2011 Edge at 90,000 Km had the same "loss of power". Took it right to the dealer within 2 hours, but couldn't get any codes-because the engine was turned of and on. How can Ford say it is not a safety issue "because the power brakes and steering still work" Don't get me started.
So why is there a recall for the Throttle Body on my sons car-a 2012 Fusion-and not mine? All discussions seem to lean toward replacing the housing. After 6 days of infrequent driving, It happened again. I called 13 dealerships in the area, and no-one could look at the problem for another 6-10 days. So they want me to continue to drive this thing which could "die" at any time?
I called FORD customer care- and they were TERRIBLE. A supervisor finally did call me back- I was not able to speak to them at the time of my call. It was out of her hands-citing it was not company policy to have a car rental-or contact a dealer to have this problem looked at sooner. You telling me corporate FORD couldn't call the dealer to see if they could ask the dealer to call around their customers to reschedule some call.( They were hit with the Escape steering recalls). Maybe offer a free oil change to whom was willing to give up their spot. Or be creative. Make this customer HAPPY. My wife just had major surgery and I couldn't even use our car to pick her up at the hospital (I had to borrow my sons Fusion). Corporate FORD- you guys really dropped the ball on this one.
