  1. I got my AWD 2008 Edge Limited on the 3rd of March this year. We had a worst snowstorm in decades on the 5th to the 6th. I took her out for a drive and it ran better than my Landrover Discovery with snows!!! These tire are the first set on a new vehicle I have NOT replaced right a way. The Edge had better control & traction than most vehicles out there. The dealer said they had no problems with these so far. Although I am not in the snow belt, Toronto did get a lot of snow with ice. Edge ran sure footed in my experiance.
  2. Waiting for Glenn to get back to me ... he's out of town. Jaak
  3. Give Wayne Morris a call at WhiteOak Ford (905) 281-4614. He seems to be the only one who looks to what the Customer wants. I have been to many dealers and finally got mine through him. He cares and will ensure you are looked after. They may be on Mavis Dr. in Mississauga ... but as the saying goes "It's worth the drive ..." Feel free to use my name ...
  4. Mine went easy ... did it in my friends shop (Porsche Garage) with the assistance of their staff! This helped. Glenn ... it's yours!!! PM sent
  5. PM sent ... Guess you get first right of refusal seeing as you were interested a while back. Glen gets second crack! Jaak BTW ... it is exactly as depicted in the photos. It has not been used, I did go for the Ford one. It's just me.
  6. Went with the 18" painted on my Creme Brule ... looks nice!!!
  7. Well ... it's STILL up for sale!!! Seems no one is interested ....
  8. Sorry ... was on 2 weeks vacation. Yes, they can be removed as they are held in place with 3M two-sided tape. A bit hard to get off ... but can be done with a hair dryer.
  9. IIRC the Canadian Models have more standard features than the USA models. Options that the americans pay for are standard on CDN units.
  10. Looks like it is ... and it's someone in your state! He is moving and will get back to me on Tuesday. Thanks for asking, Jaak
  11. I open the BAMR to vent position and dial in the auto temp. Also set it to recirculate as well. It gets cold within 10 to 15 minutes .... It helps to open a window a slight crack (if no BAMER) as the air flow will be greater ... without it open, it's like trying to blow into a paper bag. Vety little air flow after a minute ... there has to be a good airflow to maintain coolness!!!
  12. I have this one. May meet your needs for a cargo liner. http://www.leevalley.com/garden/page.aspx?...&cat=2,2180
  13. I have had it happen at least three times. The only time it happened is when I opened the door before the seat moved fully back. To remedy it ... I moved the seat forward a slight bit and then hit seat 1 button. It started to go back to the correct settings when the key is put in the ignition and position 1 is selected. I end up doing this once in a few months so it's not really a big issue for me.
  14. Mine works fine. It uses a 3M tape to bond to the door frame. Doubt it will damage the paint. I have not tried to remove it ... although I have on other vehicles in the past with good results. Just don't use a scrapper to remove it with. Use a hair dryer ...
  15. Since I'm on a Porsche Forum as well (I have one), I have copied some responses from users of car transporters for their porsches: Jaak ******************************************************************************** ************************************************************************ 1. Demoise Trucking, Bill and his brother Larry are the best value I could find, more expensive than DAS yes, but you're getting horseless carriage level of service and they know how to handle porsches, transport for PCNA. Impeccable service for me when I just shipped my car back east. The biggest things to me are how the cars are strapped down, and whether your shipper underpromises and overdelivers or vice versa. Many shippers will tell you they strap down through the wheels or even on the "Axles" which really means suspension members. One will mar your wheels beyond belief and the other can simply destroy a 911s handling permanently. Demoise and other shippers who specialize in sports cars will strap around the tire's circumference, which is the safest way by far. On top of that, DeMoise is a real family outfit, has real integrity. There is a lot of value in the premium you pay, and considering the prices charged by shippers offering similar levels of service they are comparatively inexpensive. Insured, enclosed, safe. If this is your car, give them a call, can't recommend them enough. 2. I'll second the vote for giving Bill DeMoise a call. Competitive pricing and closed carrier. Just used DeMoise in December to transport my 993 from TX to MI. Open transport wasn't an option. 3. I just used DeMoise to transport my 928 from Los Angeles to Atlanta and was very happy with their service and pricing. They picked up the car four days after the arrangements were made and delivered the car to me in Atlanta just five days after that - and this was over Thanksgiving. Excellent service and both the driver and dispatcher stayed in constant contact with me for the trip. My 928 arrived in perfect condition, no worries whatsoever. I'd highly recommend them. http://www.demoise.com/ 4. I had a similar experience as Mark did but with Intercity. Only negative is that they will move the cars around ocassionally and on more than one ocasion I've heard people complain of dead battery by the time the car arrives to you. I had this problem as well, otherwise they were great. I wouldn't recommend DAS, I and many others have had bad experiences with them. 5. My GTS was just shipped via Intercity with fantastic results. I have personally used them, Exotic Car Transport and Thomas C. Sunday all with good results. I have also used VIP Transport, they tie the cars down with chains over the axles. 6 months after I got the car I replaced the left rear axle! Whatever you do, do NOT use VIP or DAS. DAS is a broker and they will take your car to an impound lot or a wrecking yard until they find a truck for it. Depending on how far they haul it, the car may end up in several impund lots b/f you see it. Make sure that any carrier you use ties the cars down with straps over the tires! Hope this helps.
  16. Here are the photo's as requested. As laid on the bumper cover Box it came in
  17. After the Edge ... the Flex is next ... just because of the length & rear view camera ...
  18. Yes ... will ship to California. I will look at my invoice and get back to you. Should be less than what I paid for it ... and I do accept USD :yup: :yup: I will get back to you this evening ... at work.
  19. Saw the Ford one ... not too bad, although the Flex one is better. May look into that one via friends Porsche Shop as he has contacts at several Ford dealers ...
  20. I would prefer to get one that I don't need to "adjust" ... just my train of thought ..
  21. I will be selling mine as it just did not fit the curve of MY bumper cover. It seems the "curve" on the outside edge is about a 1/4" less than it should be on the ends. If I lay it on the bumber cover and align both ends to the outside edge (rear of the bumper), the center is about a 1/4" in from the rear edge of the bumber cover. I am in Canada (Toronto) .... Edit: speeling mistakes
  22. Looks good Just a note ... need more paragraph breaks in the write-up ... my eyes ...
  23. Look at the improvements in the first post. V 4 IIRC was a few years old. Just need to compare the totals on that DVD with the V7 to see the difference. I work with Geo-coded Base-maps and one of the suppliers to Navteq (in Canada) had made a substantial data upgrade (streets etc.) in the past year and a half. Between V4 & V7 would be great. Well worth the upgrade IMHO ...
