  1. This is what I found on the internet so far... (from here: http://www.fordflex.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13965)
  2. Does anybody have an actual picture of "Too Good to be Blue" or Lincoln's "Allure Blue"? According to some vendor they are the same color: http://www.acttestpanels.com/uploads/documents/Certified_Ford_Color_Form.pdf
  3. The SEL apparently only has "projection" headlamps. The Titanium 302A has HIDs. So I am assuming the loaded titanium has a cooler color.
  4. Oh and don't forget that it can also perpendicular park for you if you can't figure out how to do that.
  5. I think the "staggering" only depends on when they start manufacturing the 2016 model. For example I know the 2016 MKX is is coming out in a couple months. The 2016 Edge will probably be in Q4 at the earliest due to the late release of the 2015 model.
  6. I can also agree this sentiment. The Titanium V6 is definitely a little sluggish. It only has 240 lb/ft of torque... Don't get it if you want awesome acceleration. The only benefit over the 2.0 Ecoboost in my opinion is cheaper repairs down the road.
  7. are fog lamps really still necessary with today's narrow beam projection headlamps?
  8. Thanks for doing the "slow" MPG test My wife drives slow in general and it'll be her car. So I am excited to hear that you got such good mileage going 55mph.
  9. I haven't driven a car yet that SOMETHING electrical didn't break shortly after the 36,000 mile mark... And they're all expensive to fix. It sucks, but there's a reason the warranty is only for 36,000 miles. Statistically it is no longer economically viable to repair the increasing number of failures under warranty. This sounds like a serious issue. And yes it should be fixed, but $500 is not too bad if that includes labor. My throttle body position sensor failed at 34,000 miles after 3.5 years. It was not covered under warrranty and it cost $800 to fix including labor. The throttle body has an integrated sensor so it all had to be replaced. The fix included removing two bolts and disconnecting an electrical harness. The fix was super easy, but it was the dead of winter and it broke in the middle of the week and I had to get to work the next day. So I had to pay nearly $300 in labor. It sucks, but this crap happens.
  10. Yeah I had seen the media beating up on Ford in the last couple years on 2 fronts, one the 1.6L in the Escape being recalled so many times and two, less than advertised mileage across the board on the Ecoboost and hybrid models. I think C-Max customers even received a refund after litigation. I would hope that Ford took all these things into consideration when designing the the new 2.0L. I'm excited to hear what your 60MPH test shows. I'm hopeful!
  11. There are some divided highways (not interstates) that are 55 along with 2-lane highways and country roads. I don't know how far out you have to drive for the limit to increase, but all the interstates surrounding Chicago are 55. Of course, almost nobody drives below 65 on them. I'm sure the drag co-efficient on the Edge is much higher than that of the MKS. The speed limit seems like a minimum, I agree. But the EPA rates highway based on driving the speed limit. I am not sure if they do 55 or 65 though. I still think 23.4 is great for a larger SUV going 80
  12. 24mpg and averaging about 80MPH, that is something to write home about! Highway MPG miles should be significantly higher if you stick to 55-65MPH. Wind resistance increases exponentially at increased speeds. Considering the work that the engine must be doing to maintain 80MPH, I'd say 24MPG is impressive! Thanks for the review.
  13. The ceramic interior looks great! I'd be all over that if I wasn't planning on using the Edge as a family hauler!
  14. I test drove one. I can't believe how many features they do pack in the Titanium considering it's not a "luxury" brand.
  15. I test drove a black titanium with the cognac interior and 302A package. It definitely came with all the bells and whistles. I liked the fact that it had a 120V outlet in the back seat. The cargo room was more than I expected considering how steep of a rake the rear window has. I really really didn't like the fact that the headliner was light gray and the carpets and door panels were black and the seating surfaces were brown. There were too many colors. However, it's up to my wife to decide if she can live with it. I like the leather color, I just wish Ford would've made the headliner black. I am not a huge fan of the button style on the center console. They're definitely functional being round and depressed in the middle, but it doesn't look super modern. It's more conservative. However, functionality comes before form in a family hauler. So if I had to chose the new buttons over the capacitive touch buttons, I'd chose the easy to find and feel buttons that don't require you to take your eyes off the road. Leg room is truly impressive. With the front seat all the way back, I was able to fit in the rear seats with the door closed. It was a tight fit, but that's a feat considering I am 6' 4" with long legs. The front seat went back further than I was comfortable with so It should be comfortable for people that are much taller than 6' 4" The V6 acceleration wasn't anything spectacular. I am hoping the higher torque in the 2.0L ecoboost will improve on this a bit. We're looking for mileage, not performance though. So I suppose I shouldn't expect much. I am spoiled though because my car is a coupe with a 6.2L V8 with engine mods. So take my review of the acceleration with a grain of salt. The exterior looks impressive from the sides and the rear. The LED tail lamps and light bar really stand out. The front looks like a lot of other SUVs on the road, but there are some nice details in the headlamps that make it look a little sharper. cargo area (click to enlarge): rear end: V6 engine: headlamp detail: 120V outlet: 3-tone interior

  21. If it makes you all feel better, my battery is in my trunk under the floor mat.
  22. It drives me nuts with the cognac interior... It may be enough to make me just buy black leather. I mentioned it to the salesperson and he said now he can't get past it and he is sad that I mentioned it to him because it bugs him too now that he noticed! I didn't really notice until I got in the car, but the brown leather just doesn't feel right with the off white headliner. A black headliner would've made it all look perfect.
  23. I think it would look great with deep impact blue too!
