I only say outdated cause it’s not a wet/dry dual clutch and still “traditional” automatic. All performance vehicles should atleast have a dual clutch auto if manual is not an option.

I dunno man, I can tell you, the Ford is being held back by an outdated transmission even though it's new. I tried talking the wife into upgrading the Edge to a S7, she veto'd that. I tried trading in her A3 for a S3 so I could enjoy the 11sec 1/4 mile of the S3 with the current aftermarket stuff on her A3 she veto'd that too. Though we both agreed next vehicle will probably be Audi Q8.

if it makes you feel a lil better, Motortrend was only able to pull a 13.5 1/4 with the A7 and Audi officially claims a 5.3 second 0-60

that site is missing a quattro and dual clutch transmission option. Also missing the hybrid system that the A7 comes with to achieve 34mpg on highway
  5. 30days is little. My Sport has spent 7 months total in the shop trying to figure out why transmission was leaking after service writer said it was fixed on 3 different occasions, with one 3 month stay and one 2 month stay. Wanted to Lemon it, but couldn't because of time/mileage. GM of dealership ended up firing service writer and wrote my wife a check for 3 car payments and after that only one particular person was allowed to handle my car.

is a summary of my first reply minus the lincoln cause it was not part of the OP, Ford/Audi was
  7. yes they are, from a financial stand point as I stated in the convo that started all this indeed has never been an issue, if others can't handle blunt criticism during discussion/debate, they should add a "don't hurt my feelings" option to the login page so we know to agree with everything they post.
  8. So, let me set the air straight on my ST criticism. I do not hate the ST. I don't think anyone who owns a Sport can. The ST is a mildly upgraded Sport, so as a Sport owner, you cannot dislike that. Some of you just don't want your STs compared to a Sport. I don't have a favorite manufacturer, I call it like I see it. I test drove a ST and even let the GM of the dealership push my Edge as hard as he wanted in return for doing so in the ST. To me, it was like driving my Edge, without the Tune, I didn't say a stock Sport without a tune, I said mine. Give me the steering wheel and the black interior from belt line up and I'd be happy. GM of the dealership was totally shocked at the difference between a lowered and tuned sport over a stock ST. 2018 new Sports are still the better financial buy, extremely marked down if you haggle enough and then through the aftermarket parts at it with all the money you saved.
  9. the fact that the exterior looks like it was built by the blind and Ford said it was how it was supposed to look because the rest of the cars on the lot looked like that too

every S model has a drastically improved interior, my point was, you are getting an overall better vehicle for the 20k difference. You compared base edge and base ST to a base q5 and a maxed sq5, base sq5 is lil over 9grand more than base q5. Though, the cars are not even comparable so we are really just wasting screen space here. Having a Base A3 and a top of the line Edge for it's year, it really shows the difference in manufacturing and attention to detail.
  11. though, 15-18 has more than one black paint option

This has nothing to do with my opinion of a ST (pretty sure I never said I hated the ST, I said its a mildly upgraded Sport. To which all the ST fanboys want to say otherwise). its simply about the difference 20k will get you in an Audi compared to 20k in a Ford. Fords materials are the same syntethic leather regardless of pricepoint. Fords quality control (or lack thereof) is gonna be the same regardless of price point. You can get into a titanium Edge and then a ST and everything is going to look like the same material and feel the same to the touch. Other than the steering wheel and blacked out interior above the belt line. Nothing stands out. Im just stating that 20k in a ford wont stand out and spending an extra 20k on an Audi or upgrades on an Audi is a huge difference.

My 17 A3 Was almost 15k cheaper than my 15 Edge Sport but feels like it was 20k more as far as fit/finish/materials

Good thing price was not compared in OP, but it is also a noticable $20k. Where a 30k edge and a 50k edge have zero real noticeable differences in quality/materials.

Audi DSG transmission Vs Fords boring transmission. Audi’s Quattro Vs Fords AWD system Audi clearly blows Ford away in both those catergories and literally every part in the Audi engine bay has aftermarket support. Just a lil 2.0 S3 can run 11s with just a tune and bolt ons.
  16. Anything can made to fit anything with the right amount of money. Intake...meh. Nobody is going to pay the $5-800 That a proper intake will cost. Its pretty evident too cause this motor has been out since 2015 and now sits in two vehicles and STILL no proper intake. Plus if power is what your after, intake should be last on list.
  17. As long as your not an asshole to service dept. you should be good. I had a cracked transmission housing replaced under warranty, with the tune still applied
  18. Id get a kit morimoto kit from theretrofitsource or a kit from diode dynamics ($150-200) with HID, you get what you pay for. Though, the H9 will have the most usable light. HID will put out more lux though
  19. There is a member here with an 11-14 that has a whole thread on the process and everything that us needed. I myself will eventually be taking my 15 to sync3. I cant reference thread from current location though.
  20. Mods? FWD or AWD. Im just trying to understand your reasoning behind the ST being so superior
  21. To answer the change question. The two vehicles are on two different chassis and 5x108 is a more worldwide pattern. Be cheaper to just get proper wheels in the long run.
  22. You didnt try driving the car to see if the CEL would turn off? Or even run a scan to see what the code was? Fuel shouldnt be throwing a code.
  23. Im just curious? What was your previous vehicle? I wont be getting an Edge RS cause it wont be built anytime soon, if ever
