Sony - Surround sound mode-Your settings?
mcali6301 replied to Chipster's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I tried surround sound but the stereo option is much better for music. I think the they made the surround sound setting for DVD/Movie hookups.. I like my treble all the way up, mid halfway maybe a little less and all I need is about 2-3 notches of bass...I Think the bass is pretty powerful with the stock and I listen to a lot of rap/R&B on Sirius and Spotify. I've never ever had the need to make the bass any higher than 3 notches..Keep in mind I have the 2011 sport Sony radio, not sure what changes were made for the '15 and '16's... -
Yup, that's it! Thanks! I'll be inspecting this first since it is loose and making some noise although not sure if it's the noise I'm hearing..

Thanks for the feedback! Under the car, on the driver's side there is a plastic panel that seems loose. What does this panel cover? And under what category would I find it under on fordparts.com

Thanks! can you direct me to any good diagrams of the rear suspension? Tried googling not I'm not getting any good matches... The 2011 sport is independent rear correct?

I'm getting an intermittent rattle from under my car when I go over a serious of bumps. It sounds like a flat thin piece of metal clanking. The first thing I checked were the anti-rattle clips on the calipers but they are all in place and are not loose. Anything else I should be checking? Can the rattle clips be bad even though they seem firmly in place?

Cold air intake or just K&N for better fuel economy?
mcali6301 replied to rltrbill's topic in 2010 Edge & MKX
I just put my K&N panel filter back in after using the paper filter for a few months. I'll keep you all posted on HP gain and MPG. -
I was at the dealer and bought a bottle of Motorcraft multipurpose spray grease. This should work, correct? They did not have silicone spray.

They replaced the neck and filler pipe. Thank goodness for warranty... $100 vs $450. -
EZ Fuel Gas Door

Tried it. Did not work. shortly after, the CEL came on and most likely relates to this issue. Car at dealer. -
EZ Fuel Gas Door
mcali6301 replied to mcali6301's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I will try this method, thanks! I never top off my tank. Ever. first click and I'm done. -
Today I received a "check fuel inlet" warning message. I checked the little silver door in the fuel fill area and I am able to just push it open with my finger without engaging those side buttons. When I let the cap close, it does not close enough to let the latches on both sides lock it into place. Any suggestions aside from replacing parts?

This explains the need for only 2 bulbs, thanks! I can do this myself.
-
No it's the right tail light assembly...Looks like there is only one bulb on top and one on the bottom. I had this fixed a couple of months back and thinking I may be better off buying a bunch of bulbs and replacing myself.. I'll post pics when I get home.

I noticed that my right upper brake light does not illuminate but the tail lights work fine. I only see one bulb in there. What am I missing?

VBOX TESTED: 91 LMS/K&N FILTER AGGRESSIVE + SHIFT TUNE
mcali6301 replied to GT500R's topic in Transaxle (FWD)
Sorry to inject this mundane post in the middle of all this... Are we talking about electronically tuning the tranny for better performance? How does a guy go about performance tuning a 2011 Edge sport in California? (I see LMS is in the UK) -
Well as you may remember, I had this car in the shop for over a month in October. They took apart the transmission and replaced the valve body gasket so assuming some new fluid was put back in or replaced all together. May just wait till next maintenance to bring it up. Thanks!

This does not always happen but I've been noticing some slight delays when shifting from R to D. When I shift into D, sometimes it engages right away and sometimes I get a 2 second delay, which can be annoying because it causes a slip when I press the pedal. Another funny thing I noticed is when backing out of spaces slowly, sometimes without the brake, I shift into D with no issue at all...I realize this may not be a good habit but I thought it was weird that using the brake can cause this delay sometimes but then NOT using the brake always seems to work flawlessly even while moving backward at 1-2mph..

One thought: Make sure the cabin temperature sensor is not being blocked. That would be those small vents located under the ignition area. there is a tube leading from that vent to the thermostat so it can measure the cabin temp and adapt accordingly. Whatever the temperature of the air being sucked into that vent is what the computer will use.
-
Yes. Really weird but I guess it's ok. thanks for your input
-
Really????? It certainly does not look that way but if more people can confirm then I guess it's true...very strange...

Hi, For some strange reason, the idiot who owned this car before me had taken the panels surrounding the spare tire out and never fastened them back. Or maybe is was the dealership, who knows. I live in San Diego so I can only imagine why this could have been done. Obviously I took them out and thoroughly inspected underneath. Question is this, can anyone identify exactly what kind of nuts that will fasten these back up? I attached pics.

On a positive note, ever since updating MFT, the ambient lighting does not reset on it's own.
