  1. I have a 2020 Edge ST and while vacuuming the rear carpet behind the drivers seat, I found the carpet was very wet. Checked all obvious causes (window not shut completely, bad door seal), and seemed good. I decided to pull the door sill plate and take a look at the extent of water under the carpet. The insulation was soaking wet and the foot well under it had about an inch of water in it. Next I ran some water through a hose on the roof, got inside, and looked to see where the water was coming in. As expected, the door and window seals were good. I did find LOTS of water running down the aft side of the door still. It was from somewhere behind the interior side panel behind the L rear door. I removed all of the left-side interior panels behind the rear passenger seat and found water flowing in at several places. See the pictures with yellow and red circles. The water was NOT coming in from around the window seal, but rather from some openings from the inside body panel. On the roof, I checked for debris in the rails from the sunroof and along the edge of the plastic side panels. Found they were clear but just in case I did use compressed air and a weed trimmer line to clean what I could not see. Nothing came out. It’s obvious I have a hole or crack in the roof under the rear side plastic panel which I cannot see from the inside. I took the headliner down to see if I could visualize any issue, but the interior body frame blocks any view of the exterior body in that area. This is where the rear side airbag curtain is housed. I’ve read about drain holes aft of the sunroof slides, but could not see anything or get a weed trimmer line in there. I’m going to head down the path of removing the plastic roof side rail but asking anyone on this forum for advice on how to remove them. A previous post had a similar problem and there was a link to the service manual for a 2016 Edge on how to remove. The removal steps seemed straightforward. If I do remove it, I know I’ll have to order new plastic clips. Unfortunately, I’m out of warranty and my dealer, which is very large has never seen this before. I’ve read some other posts on a roof leak and side panels but really no findings or resolution. Of course, we’re getting monsoon rains this year in Minnesota.
  2. I have a 2015 Sport that I'm going to be towing a boat with that weighs in at 2400 pounds including the trailer and fuel. I've read most of the posts about towing with this model and I know the maximum recommended weight is 2000 pounds. I have talked with many dealers and not one can give me a good answer on why the capacity is so low. Certainly not the HP or torque as they all agreed on. Some believed it was the lack of anti-sway, some thought the transmission was not designed for heavier loads, some said a tranny cooler would increase the load capacity others did not have a good answer. My question is if anyone has trailered something around this weight and what your experience was/is. My trips to the launch are under 10 miles each way with maybe a longer 100-mile trip a couple of times a year. Appreciate the feedback. Love the vehicle, hate to get rid of it because of this. Dave
  3. I have a 2015 Edge Sport and I need to remove the interior hood latch handle and its a no-go. I removed the center cap and there is no screw to hold it in place. I tried to use some force behind it and it would not budge. I also called at least 6 different dealers and they had no idea either. Thanks in advance.
  4. Installed new battery and same result. On the dash only the odometer and the speedometer backlight stays powered. If I restart and do another shutdown it will completely power down. I’m wondering if a re-flash on one of the ECU’s might be in order.
  5. I've had my 2015 Edge Sport since new and in the past few weeks twice I've had a dead battery after shutting the engine off for a half hour or less. . I would get a jump and it would start right up. I knew something was draining the power but I could not identify what it was. Yesterday I think I found it. When i press the engine start/off button with my foot on the brake, gear selector in park, the Sync screen shuts down as well as the instrument cluster but the odometer stays active. Then I saw the driver alert pop up telling me the engine was running when it wasn't. I got out of the vehicle, shut the door thinking this cycle would shut all remaining power. It didn't. Got back in, started the vehicle then went through the same routine for shut down and it did not act up. Could use some help on where to look for possible causes.
  6. Same year and wheel size and yes same flaking issue. Anyone have good options on how to refurbish to match original? Only one wheel is flaking.
