content car smell pretty rotten until you get through it. Comes and goes, could have been what you pulled in through the AC. Not that I noticed.

Kind of sounds like the same problem that the guys with the intermittent shifter, had. Ah but once this is fixed you are going to have a great car.

Kind of sounds to me, as if it isn't recognizing the chip in the key. Wonder if re-coding both keys to the car would help? (Certainly can't hurt and doesn't cost anything to try).

I've read a lot of horror stories about Armor All drying out vinyls and leathers, causing cracking and hazing. Read somewhere that it's only recommended for use on tires. (Doesn't really state use on dashbiards, etc.) They DO make a leather formula and made a major change in the product couple of years ago, lot of complaints about the new stuff. Guy who does detailing for a living told me never to use this stuff, and if I so, never stop (something about the stuff in it causing it to draw all the moisture out of the vinyl and leather and causing damage when exposed to sunlight). I haven't use the stuff since the 90's. Be interesting to see what the pros in the detailing forum think of it.

Which area of the instrument cluster is it coming from? Perhaps someone else here has a simular problem and it was an easy fix. FWIW, I've had rattles on every car I've owned, except for my current 09 MKX. Some I just learned to ignore and some drove me nuts. Fused around until I found and fix it. Any possibility that it coming from outside the car (engine compartment or exhaust system) and being interpreted as coming from the instrument cluster?

If you read the full Warranty, its easy to see how Ford could indeed rule that the enhanced tuning was the cause of the failure. Its certainty possible (if not probable) that Ford would look long and hard to find any excuse to deny your claim if they even suspected tampering. (see last sentence below). Yea, after I watched it, went out and followed the installations shown by the kid in the video. Craccckkk. Next stop was at NAPA for a new wiper. Your screwdriver trick works like a champ. :-}

I took mine apart and took the speaker out. Nice and quiet. So much better."

Any possibility that this might be the O2 sensor instead?
