My delivery date is estimated at Jan 22-28 with a build date of today.

looks like it. My guess is that they haven't finished the localization for all the EU markets yet on the Sync 3 system.

I can't fully answer #1. For 2016 they added more noise isolation in the glass according to the order guide. For #2, you really can get the majority of the tech in the SEL unless you want self parking and adaptive cruise/steering. But it really depends on your must haves. The Titanium has a bunch of nice visual upgrades such as ambient lighting and the LED tail light ring. It also has heated rear seats and air conditioned front seats, HD radio with 12 speakers and different leather color options. You get to save a thousand or so dollars by equipping a SEL with 201A + tech + utility + sunroof compared to a Titanium with 301A. So that's a deal if you don't care about the appearance upgrades of the Titanium. for #3, again it all depends on your vanity. If you like showy wheels, get the 20 or 21. If you are all about saving a buck or two and avoiding curb rash, get the 18 on the SEL or 19 on Titanium.

also, TrueCar.com has not started listing 2016 Edges yet, but you can get an idea of the advertising fee if you configure a 2015 model. It is included in the "regional fees" row.
-
That's about right. My advertising fee was somewhere around $690 and my MSRP was around $42,000

Difference between the model year 2015 and 2016 Edge Titanium
cab2g replied to luvford2's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Well in their defense, I'm sure they got a whole lot right. I am just a very detail oriented person and I don't know if many other people would have noticed or escalated the issue. Hopefully your sport comes as advertised. Just an FYI, if you add 301A to the titanium, it shows inflatable seatbelts as included as part of the package on the build and configure tool. This is not the case. So yes, they have some work to do to clean up their process. -
Why are Canadian and US options so different?
cab2g replied to grumzy's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Also, the more configurations you allow, the more errors crop up during manufacturing. Can you imagine how hard it would be to install and verify hundreds of different configurations? They used to do that, look at all the colors and "unique" options offered by collector cars. Ever see those "only one of X" sales pitches? That's because they allowed people to build their vehicle however they wanted no matter how popular the option was. In the end, it led to production quality issues because all those options could not be tested individually for reliability thoroughly and once assembled, they couldn't be easily validated to work well together reliably. There has been a push for decades to reuse common parts between product lines. The main reason for this is for reliability. The secondary reason is for cost savings. In the same thread, reducing the number of options allows for more thorough testing of less options, which increases reliability. And the secondary benefit is they can increase the net profit on per vehicle due to bundling options. -
Difference between the model year 2015 and 2016 Edge Titanium

Official and final update from Ford: The 2016 Titanium cannot be ordered with Suede. I found a 2016 titanium on a dealer lot. The window sticker said suede, but there is only leather seating surfaces. The window sticker is in error. Ford Chat was in error. -
Yeah, Europeans also get fancy LED accent lighting in the headlamps that is not available in the US/Canada because it makes the edge look too much like the Lincoln MKX... I'd love to get a diesel option here in the US as well, most US consumers could care less though.

I'm pretty sure the truth is that they make more money when bundling together options than when selling them a-la-carte. Can you imagine if you had the opportunity to buy just the 5 cable channels you wanted? Do you think you'd be paying anywhere close to the $100+ on average that people are paying today? Same goes for options. Most people don't care about half of the options bundled with one that they do want. Some people love ambient lighting but don't care about having a garage door opener because they park outside. Others love that garage door opener but could care less about that foot well lighting. But if you want that foot well lighting, you have to pay for that garage door opener too. More money for Ford. -

I wonder how this is different from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Looks like Sync 3 will support all three then? -
Android auto and carplay being added to sync 3

Honestly, I wouldn't put too much stock into those sites. If a major auto blog or news network makes an announcement, I'll believe it. I was reading blogs like those for clues on when 2016's would come out. Now I'm pretty sure they just put keywords for upcoming model years to drive traffic for ad revenue, the articles I read ended up being inaccurate. -

Difference between the model year 2015 and 2016 Edge Titanium

I feel like the most impatient person in the world, but I asked the Ford chat again and got another representative... They again confirmed that Suede comes as an option in the Titanium for 2016. I wish I'd get the same answer from everybody though. Please wait. An operator will be with you shortly. Sabrina says: Hello. This is Sabrina. How can I help you with your build today? CB says: Hi Sabrina, I have a question. It looks like in the titanium edge with 301A, if you get ebony leather, the preview changes to indicate suede inserts. but there is no mention of it in the feature list Sabrina says: We appreciate your interest in the 2016 Edge. I'm pulling up your build now to take a look; one moment please, CB. CB says: The preview looks the same as the sport model, and different from the preview if you get just 300A Sabrina says: OKay, thank you for the clarification. I'm checking out the build now; hang tight. CB says: I was confused because I saw a window sticker for a 2016 titanium with 302A and it said "suede" CB says: http://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?token=4QxiaY4223soQr%2FOJ1C5j3KNd0aSgOnCtnvrCkZY4HAVeFbAecmVQu3SynZcGM5AIxBr%2BbojGuxaNwXqDjRNZVC%2FhQtKc6iLu31u9coJxwLje9xzUPneFVyNmhfiFkUyAdzxV08GAUA0U9FINsYhA4G%2Bclp1aYm0sqHWU1TvAwk%3D CB says: this window sticker with 301A also says suede: http://www.windowsticker.forddirect.com/windowsticker.pdf?token=oYDJlcnExBB%2BIitP%2F5GkAq8sAx2VmzB6iqVYwOI2hUrp37TVeN8%2FxFhhnuLoG9aDtEMgmqJ%2FBbgT6oZOFSO7Pd1HxJqXW35r4wKXSkxPyEwY%2FQjjg3EAh%2BT0JErWTMhfocy9TPcMcteEoT88MO0UP4DzMcY%2FUYp8XoOpgr1JXCA%3D Sabrina says: The 301A and 302A equipment groups include Perforated Leather-trimmed Sport Seats. This may the change you're seeing when selecting either the 301A or 302A groups. CB says: I see that, but the window stickers for only 2016 models show suede, that is not the case for 2015 models Sabrina says: I'm not able to pull up those window stickers. Are you able to provide me with the VIN's for each? CB says: 2fmpk4k81gbb03029 Sabrina says: Thank you. Let me check that out. CB says: 2fmpk4k88gbb03030 CB says: the build and price tool for 2015 does not change the preview when you select 301A like it does for 2016 CB says: here's a 2015 VIN 2FMTK4K90FBC06089, the window sticker does not say suede Sabrina says: Okay, thank you for all this information. It'll be a moment while I review everything. Please hang tight. Sabrina says: I appreciate your patience while I continue to look into this for you. CB says: thanks Sabrina says: You're welcome. Sabrina says: The 2015 Titanium Edge comes standard with Leather-trimmed or Perforated Leather-trimmed with contrast stitching, when choosing the 301A or 302A equipment group. The 2016 Edge Titanium now offers Perforated Leather-trimmed Seats with Suede Inserts, when choosing either of the groups mentioned above. Do you like it better with or without the Suede? -
Why are Canadian and US options so different?
cab2g replied to grumzy's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I'm not sure why, but almost every car in the US forces you to bundle a ton of options together. In my Camaro I had to bundle heated seats with summer tires. There was no option to opt for all seasons if you got heated seats. akirby is right, it's mostly about what they think customers are willing to buy. In the US cars are a lot cheaper than in Canada and most other countries due to taxes/exchange rates etc. My first guess is that more profit is built into the base pricing of the Canadian Edge than the US Edge. To make up the difference, Ford forces you to buy more options at once to pad the profit margin. Then again it could be that Canadians simply don't buy cars with bundled options historically. Most Luxury cars in Europe are sold with manual seats in the base trim because Europeans see little value in power seats. Americans on the other hand seem to think that it's easier to hold a button for 10 seconds than it is to use your legs for half a second to pull a seat forward or push it back. You won't find a single german luxury car in the US sold without power seats for this reason. -
two have been listed as in stock on inventory.ford.com for the dealer closest to me for over a week. One's window sticker was generated on 12/16, the other on 12/15. From what I hear, your car is typically built a week after the date on the window sticker. ETIS confirms that they were both built on 12/21 and 12/23 respectively... There has to be somebody out there that has a local dealer with a window sticker generated the week before production started on 12/15. There's a chance that one of those cars from the first week is actually in stock unless they're on a quality hold.

Android auto and carplay being added to sync 3
cab2g replied to jacorob's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Well I can't imagine MSRP going up $500 unless they make some other changes. It's better than what GM gives. You only get 6 months of free onstar then the cheapest plan is $10/mo.... I'll take free for 5 years and <$5/mo any day over GM's deal. That's even if they increased MSRP by $500. -
It only takes a couple weeks to get from the factory to many dealers. Production started on 12/15. Including the holidays, maybe one or two have made it to dealer showrooms. I've been searching youtube and google images. I haven't found anything yet.

Android auto and carplay being added to sync 3
cab2g replied to jacorob's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
the biggest catch is that if you buy it as an accessory you pay a couple hundred up front for the modem and then $50/yr for data. It will be free for the first 5 years if you wait until the 2017 model year. But as things go, there will always be some new feature in the next model year. If you keep waiting until the next new thing comes out, you'll never buy it. I've used the onstar system on and off and really, there was one time I needed to unlock my car remotely and I never needed to start it when I was out of the range of the key fob. I suppose if you work in a large corporate office, remote start over the internet may be nice. -
I think it's pretty cheesy that the 2015/2016 EB HP and TQ numbers are using 93 octane but the EPA mileage rating is using 87 octane. I mean nobody is buying the 2.0L for maximum performance, but it's misleading to use 93 octane in one case and 87 in another case and have them as published figures.

the locks are free and are dealer installed. you should get both the locking and regular lugs. So if you don't like them, no harm done. They're free too right?

Difference between the model year 2015 and 2016 Edge Titanium
cab2g replied to luvford2's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
You know, this could be solved very easily. Anybody that works on the factory floor could walk up to a 2016 Titanium and look at the seats. It's not like it's confidential information! I've been scanning the internet for dealer inventory of 2016's I will probably see a picture online of a 2016 Titanium pretty soon. -
