  1. The weather stripping is holding for now but for how long is anybody's guess. I am frustrated as the door and weatherstrip are designed to fit together without adhesive. I would like a new door.
  2. The dealership replaced the weather stripping yesterday. The Service Manager had the technician to use some sort of contact cement in the area where it was loose. I have left it alone to cure for several days and then will see if it holds. His answer for the shorter metal fold on the door was that Ford allows a tolerance of + or - 1/8 inch on the body panel seams. He also stated that he didn't think it was a problem. Ford Customer Service has contacted me about my frustrations about this issue. I am disappointed that Ford did not send out a field technician to look at the door. I wonder how many more Edges are out there with the same problem. I paid alot for this vehicle.
  3. I talked to the service manager at the dealership this afternoon. He will look at it next week on Wednesday. I asked him about a field service tech coming to look at it. He wants to look at it first and stated that they could put some adhesive on it although it was not designed to have adhesive in that area. Jessica, the CSM, still has not called or emailed me. I have given up on a response from Ford customer service.
  4. I emailed Jessica today after waiting for an answer from her to a message that was supposed to be relayed to her when I called after the dealer replaced the weather stripping on the 18th.
  5. At least you have gotten more attention than me. I have pm'd, called and emailed and haven't received an answer yet.
  6. I called Ford Support on the Tuesday the 18th and was told that they would get back with me. I haven't heard anything yet. Todd
  7. Todd, I have asked that a field service tech come to the dealership to look at it. Michael, my wife has it at the moment. It is the weather stripping mounted on the door and not the jamb. I noticed that the edge has 2 weather strips - one on the door and one on the jamb.
  8. The weather stripping was replaced today. It did not fix the problem. The weather stripping is tight on all the other doors. No adhesive is used on the weather stripping at the top of the doors. It fits into a groove where the metal is folded at the top of the door. All you have to do is touch it and it comes out of the groove. I am not happy after sitting in the dealership for about an hour today.
  9. I haven't carried it in for service yet but was told by Ford service that their tech expert stated that maybe there was not enough adhesive in that area. I have checked all the doors and adhesive is not used to hold the weather stripping in. There is a spline on the weather stripping that fits in a metal fold on the top of the door. The metal fold in the area where the weather stripping is loose is shorter than the rest of the doors. Seems to be a defect in the door.
  10. Thanks four your reply. Should I wait to see if the dealer takes care of it? I like the dealership and their service department and I don't want them upset with me. Todd L
  11. The door jamb weather stripping on the front drivers side on my new 2013 Ford Edge keeps popping out of the door at the top of the door. The dealer has ordered new weather stripping but it looks like the metal bend on the door is a little short in the area where it is popping out. The service guy says he might can use some double sided adhesive to hold it in. Any one else have this problem?
  12. Been there - done that. I know the recommended lift points- just can't find a good place under the edge to place jack stands.
  13. When working under your edge where is the best place to position jack stands?
  14. Sorry for the post - I finally found it.
  15. Sorry for the post. I finally found it!
  16. Where did you find the oil llife left? I can't find it anywhere.
  17. I have a 2013 edge and can not find the remaining oil life on any of the menus.
  18. Thanks for your reply. I have seen those. I was just curious if there are other recommended lift points and if the pinch weld points were just for changing flat tires. Will the pinch weld points stand up to repeated use? Also where do you place jack stands when needed? Do you use your spare tire instead of a jack stand when rotating your tires?
  19. When you rotate your tires do you use the pinch weld lift points or are there recommended points for a floor jack? I have searched and can not find an answer except to use the pinch weld points.
