My shifter had to be replaced to fix this issue after I'd gone in twice for the problem.

I'll add mine to the list - same exact thing. All of a sudden this past week, 2011 Ford Edge Limited parked but light comes on saying "shift to park". But I have one other issue too that started first --- light comes on saying left rear door is open when it's not. Took it to the dealer here and had the car sit all day long without anyone taking a look at it. Taking it back later this week.
