The dealer had the car for about a month. They had to order some solenoid that is inside the engine. First the wrong side was ordered, ..then after a week or so I was informed that the right part came in, but needed to be installed. Then the engine had to be re assembled. It was all covered under warranty so when I picked it up they just said it was all set. ( no details were shared with me as to what exactly was replaced. ) I have been driving it for a month and it seems fine. Even took an 800 mile round trip drive and all is well.

Had engine light come on after a below zero night. Car ran fine,... brought it in to dealer next day to check codes. "timing issue" of some sort.....dealer wanted me to drop it off again in a few days and leave it for a while so they could run extended tests. 5 days now and still no resolution. Since they provide a loaner, I am in no rush...and want them to take whatever time they need to resolve it. I will update situation when I get more info. Mechanic thinks timing is changing for some reason, but the computer is retiming it continually so it isn't suffering loss of performance, but it shouldn't have to be doing it all the time. ( hence the engine light ). ???...film at eleven! ________________________________ (next day).... Got a call from dealer....major work needs to be done...parts are ordered and car should be ready early next week. This was decided after hearing back from Ford Engineering on a solution. No explanation of just what is being replaced ( yet), but an update will follow.

All of the above mentioned issues are present in my 08 Edge. That being said, the best thing I can manage to do is crank the AC as soon as I get in ...and either open the BAMR or at least hit the vent button for a few minutes. For some reason hitting the recirculate seems to help too. If nothing else the fan speed increases ( seemingly). Guess you are reusing the cooler inside air , instead of bringing in hotter outside fresh air. Overall, yes it is disappointing , but tolerable...

Well, I guess we each have our opinions on the value of daytime lights, and I know that I feel safer with mine on. In congested city driving on narrow streets , with cars trying to pull out from cross streets, I feel that they can detect my approach better with my lights on. If seeing the dash display is limited by their use, then I guess I'll deal with the dimmed display. From what I have read on the subject, the benefit of their use is not overwhelming, but statistics do show an overall benefit. Here is a quote from a web site of The Insurance Institute For Highway Safety...( for what it is worth)... How effective are DRLs? (daytime running lights) Nearly all published reports indicate DRLs reduce multiple-vehicle daytime crashes. Evidence about DRL effects on crashes comes from studies conducted in Scandinavia, Canada, and the United States. A study examining the effect of Norway's DRL law from 1980 to 1990 found a 10 percent decline in daytime multiple-vehicle crashes. A Danish study reported a 7 percent reduction in DRL-relevant crashes in the first 15 months after DRL use was required and a 37 percent decline in left-turn crashes. In a second study covering 2 years and 9 months of Denmark's law, there was a 6 percent reduction in daytime multiple-vehicle crashes and a 34 percent reduction in left-turn crashes. Since the "fog" lights on the Edge are not too great in the fog....I guess I'll just use them as daytime running lights. Even a small benefit is worth it to me, but freedom of choice is a great thing.....

I find that I can see it OK with the brightness turned all the way up , but only when my driving lights are off. I like to have my fog / driving lights on most of the time , even during the day ..and this dims the display automatically. Then I have to turn off the lights for a second to see the display which is a pain ....plus the guy in front of me thinks I am flashing my lights when all I am really doing is looking at the display. Maybe a future model year will only dim the display when it is dark out ( using the daylight sensor that the speedometer lighting uses ) instead of when the lights are turned on. ???

hi.....I had to have the black limited model.....and I will add a few more chrome accents. My biggest fear is a door ding so I may add side molding....but that will take some research to find a style that looks good and not cheap. I am so tempted to see what it will do on the open road....but I want to break it in "gently"...after the rumble of driving my wide tired Jeep for 4 years...this ride is sweet. The one I ended up getting had the sunroof....sattelite radio....leather seating package....towing package....reverse sensors...very posh compared to my last ride. I wanted the black interior leather so bad....but to order it or find one out of state would have defeated the incentives...so I settled for the "Stone" interior.... take care ...

had a day off of work so thought I would "see" what Ford could do for me with respect to my '04 Jeep Rubicon. After getting the best deal( ahem ) on the trade for an '08 Limited AWD I threatened to look elsewhere unless they could do something "else" for me. So they haggled a bit and gave me another $1K for my trade. With incentives of $2500 it looked pretty good and i would only need about $1K down. BUT !..then I asked about a lease. Since trades on a lease can only be "so" much ...they would cut me a check for the remainder of my trade value ( $4750) .... I would need nothing down....and my net monthly payment would go down by about $100 a month. With Ford making the first months lease payment , and then them throwing in 3 years of free scheduled maintenance...I feel I scored a home run.....and best of all .....6 hours after walking in to the dealership , I was driving out in my new Edge. Wow...what a day.
