yes, livernois 2.0 Tuning, gives you 218hp/314tq at wheels, which is way better than the 204hp/237tq it baselines at. Pretty good numbers since the 2.7TT is a slug in stock form at 225hp/315hp at the wheels. it def can handle putting down better numbers than a stock 2.7TT. There are big turbo fusions running around making way more power on same transmission
-
could always tune it. then it would be faster than a stock sport/ST. might ease the feeling a bit

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
Nick Halstead replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
A retrofit I hope, otherwise it would be a downgrade in lighting No polish to hide the marring from clay? There is literally no visual difference when claying a car. -
I'm still lost in the SUV part of the name. It's a tad longer than an Escape and nowhere near the headroom. decently priced to compete with the Tesla Model Y also
-
actually it was the Boxster that saved Porsche not the Cayenne
-
That was my point. in 2014 waiting on the 2.7 to drop and all the aftermarket companies that would flood to it and offer parts.... yeah that never happened like everyone hoped.
-
I don't want to keep this going, but you have been here long enough to know Ford is not reactive to anything with the Edge.
-
That statement could have been wrote in 2014 also as we were waiting for CD4 and for it to fulfill all of our dreams. That line just gave me instant flashback man...wow
-
well I've only seen 3 STs on the road in person since release and only 1 was a male. That's a very broad spectrum too cause I've lived in 3 states and driven across the country. The SQ5 is 100% more of a performance vehicle than the Edge Sport/ST ever will be.
-
ok, I will bite. Yes it is listed under their performance vehicles. Wouldn't you think Ford would have performance parts for said "performance" vehicle or would even list it on the Ford Performance webpage? Wouldn't you think Ford would have had a bigger marketing campaign or even set out to prove all magazine editors wrong when they all wrote horrible things about the ST? Ford did nothing. Ford does not care about the Edge in the performance realm (outside of marketing). I've been driving an Edge for 7 years now and NOTHING has changed. 2015 came and everyone thought parts would start flooding the market, nope didn't happen. The ST came and people thought parts would start flooding the market. Nope didn't happen. NOBODY brought a built Edge to any SEMA show besides the ones sponsored by Ford. Tjin Edition, Aaron Vaccar, Webasto and then the BTR ST. Usually cars that are trending big in the performance world get built for SEMA, not sponsored by the corporate entity. The brand new Ranger has a slew of dedicated parts (none carryover) from Ford. A vehicle that has used the same motor since 2015 has ZERO. If Ford was not killing hatches and sedans the ST name would have never came to the Edge because it fits none of the previous ST criteria, in reality the Fusion ST would have been a better application for the badge. ST owners always get butthurt when us Sport guys try and prove points. ST is a trim level, it's not a sport upgrade and with ST being applied to the Explorer really shows it's a Trim level replacement for the word "Sport" to attract the buyers who can no longer get their happy lil ST hatches. though most of those drivers have moved on to totally different brands. @Special_K and I are not bashing the ST, it would be kinda dumb to bash a vehicle that is like 95% the same one we drive.
-
This is a recurring subject. One would think a twin turbo CUV would have a host of parts. The problem, Ford does not offer it as such. It is just a trim to Corporate. Most parts as stated have come from the end user sourcing parts from small manufacturer's, this really does not catch the eye of big aftermarket companies but it does gain us parts and puts money into small mom and pop shops. Also, the Edge does not "appeal" to those particularly in the automotive aftermarket community. This Forum and Facebook is where I see most male drivers. Since 2015 I think I can count on one hand how many male drivers I have seen in person.

Best non-track way to time 0-60?
Nick Halstead replied to Jombi's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Dragy is the industry standard for those who cannot make it to the track. The method your doing will give you a general idea. Dragy is a lot more credible. Think of it this way, OBD module= Hey the capitol of the USA is on the East Coast of the country. Dragy= Washington DC is located at latitude 38.8951111 and longitude -77.0363693, in the northern hemisphere.- 1 reply

Original brake with 110k miles
Nick Halstead replied to accent's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
My 15 Sport is at 70k miles and original pads/rotors with a lot of life left -
Diode Dynamics lumen rating is lower because DD actually owns a $100,000. Intergrating Sphere used to measure lumens. VLEDs rating is “Actual” 4,500 Lm per bulb, not 7,600 (says it right on the site) which is a estimate. Either way. You will still be running the wrong bulb in the wrong housing and a halogen will give you better usable light, just not brighter.

73mm BBK throttle body works!!
Nick Halstead replied to Bob C.'s topic in Accessories & Modifications
considering the post was 2013, We def know it was not a 2.7TT -
I did not read that comment, motor #s are irrelevant, only none car enthusiasts even mention them besides manufacturers. I don't have to drive it at night. As an automotive lighting enthusiast and hobbyist I already know it's capabilities and lack of capabilities. No North American LED light outperforms any North American HID. Now if we are talking Euro Spec LED, thats a different ball game but even then HID will win in depth, it just wont win in lumen or lux output.
-
I've yet to see any Edge with 380-390 HP other than Jims. Also, the ST DOES NOT HAVE BETTER LIGHTING. Specially a North American Edge that is regulated to horrible US SPEC LED lighting regulations. HID is still king of lighting.
-
That's because of legal issues, they can't market it for the ST till they know for sure. But there's already a few STs on 15-18 Springs so yes, you can use them.

Edge is Unleashed, though from my understanding, nobody knows what the transmission can handle, better to be safe right now than sorry
-
My Edge Sport sees 23s regularly
-
I'd say any car on a track is fun. Ever taken a 3 cylinder geo metro through a go kart road course, AMAZING!!!

Speaks volumes that the Ranger already has a slew of aftermarket support and the edge still has nothing. Edge is a dead end vehicle as far as big time aftermarket is concerned.
