  1. I believe that the recharging kit contain both a cleaner and a renewer. The renewer is needed to re-establish the electrostatic properties of the filter. This is a major part of the filters ability to kill mold (which will build up over time.)
  2. I believe that both the Continental Winter Contact SI & Blizzak DM-V2 tires are directional rated tires. Because you dismount the tires each spring and remount them in the fall, make certain you are observing the directional arrow on the sidewall. These tires should always rotate in one direction only. (Front to back and back to front on the same side of the car, never across.)
  3. From my own experience in the past, the contract costs more after the first year. I would give the business manager at your local dealer a call and talk with him (or her) about the cost; both now and later.
  4. I'd be willing to speculate that it the computer was not throwing any codes (as she had related), that possibly the dealer had ran up a large labor bill in checking everything, just to be certain he had covered all possible causes. What would one expect to pay does to replace a throttle body at a Ford dealer?
  5. What risk? There's no risk. You give them your money and they deny all claims. No risk at all.1
  6. Could always do what I do, told the neighbor kids I lost a quarter between the seats and, if they could find it, they could keep it. There were two, a 9 year old and a four year old. They came put with a little over $2! Like having human vacuum cleaners. Pull out the glove box and have one of your grandkids or neighborhood kids look for it. Offer a chocolate bar and you'll have the little bugger back on no time at all.
  7. As for the moonroof, you could try a re-initialization procedure. It might be possible that it's closing just quite tight enough. Been discussed here many times, here's a link http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/7572-how-to-fix-ford-edge-sunroof-problem/
  8. Let's see now, the 2118 MKX? I imaged on the psychic-net that the 18 was finally going to get the hover conversion and folding wheels to provide thrust. Adding the optional Mr. Fusion power generator and the base price will probably come in around 1.2 mil. Oh wait, your asking about the 2018 MKX, not the 2118. My bad. (Lincoln probably hasn't finalized the design yet.)
  9. Just as an afterthought, most Ford dealerships will price match any reliable competitor prices. Could get a price on tirerack.Com and then see what your local dealer will offer. And Ford is offered a rebate up to $140 on tires if you buy certain brands and put it on your Ford Credit card. Two advantages, one is the rebate and the second is no charge for credit if paid off in a year (OPM). Just have to make minimum payments. Worth considering.
  10. HA! I've got an 09 MKX that will kick your a¤¤ and spit you out sideways. Took me 1/2 hour to remove the driver's side. Some jerk on the Lincoln design team decided that 1-1/2" was plenty of room to change that bulb. Can't even get your hand on the back of the socket; had to use a crow's foot socket to loosen the lock ring.
  11. Not to mention higher temperatures. Wonder if the H9 bulbs would burn the sockets or glass over the plastic lens sooner?
  12. I always get a 4-wheel alignment when I change tires. Just got new tires and the alignment showed caster was off. Tires were not wearing abnormally but it does track a little better now.
  13. I didn't realize that. Thought that it was standard on all Edge's & MKX's. That's one feature I would miss, never knew it was an option on these basic models. Just to clarify, you use the key fob to pop the latch and then lift the tailgate up to say half way and it continues all the way open by itself?
  14. You didn't specify the year, here is a link for the 2009, change if your car is a different year. http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/PartDetail.aspx?n=spXkL7B3GeJw71D9ISAevQ%3d%3d&id=400320874&m=2&search=true&year=2009&make=Lincoln&model=MKX What exactly did you mean by "fell behind the trip"?
  15. Do they even offer a non-powered liftgate?
  16. I would suggest possibly the SD socket my have possible corrosion. Before taking to dealer, try unplugging and replugging in the SD card to see if this breaks the film on the connectors. (Doesn't cost antthing.) If it works, try using some dielectric grease on the SD card pins.
  17. Nice! What was the temperature?
  18. Using a MirrorTap on my 09 MKX, Back to the sticky mount for the Escort. I posted addl information on which mirror pins wored for my 09-14. I don't know if they changed in the 15. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/17043-wiring-cable-to-rear-view-mirror-in-2014-sport/
  19. No, the POI database is a proprietary, separate part of the navigation map updates (can be purchased separately.) You could run a separate app on your cellphone or from one of several websites that track such information.
  20. Needs to change the struts. Easy to do, takes only minutes. Heres a Youtube video from mactfordedge on how to change. He used Monroe, I prefer Motorcraft (but they cost more.) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CqnmfIjmoqo
  21. Oem cameras are selling for $340-$360 on Ebay. Don't think that it would be too difficult to replace.
  22. Does really sound like the HVAC control module. Could be programming. Read the following series of posts: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11725-dual-climate-control-repair/
  23. If you have ambient lighting, is it turned on? (Pg 399 of the OM).
  24. I'm confused. Are you saying that it opens ok, but does not close when the temperatures are cold? (Closes ok when warm).
  25. It takes me to the correct page. Try it again.
