  1. So I haven't updated yet but I will this weekend. I am kinda hoping that this update will magically get my backup camera guidelines to come back as they disappeared on the 3rd of October. If so I can cancel my dealership visit on the 24th, but I feel like I will still end of having to drop the old gal off.
  2. So quick question. I've looked in the manual and didn't see anything. The guidance lines on the rear view camera on both sides mean what. Is that the width of the car on the camera? I just would like to know what the side lines mean.
  3. Yeah I got in it and decided to try this Hyundai Active Eco button. That thing wouldn't even attempt to move in a spritely manner.
  4. Well the Edge went into the shop this morning and they said that it that the new brake booster was defective. Kinda strange for it to fail in 3 weeks, but its covered under parts warranty so it will be free. The part should be in tomorrow morning and she should be ready for pick up tomorrow afternoon. So another day of driving around in a loaner Hyundai Accent (at least it gets good gas mileage) thats about the only pro.
  5. While I started it the first time yesterday morning it had been about 14 hours since I last drove it and it was stiff. I decided to let it sit about 45 minutes and tried it again and it was again hard as a rock. Its the same symptoms it was starting with when it started to go out last time. I am almost certain it is relating to the brake booster. I have PM'd Tricia yesterday and hopefully will here some news this morning.
  6. So I had the brake booster replaced with about 44, 900 miles on it and all has been good for 3 weeks. Well now I have 47,954 on it and like I said 3 weeks later the pedal was stiff as a rock this morning when I started it. As I ran my errands this morning I started hearing a whooshing noise when hitting the brake every once in a while. The brakes felt fine when driving it but still 3 weeks and it is starting to make noises again. I am not sure of what options I have since this is a one time fix. Also I am moving in 2 days and I know for a fact that I won't be able to get it to the original shop that has "fixed" it the first time. I am going to call the dealer in my new town Monday morning and ask what options I have. This is becoming a pain in the neck.
  7. I decided to wax the Edge last week. It definitely needed it. I can't believe I have already had her a year and a half and I still love her so much.
  8. I finally got it fixed this past Friday morning. It feels back to normal thankfully. I just don't see why it had to take a phone call to ford customer service to get this handled. You would think that one of three dealerships in a 30 mile radius could get this taken care of in two or less days. I guess having to take it 40 miles wasn't so bad I am just glad that it has been fixed. Now I am ready for my move to Bryan, and my next adventure a little trip to Ruidoso, NM and Alamogordo, NM Tuesday and Wednesday.
  9. I did call on Ford Service assistance and it is going into a small dealership in Stanton on Thursday and was told that it would most likely completed on the same day. I will post an update.
  10. Well we have gotten to the point of where it has become hard even when running and a little scary. I am calling corporate ford in the morning and going to see if I can get it into the shop this week and worked on this week. Instead of being told that it won't be looked at for 5-7 business days and no chance of getting a loaner/rental car even though I know it is part of my premium care. I can't go 5-7 days without help. And I seriously don't want to have to drive all around the State of Texas with it not working well. I already put 1500 miles on the car last week and probably another 900 from the 19th through the 25th.
  11. Mine as 42,000 on it now and I have loved it. Most issues I have had have not been engine related (vista roof, rattling seats, transmission linkage loose, and a bad fuel pump) I think the fuel pump was a bad batch of gas. I may have a brake booster issue but I love my 2012. Good power and pickup. The torque is pretty darn great. Gas mileage is not what I would consider night and day difference from what I assume 3.5 Liter has but I feel good about 23-24 averages when my old Monte Carlo only averaged 22-23 and this car is much bigger.
  12. Good new is it has been replaced. Bad news is that it cost 156 dollars for the plastic cover and one metal clip.
  13. I have tried to get it to a dealer here in Odessa during the 2nd week of June and they gave me the run around about how they can't set an appointment even three weeks out (which I think is total bs) This is three different dealerships. I called a dealer in College Station, TX and they said that they would look at it on the 27th of July after I move down there for work and would have it diagnosed in one day, and if it will take longer I will have a rental covered under my premium care warranty that same day. At least it sounds like I am moving to an area with a great dealership. Also thank you for the replies. The service department in College Station said he thought it was the brake booster after giving the symptoms I was having. He also said that it was BS that the three local dealerships here wouldn't take an appointment and would take 5-7 days just to look at it.
  14. I am moving to Bryan, TX I lived in College Station while I was in college and I just got a Job in Bryan. I guess I am gong back to a familiar town and atmosphere and getting out of this boomtown of Odessa. I am very excited to be leaving.
  15. Yesterday I went on a little road trip and somewhere along the way the under side plastic cover that covers the oil pan and the filter and some belts was hanging. One clip was completely missing. I tried to remove it and when I did the piece was cracked pretty badly damaged and another metal clip from the attachment point came off and was broken. My question is is I found this kit on the ford parts website but I can not tell if it actually comes with the plastic skid plate. I am going to go to the dealership hopefully tomorrow after work with the broken pieces and see how much it will cost to replace it and if the can order it. I have attached some pictures and the link to the parts online but I can't tell if the plastic cover actually comes with the kit. http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/CatalogResults.aspx?v=2fmdk3k95cba69273&initSearch=1&partNo=10494-A#Search

  17. I did some research and I am pretty sure that it is the brake booster. I am going to wait till this summer to get it fixed because come June 10th I am off for a few weeks. I need to get it fixed before my biggish move.
  18. So I have a 2012 Edge Ecoboost with the entry package and keyless ignition. In the past few weeks when I get in the car to start the engine the Brake Pedal is really stiff. As soon as the engine starts the pedal goes back to what I would call normal. If I use the remote start it feels normal when I start the car. I know that if you press the brakes a lot when the car is off it will get stiff, but all I do is put in park and shut the engine off and get out. The next time I get in the car the pedal is stiff again. Any insight will be helpful.
  19. Sorry about the long response time. After waiting a day or so it finally opened up. Must of been a minor computer glitch. Thank you for your quick response Rebecca.
  20. I ran a vehicle health report yesterday and tried to open it on syncmyride.com and I keep getting an error message on the site. It says that the health report is ready to view, but it won't open. I also noticed when I logged in that my sync subscription has lapsed. Considering I don't really use sync services much I don't plan on renewing it. Could not having a sync subscription prevent me from viewing a vehicle health report, and if so why doesn't it just say this service is no longer than activated instead of an error message.
  21. Thank you very much. I believe you were the person who suggested BG's but I couldn't find which BG you meant. Thanks a million.
  22. I have looked online and I am having issues finding information about carbon buildup in the current 2.0L Ecoboost engine. First off I want to avoid any issues in the future and I feel like sitting at ~35,000 miles it may be around the time to do some routine maintenance to avoid buildup. I am trying to find information or a place here locally in Odessa, TX thatch do the service or if I should even worry about it right now. Someone mentioned looking at BG's online to find a place, but I can't seem to figure out what website it is. If someone could post a link and some insight on to these DI engines on the ford ecoboosts.
  23. Edgefield, SC very close to Augusta, GA
  24. I have family in South Carolina. The first long road trip I took in my Edge was to South Carolina from West Texas. It was such an easy trip. i also took my Edge on The Tail of the Dragon while I was up there and that was just a blast. That trip was the first time I pushed my Edge a little bit and it was great. I loved hearing the turbo waste gates. Sure is a great area. Welcome to the forum.
  25. Mine did this about three months ago and mine turned out to be a bad fuel pump. Thankfully covered under warranty. I didn't get the wrench or the traction control light but I also didn't drive it more than 3 miles after the loss of power and the check engine light on. I had it towed to the dealer asap. I hope that it is something simple for you.
