Welcome to the forum. I would say enjoy your Edge, but it looks like you already are.

We have around 1,000 miles on ours and we get about 17 mpg doing mixed city/highway driving. We're definitely enjoying our Edge. Heard the 9s were nice vehicles as well. Good luck with your decision.

Oh boy, I guess this is what I have to look forward to. I bet Ford left the aluminum bare to save money because they glue on the chrome cover. There won't be much savings if they have to replace the wheels under warranty. If I have to replace mine, I'm going with the premium painted 18s.

I'm paying for a little more peace of mind as well. I'm going with full synthetic and changing the oil every 5,000 miles instead of 7,500. I'll go with either Mobil 1 or Royal Purple oil and probably the Motorcraft filter. I change the oil myself so I'll save a little there.

Welcome to the forum. Nice stable of rides you got there. Especially the Lightning.

Wow, February 25, 2008 and still "coming soon".

As Jeff alluded to, I'd suggest going with the recommended 5W-20 as well. It's proven that the lighter 20 weight flows better and get into the tighter clearance parts better during the critical startup and warmup period. In other words, engine wear is reduced. As far as brands, I use to use Mobil 1 but recently started using Royal Purple in my supercharged F150. I'll probably go with Royal Purple in the Edge when it's time to change the oil in it.

We've been having our Edge for 2 weeks now and we've never referred to it as a car. We always call it "The Edge". Such a cool name for a ride. :shades:

Congrat on your new Edge. We got everything except the navigation system. It's not bad but I couldn't see spending a couple grand for something that we won't use that much. Instead, we's adding the headrest DVDs for the kids. Good luck and be careful in that snow.

Sorry to hear of your misfortunes with your transmissions. Looks like you guys are heading in the right direction going back to the dealership and claiming warranty. I'd try to negociate a rental if you don't already have coverage. You could be in for a long shop visit.

Can you get one of your customers to take pictures and send them to you? -
Painted grille and foglite surrounds?

Jeff I like your Edge as is. The painted lower bumpers look awesome. The only other thing I'd do is paint the lower side molding. -
Glad to hear positive feedback.

What I plan to do to my EDGE

I like your list of mods. I've never seen 22s on an Edge, but I think they would look awesome with slightly bigger tires filling up the wheel wells. A hand held tuner will probably be needed to re-calibrate the speedometer if you go with larger diameter tires. The DVDs in the headrests are on our short term mod list as well. -
We didn't have such a good start with our Edge as well. We bought it two Saturdays ago and the roof stuck open that night. Dropped it off first thing Monday morning and didn't get it back until Wednesday evening. Hopefully that was just a one off and we're in for a long reliable run.

That's one nice looking Edge.

My wife and I bit the bullet and bought a black 08 SEL this past Saturday. We had been eyeing the Edge for a while and decided the time was right. It has Camel color interior, Panoramic Vista roof, 18" chrome clad wheels, Sync, and SIRIUS radio just to name a few options. We had one setback with it on Saturday night. After opening the roof for the second time, it stuck half way open and wouldn't close. We dropped it off at the dealership this morning apparantly they worked on it all day and haven't diagnosed the problem yet. We hope that this is a one off and we in for a good reliable vehicle the rest of the way. Anyway, glad to be a part of the forum and I'm looking forward to learning from you guys!
