I have owned my Edge since 12/30/06. My overall average is 15.2 MPG. My skill may have something to do with my MPG. However, I drove a minivan before I purchased my Edge and was getting 17 and 18 MPG. So using the same type of gas, same skill, same driving habits, I was getting better gas mileage on a bigger vehicle. I had 3 rows of seats and a whole lot more room and got 3 more miles per gallon.

We have found the same problem. There just isn't enough room in the console for two drinks period. The door is out of the question unless it is a bottle. Seems like a small issue, but alot of little things have added up. I wish I had never purchased the Edge. Just waiting until I can trade without losing my shirt.

I have posted three pictures in the gallery. I have sent these pictures to Ford and the dealership where I purchased the Edge. I have a letter from the James P Vondale, Director, Automotive Safety with Ford. According to Mr. Vondale, the dash glare in my Edge "meets Ford's internal standards". He also stated "Ford's standards for glare are similar to, or in some cases, more stringent than those of other manufacturers whose vehicles demonstrate higher levels of glare than the Edge vehicle. Mr. Vondale's address is 330 Town Center Drive, Suite 400, Dearborn, MI 48126 if anyone would like to write in and complain and hopefully send pictures of their glare issues. PLEASE WRITE!!! I am totally disgusted with my entire Edge purchase. I should not have to buy special glasses or put a piece of cloth on my dashboard when I spend $30K for a vehicle.

I have posted 3 pictures in the gallery so everyone can see what I look though every sunny day when I drive. I purchased my Edge 12/30/06. I contacted the dealership with less than 500 miles on it less than a week after purchasing it requesting they fix the problem. I emailed pictures to the dealership. I was told there was nothing they could do. From there, I wrote Ford requesting the problem be fixed. Pictures were included in that correspondence. I was told again that nothing would be done as there was no "problem" to fix. If I have a defective vehicle because I purchased mine early, then why won't Ford admit this and take care of the problem?

This is a safety issue when you can't see what is in front of the car. I have a picture of my Dad standing in front of my car as I am pulling into the garage and you can't see him from the chest down due to the reflection. I don't mean you have to look through the reflection to see him, I mean you can't see him at all from the chest down. I consider that a SERIOUS safety issue due to the fact that if a child were in front of the car, I wouldn't see them when the sun is shining. Stupid comment about being easily distracted. I didn't spend $30,000 on a car to have to look through a reflection in order to drive and hoping the reflection isn't blocking something from my view. It's enough to give you headache after awhile. Hopefuly Ford will realize what a huge problem this is!

I have owned my FWD SEL camel interior Edge since 12/30/06. I drove it in the rain and bought it. When the sun came out a few days later, I couldn't believe how bad the dash reflection was. I have written several letters and even spoken with customer relations. I even got a letter back from the Director, Automotive Safety at Ford, Mr. James P Vondale, 330 Town Center Dr, Ste 400, Dearborn, MI 48126. Basically Ford's position is that the reflection is all within safety standards. They are not willing to do anything about it. Ford does not see this as something that needs to be fixed. Customer Relations told me I was more than welcome to trade it. I wish!! I don't have that kind of money to lose after buying a brand new car. I owned my car less than a week with less than 500 miles on it when I first requested the issue be fixed or Ford buy back my car. Ford has done nothing. People are always asking me about the Edge when I am out getting gas or shopping. I tell them all about the reflection and even show them. Several people have told me they will cross the Edge off their list of future car purchases. I feel this is a safety issue. If you have this problem, please write Mr. Vondale at the above listed address.

Filled up again. It was 15.3 MPG. This is all city driving. I have only hit 16MPG twice. I had one trip on the highway and had 22.1 MPG. I have owned my Edge since 12/30/06 and it doesn't look like I am going to get what the sticker states. I should have waited to see what the actual MPG was before buying. I won't make that mistake again. I didn't think I was getting a vehicle with outstanding MPG, just thought it would be better than it is.

Jimmerz Don't worry, you are not alone. I am still getting poor gas mileage. We had a warm up here and I didn't have to use my heater or heated seats at all. I actually broke the 16 MPG mark. That was a first. I have owned my edge since December 30, 2006. It is cold again and my mileage is dropping fast. From what I can tell, I will be getting 14 MPG during the winter and summer months when I need the heater and the air conditioner. If I am lucky, I wll get 16 MPG during the few months of the year when the temperature is good. I don't see how anyone can get 18, 19, 20 MPG in town. Maybe we have the batch of Edges that Ford forgot to put the better MPG regulator on (ha!). See you at the gas pump!!

I drove a van for 10 years. Decided it was time for something "fun". I am VERY disappointed in the room inside the Edge (especially in the front seat) and the gas mileage. I thought I was getting something between a car and an large SUV, however, that is not the case. I was getting better mileage with my van and had LOTS more room. I am spoiled by the room and extras in a van and don't mind the "soccer mom" look. I need a van for all the trips we make as a family just didn't realize it until it was gone!

Don't know where all the Edge buyers are coming from. However, I am selling mine. Anyone interested in purchasing a Redfire Metallic FWD SEL with Vista Roof? I also have the Premium Package, 18" wheels, sirius sat radio, leather seats, camel interior, entry keypad etc. As of today, I have less than 2,000 miles on my Edge. This is a great oppportunity for someone who wants an Edge but doesn't want to wait until the dealer gets one. My edge is like just like new.

My easy-entry seat option quit working for one day. Now it isn't moving up and back near the distance as before. Has anyone else had this problem?

Anyone have trouble with your shade getting jam?

Mine has gotten stuck a couple of times. I had to close it back and start over. I don't know if Ford can fix this. -
I'm not short. I am 5'8". The dash reflection takes up almost the entire windshield from top to bottom. I have tried sitting up higher, lower etc. My concern is that this is a safety issue. I have a picture showing my Dad standing in front of my Edge. You can't seen him from the chest down due to the reflection. If a small child was in front of the Edge when the picture was taken, you wouldn't be able to see them. Ford's line is that the Edge is all within specs.

If you will look at my picture I posted, it is from the driver's seat. The dash reflection is in my direct line of vision. You have to be logged on to look at the picture. I am doing something wrong but don't know what. Hope everyone can open the picture. Click on the picture to bring it to full size.
