Will you purchase a Ford again?
Nick Halstead replied to Wedgeamatic's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
first mistake, can't really judge a car manufacturer if you bought a first year model. Everyone knows that the first year model has issues and that those who buy first year model cars are the real test vehicles for the following years. It's a man made product and although 40k may seem like a lot it's cheap when it comes to automotive prices. If your having issues with the dealership, you really can't blame Ford itself, find another dealer. I myself am on my 3 Ford and still have 2 of them. I don't have a favorite Manufacturer, I just like certain cars. I'd get rid of my Fusion Hybrid right now if a SRT8 Magnum came up for sale that I wanted. Sometimes it's not the Manufacturer but the people representing the manufacturer at dealerships. No car is perfect, I know someone who got a Gallardo and it was a lemon. -
Aftermarket HID Install
Nick Halstead replied to squeaky's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Only way to achieve that is with actual HID projectors -
a retrofit is when you completely open up the headlight housings and install LED projector housings or HID projector Housings. Your halogen projectors will work with HIDs, to break it all down in a school grade system kind of way. A retrofit is that kid that always went above and beyond. The guy who scored 110% when you didn't even know there was even a bonus question. putting HIDs in Halogen Projectors will get you a C in class, it works and it passes the test and the glare is minimal but it's still there. HIDs in regular halogen lights, Will get you an F, that kid that just shows up to class and sleeps the whole time and doesn't care about school. I think that's about as simply as I can put it. info on a retrofit? Just google HIDplanet retrofit, all kinds of things will come up. If you got money to spare or you are a good DIY kind of person you can do a retrofit for $300-$2,000. depending on the pieces you pick and if you are building them or someone else.

they could be out, it does happen, even in LED. sadly it's not a simple bulb replacement unless you want to solder in new LEDS otherwise you have to replace whole pieces
-
I think you answered your own question. If you want to be the cool guy who can say "I have LED headlights" to your friends who know nothing about aiming light and etc, then yeah, get the LEDS, otherwise go with the HIDs but if your true to function, you would do a proper retrofit and then you could either swap in a bad ass HID projector or take it one step further and swap in the LED corolla projector/LED just personal preference, but if you have noticed, EDGEs have an issue with even regular brake bulbs melting the brake light housing. 35W is plenty enough and you should know if you've been looking at articles on HIDplanet, 55watts is just a washed out brightness

smooth. tons of torque steer (fwd problems). Glad I upgraded, it's not my daily driver though. The wife drives the Edge, I drive a Fusion Hybrid. Combined in the Sport we average 21mpg. In my old 13 3.5 we were getting 19 here in Hawaii, oddly. In El Paso I was getting 22ish in my 13. Can't compare the 2 vehicles. The Edge has always been my wifes favorite car since it came out. So we traded in my Magnum in 2013 for her 13, then my fusion was in for a recall and she looked at a sport and next thing you know we are randomly upgrading. We didn't even test drive it...lol. So mad too, I traded in my 13 with my drive bright DRL, with the Steeda Sway, had just bought weather tech mats (still sitting in my garage since sept), just renewed 2 year registration and on the same exact day but that morning, made a car payment on it. The 15 is leaps and bounds better than my 13. The very first thing we noticed is how quite the cabin is compared to the older one. Motor is nice and peppy though, ultimate sleeper! Be even more of a sleeper whenever I secretly buy this livernois tune without telling the wife...lol

I had the steeda rear sway bar on my 13 when I traded it in. Noticable difference on on ramps and acceleration while turning

Hid cutoff line
Nick Halstead replied to andrewv28's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Ideally, your're gonna want shots from 50ft. A few members have done it. I only recommend kits from Diode Dynamics and The Retrofit Source. As far as what fits? I dunno I have a Sport with OEM HIDs -
2015 edge low beam
Nick Halstead replied to shockerpabla's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Like i originally said. You cant post an image of your LEDs. plus, No stock projector is going to have a cutoff like that. Only a tuned projector is. I've been on HIDplanet and a member of headlight junkies long enough to know somewhat what I am talking about. No current pnp led kit is going to outperform a halogen/hid, especially when put in the wrong housing. Like I tell everyone, do your own research, go on HIDplanet, candlepower etc. I too used to drive around with HIDs in my halogen headlights in my Dodge Magnum till a knowledgeable person schooled me on proper lighting. -

The image you posted is like the 6th image you get you when google HID Pattern. Lol You're a fraud guy. You're on here talking about your LEDs and you linked to a HID image on a florida motorcycle site. Ahahahaha. Let alone the image is named hidpattern.jpg ahahaha. You also said you LEDs have no hotspot which is the problem with LEDs. I'm done repling to you guy. Even when you comment back that you supposedly linked the wrong image. http://www.fl1v.org/ls1/hidpattern.jpg -
Plasti Dip on wheels?
Nick Halstead replied to Chipster's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
They would destroy my front end. The road to my house 25 miles long would be literally covered in them. Never seen anything like it till I moved to New Mexico -
Will do. I can manually create the condensation at home. Even in the headlights. Which makes me think all these cold weather buys are gonna have issues when it heats up. All I have to do is pull into my driveway so the tails are in the sun. Wait an hour and then go spray water on them and watch the condensation form. The headlights, I can make haze but it never forms droplets

Plasti Dip on wheels?
Nick Halstead replied to Chipster's topic in Appearance - Detailing, Wash & Wax
Not a dip fan but the more coats the better. I had a dip daily driver in El Paso when I was stationes their. Yes you can touch it up. Just spray right over the stuff. Mine I always had to touch up (front bumper) due to 3-5in locusts committing suicide on it. Dip holds up good to the elements. Its a nice winter protector but, im not a dip fan. I moved on from that fad. -
Ahahahahaha!

yes it is, though the front image is a render of what I'm doing. the interior is done, finished wrapping all the red the other day, now my wife wants me to put the carbon fiber up the whole center of the console/radio, so I have to wait for that vinyl to come in. finally got the steering wheel part done Ultra Red Monster was actually my inspiration for the color choice. The red I wrapped the trim in is almost an identical color match of the monster can. The Red is hard to capture in pics. but it's 3m Dragon Fire Red These are Renders of exterior This was the very first render I did, right after I bought the car in Sept.

How do you install new rocker panels on 2013 Ford Edge SEL
Nick Halstead replied to Noah Gold's topic in Exterior & Body
whats the other side look like? if their are no clips it's probably double sided tape -
yeah, nothing is perfect and well, we aren't buying a hand built Rolls either. I paid almost 50k for my Edge, would I like it to be perfect sure. Do I suspect it to be perfect hell no! even Jennifer Lopez has flaws!!! but anyway, 50k isn't a lot for a car in reality. It's a mass produced vehicle and my 15 was a 1st year model, which is suspect to all kinds of first year buyer testing to find flaws. The fit and finish is by far the worst aspect of my Edge and to the naked eye, the average consumer does not care at all because it's detailed flaws. window trims not lining up, if you don't look for it you wont even noticed. paint runs in 2 spots that, the average person will never see because they will never be that close to the paint. Overall I'm happy with my car. Ford so far has been good to me. Engine bay hose had a huge bubble, it's on order, tailights full of condensation, they get replaced on Wed. What model/year Edge do you own?

It rains a lot to keep paradise green!!! No but honestly it's too unpredictable. It rains when the sun is out. It rains when it looks like clouds are nowhere near you. Hey the suns out, leave roof open and go into gas station and walk out to a flash flood 3 mins later. Plus driving. shit...this little 50x20 rock, driving down the highway and your destined to hit rain. Rains at my house everyday, my friend in honolulu never sees rain. It's just so odd here

honestly, I'd rather have manual seats and manual wheel. manually moving things is far quicker. Only benefit of power is it remembering the setting.

Nick Halstead replied to shockerpabla's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
where's your cutoff? This is general headlight bulb knowledge that LEDs are junk in all things other than LED projectors. I'm not reinventing the wheel here. -
