Any problem that leaves water sitting inside the cabin in serious due to water damage issues. Imagine accelerated rusting, moldy carpeting, electrical shorts... My guess is that they would've resolved this at the factory by now since there is a TSB out for it. So I wouldn't worry if it was recently built.

I'm really sad to hear this is happening. I think somebody said it's limited to the Sport models, Honestly, this is one of those problems that would make me never want to buy the brand again. Water damage is the worst. I'm still planning on buying the Edge, but it's a shame that such a big issue was missed. I hope it's due to a faulty part and not a production issue (eg: they never tested water tightness)

nice mod! -
I saw that ad today on TV. I think it was on the Today Show...

2014 sales were especially weak. That's what happens when you announce new products, customers stop buying the old one.

I use the Gorilla Lock system: http://www.gorilla-auto.com/ They are used heavily by people with custom forged wheels and have been around for a long time.

2015 Edge - First Year Model Problems?
cab2g replied to alzakx's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
oh wow, that's about the most annoying problem to have in a brand new car. Nothing ruins your driving experience like a musty interior. I can't believe that such a huge seal issue would pass inspection. It sounds like people's floor mats are soaked, that can't be from a pinhole sized leak.- 37 replies

2.0 and 2.7 Ecoboost torque at lower RPM, curve or data charts?
cab2g replied to ono's topic in EcoBoost Mod & Tech
If you're comparing the 2.0T to a turbo diesel, you won't even come close I haven't seen an officially published torque curves for the Edge yet. You might find one for the 2.7T for the F150 if you look online. -
Here's the latest information I could find about production start/end dates for 2015 models... Most are stopping by 4/24 but the Edge still has a TBD stop date. http://www.donlen.com/buildstart-trucks-ford.aspx

I don't know for sure, but I am 99% sure that they are different. The last generation was based off of a Mazda platform the new version is based off of the Fusion platform. I am almost certain that the suspension would've been re-designed to improve ride quality in the new Edge.

2015 Edge Sport interior
cab2g replied to Wedgeamatic's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I think most people want black because it wears well. I have a light interior on my current car and I have to scrub the leather regularly to keep it looking nice. Black looks black no matter how much dirt is ground in. -
This picture was taken when it was cloudy. So the green doesn't really show up that much. The picture is completely color neutral without any casts though. So that is pretty much what it looks like on a cloudy day. In general I'm not a huge fan of colors that are so subtle that you can't tell what color it is... It looks nice in sunlight though.

Here's the Edge in Guard for anybody that is still wondering....

recall
-
I know that in general people don't come online and say that everything is working fine, so that skews how prevalent issues are. However, if this has happened to two people already, I'm guessing there's going to be more than just a TSB down the line.

2015 Edge Sport Lane Assist
cab2g replied to built2prfctn's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I really think the issue is micro-sleeping while on the highway during trips. There are very few people, even responsible drivers that haven't done this before. If there's one technology that you should rant about, it's perpendicular park assist. If you can't park in a parking lot without a computer, then you need to go back to driver's ed. -
The bad part about doing a tune without upgrading engine accessories and/or internals is a drop in reliability. Any car with a factory turbo can easily be tuned to increase HP and torque. However, all the parts that are connected to the engine somehow are not validated for the higher specs and may wear faster or even malfunction completely. I mean if it were me, I'd still do it, but I'd research the weak links in my power train beforehand.

That's the one thing I hate about most automatics. When you hit the gas, the car normally hesitates to down shift. But then again, I bet an automatic Ford GT doesn't have that problem
-
Well it's hard to blame you for driving fast if you had to go 1800 miles!
-
I totally agree with this.

lol, you'd think they'd have had wind of the impending recall a couple months ago before they started shipping the 15s... I mean they are a large corporation and I'm sure it took awhile to even finalize the paperwork for the recall...
-
I would hope that Ford would've figured out the optimal shift points in Sport mode to get the best 0-60 time. However, they may have tried to balance performance and overall fuel efficiency even in sport mode. So maybe you can get better times with paddle shifters. But just have a spare set of rear tires on hand while you practice

I just got that. lol

Like their representation of the cognac interior color??? vs reality:
