  1. The ford connector from v-led is only $15, but it only works with the $135 v3 Triton switchbacks. Total is $150 for the set, not just for connectors.
  2. I did look into v-leds and I did see that they have 10+ ford specific connectors but I wasn't prepared to drop $150 for the Tritons, although that may be what I end up doing. It just seems crazy to pay as much for turn signals as I did for morimoto hids. I just got a random set off ebay for like $30, they are not v-leds.
  3. I installed some switchback leds yesterday off of ebay. They are type 2 switchbacks so they are supposed to blink amber-off-amber-off when the parking lights are on. The drivers side does that most of the time but randomly throws in a white flash. The passenger side works that way occasionally but is mostly amber-white with the right turn signal. I have Dan's DRLs installed but no load resistors. Would resistors help this issue or is this just a set that will not work with the Edge. If they will likely never work I will go with just a standard amber led. If there is a good chance that the resistor would work, can I install the resistor onto the ground wire of the turn signal and the signal trigger of the DRLs since I already have a connector on the signal wire? I really want them to match the DRLs and I love the way it looks when it works properly, I just need it to always work correctly.
  4. I found my issue. The Enhance Trip Display must be turned on through the settings/display/trip menu. Sorry for getting off topic.
  5. Should it be there for any trim level with an MFT? My trip screen only shows milage
  6. slightly off topic, but where do you access the gallons used in the dash? Is this only offered on certain models? I have a 2012 SEL with MFT and I can't find that screen.
  7. It's going to depend on the trailer. Measure from the ground to the center of the hitch and from the ground to the bottom of the tongue (With the trailer level) and see what the difference is.
  8. I did mine with a transparent vinyl. It looks great but I would not recommend it if you have never done it before. The '11+ tail lights are rather difficult because of the deep crease in the middle of the light.
  9. My wife has a Dodge Journey with a rear DVD system that we have been using when we travel. When I got my Edge a couple of months ago I knew I would need something but there was no way I was paying $2000 for the head rest system. The headrests look great but they just don't seem practical to me I started looking at my options a while ago and today I got everything and it works perfectly. Both of my kids already had iPads so using them was only logical. I was able to make a system for everything they could want to do for under $150. Most people have some kind of tablet at this point but even if you don't you could do this whole system for under $700 easily which is still way better than $2000, plus you also have 2 tablets that you can use anywhere rather than 2 headrest stuck in your car. I started with 2 Satechi Tablet Headrest Mounts - $13 each For audio I got 2 cheap sets of Bluetooth Headphones - $22 each They obviously aren't premium audio, but they connect easily and work great for the kids That stuff is all pretty obvious but the real issue was storage. A 16GB iPad that is full of games doesn't leave much for video selection. That is where the next piece brings everything together. RAVPower File Hub - $45 The fileHub is a wifi file server with storage expansion from SD card, Flash Drive, or external hard drive. The capacity is only limited by the drives currently available, right now I guess a 4TB external would be the max. I will be using a 64gb SD card which will hold about 100 movies that they can easily access at any time. It can sit in the center console out of the way and constantly be hooked up to a power source. As an added bonus it also serves as a 3000 mah battery backup when you are away from the car. This was the best solution for me, mostly because we already had the iPads. This will allow them to watch any of their movies and easily pull the tablet out to play a game if they want.
  10. Buying a new TPMS sensor is usually $40-$60 depending on the shop but a lot of places do rebuild kits for closer to $10. I don't know for certain but I would guess it depends on the condition of the sensor. Salt and things can have a big impact on the stems so that portion usually gets rebuilt. Since you aren't replacing due to old tires and actually just getting a new rim they might be able to just move it over.
  11. The TPMS sensor is inside the tire as part of the valve stem. There is nothing to disconnect when taking the wheels off, they are wireless.
  12. There is an ecoboost badge on the engine cover and tailgate
  13. The factory hitch is part of the bumper and requires the cutout. Most, if not all, aftermarket hitches would go below the cover and require no cutting. Probably best to check with the company you are buying the hitch from to be sure with the parts that you are getting.
  14. A 9006 Kit will work, but you need to do a bit of trimming to one of the tabs. Many have said that it fits without trimming but I don't see how that's possible. If you are getting a 55w kit you will also want to get a relay to provide the power.
  15. It's just one beam but you don't lose your Hi Beams. There is an automatic shutter inside the headlamp housing so when your Low Beam is on it blocks out the top half of the light beam, when you turn your Hi Beams on the shutter moves out of the way to reveal the whole beam. IMO this is the best scenario to still allow Hi Beam use. You really don't want a separate Hi Beam for HID, like in many cars, because of the warm-up time. If you have a separate hi beam and have to turn them on for only a short period they may not fully turn on before you are turning them back off.
  16. I don't think so, that would just make the beam cutoff higher. Unless the shutter malfunctioned and to compensate they aimed the bulbs really low at the dealer. I have the Morimoto 55w 5000k Kit and for me at 15 feet away there is no defined beam pattern like you have, it's just solid even light. The only thing that makes sense to me at this point would be something in the relay not providing enough power. It would be very unlikely for both ballasts, both bulbs, or both shutters to fail at the exact same time. The bulb color seams very strange too, even when mine first fire they are nowhere near that purple.
  17. What kit are you using? The beam pattern looks good, but the color looks terrible. Either their is something wrong with the kit, which is rather unlikely because it's even on both sides, or your color temperature is just to high to get a really clean light. It looks like 8000K+, it's very purple in these images. At 55w you should be at about 5000K for the best output.
  18. I was looking at these myself, are those 20"? What size tires?
  19. Can you try to post pictures of your beam pattern about 5 feet from a wall and then about 15 feet
  20. It looks like the 22" wheels are the main factor in the reduced sport Towing Capacity. From the towing guide here http://www.ford.com/resources/ford/general/pdf/towingguides/12FLRVTT_EdgeJul21.pdf (a) Tow rating reduced to 2,000 lbs. when ordered with 22” wheels and tires.
  21. I hope your right. I would love to see them upgrade their older vehicles, it says a lot for their customer satisfaction. There are a lot of companies out there that would use this as one of the reason to upgrade to a newer vehicle. I will remain cautiously optimistic.
  22. To check my version I ran a Vehicle History report and it automatically updated the version on syncmyride.com
  23. Just because it's backwards compatible, does that mean Ford will go through all of the licensing for their existing vehicles? If so, at what point will it stop? I can't see them upgrading 7 years worth of sync system to the new Blackberry system.
  24. Usually if you're beam pattern isn't solid the bulb is not seated correctly. If you only have 2 tabs inserted you will get strange rings in the beam and the won't be centered or bright. This isn't my video but it shows what I'm talking about. The left beam has a bad ring rather than solid light and these beams actually cross in just a few feet.
