I have no idea why the part is different as it the correct part. I do see Rock auto and many other vendors are only selling the mount and you have to remove the top weight and lower bracket to remount on the new part. This part does show up on the searches as the engine mount complete unit which I purchased from Tascaparts and is now a different part. Mount - Ford (8T4Z-6038-A)

I am still driving to see how long will a water pump go until failure with good maintenance. Currently over 243,000 miles on LU (2011 Ford Edge).
-
Installed the Updated valve cover on LU. Now to see if oil consumption is reduced.

There are several I have used at this link for OBDII reading and recording. https://www.mactgarage.com/forscan-diagnostics

A lot of work for a fix. Maintenance is the price to pay to prevent. Water pump failure is a known issue but not so sure it is a grenade waiting to happen. Will it happen to me to one of my Edge's who knows but with 650,000 miles clocked on the Edges. I am not worried about failure. Just buy a used engine drop the old one out and slide the new one in.

Finally replaced the old projection puddle lights with the ford MACT logo that fell apart. Then I dissected them. Here is the video.

Replaced the LH valve cover due to the never ending oil consumption from the intake. Let's see if the new valve cover does what it is supposed to do. This is a video of LU's 3.5 with 242,000 miles on it right after I opened it up. Gotta love how clean that engine is. 10K mile (200hrs) oil changes no less.

106,000 and the Edge my wife drives (Blueberry) is running great. Just took a trip from Iowa to Clearwater Fl and back this week. Not a problem. I do think I will be replacing the front struts and rear shocks soon as the right front is starting to make a bit of noise.

I have performed testing on gear lubes at a lab and researched the PTU gear lubes. The results and top gear lubes for the PTU are presented in MACT Ford Edge youtube and the discussions on PTU maintenance, drilling and plug installation for previous generations. Here is one video of many addressing the PTU. I will say the best thing Ford has done is install a drain plug, provided air induction for cooling and added coolant assisted cooling for the PTU with the addition of more gear lube volume.

The Takata Air Bag conundrum. More repairs than rentals. Dealership employing full delay tactics in a quasi war against the Ford owners? Video covers some of the delay tactics Dealerships are envoking.

Great news LU is still running great and will be knocking on the door for 250K in the next few months. Nothing to change or speak of as far as repairs and the OE water pump still going strong. The engine at this time will go until the pump dies. LU is almost paid off and Blueberry will be paid early summer. This means MACT will be going AWD TURBO next year. Standby.
