I'm curious too, I was in Lowes or HD the other night and all the power tools now say "brushless"

You would have to look into all the lincoln vehicles for that. I will say, the 2.7 in the fusion seems to have way more issues than it has had in the edge. Which is why they are looking for an engine upgrade. @037 can tell you his dyno #s from his tuned 3.0, I cant recall them.
-
The 2nd gen and 2.5gen is the least liked generation. The 1.5gen is the favorite. Shit, even I like the exterior styling of 1.5gen over all other gens. Just like the 2.7 performance better. The 3.0 does not require any extra work to fit the edge, it already comes in the same CD4 chassis. Fusion Sport members are already entertaining the 3.0 swap.

Too bad we dont want Fords attention, we want aftermarket suppliers
-
we are talking transverse motors, F150 is completely irrelevant. 2011 is first year they put a larger motor in the Sport, so yes it gained attention. 2015 Sport had no Ford Press, no commercials, no catchy social media press kit but tons of online press reviews and all was positive, 2019 ST has had tons of Ford Pres, commercials, gimmicky social media press kits and hardly any online reviews and the few they have aren't really good reviews. If you email some of the people who review vehicles and have not reviewed the ST but did review the Sport, you will probably get the response I got, "Spec sheet is so similar to the Sport, no need to review it." The fusion Sport Forum just found out the ST really existed, they think it's one giant gimmick and think it's highly overrated, specially the brake package, this caused me to actually go look at the brake package. Ford is nuts, they have lost there minds. The official page for Ford says that the calipers are the exact same, just ones red and you get bigger front rotors, vented rears with slotted heat shields (why is slotted heat shields even listed), better brake pads and summer tires along with brushless radiator fan. This is exactly the problem with the ST in my opinion. I can't even understand how somebody would even want to select that option, Fords wording and marketing make you think, giant 4 piston RS Brembos, but all you get is a bigger rotor in reality and to justify the price, we gonna put some slots in the heat shield. ST should have got the 3.0 and the Explorer ST should have got the gen2 3.5. That would have done better, but in reality if it has the blue oval and is not a mustang or f150, it's not getting no real support.

the Q5 group (10k) alone has more centralized members than almost all the top Edge Groups (13k between all those groups) combined. The motor in the ST has been out for almost 5 years, it has yet to garner any real attention.
-
SQ5 has probably 400% more aftermarket parts than all edge gens combined
-
S3 to ST, fuck thats a horrible downgrade in quality My A3 has nothing but S3 parts on it.
-
I should probably read these oldest to newest instead of newest to oldest, would really help me out. That Sport/ST line is dead on, thats what I have been trying to say the whole time. (MONTHS!) This isn't a complete FPV build, it's just trim level now tweaked by FPV. But you can't tell a ST owner that it's just a trim level that replaced the word "sport" Sales and profits, the ruler of all things evil!

Perfect wording Akirby, one of the few times I can honestly say, we are on the same thought process. Ford does not have that middle aged mod happy crowd in the SUV segmant, all those people drive mustangs or f150s and those of us who like the Edge end up screwed.
-
best way I can put it is this, With the Tune is amazing, if you flash back to the stock file (how you bought it) it will feel like you are driving a 3 cylinder geo metro, or a chevy chevette that takes 20 secs to reach 45mph

true statements, I'm just a realist man, Edge Aftermarket History is sketchy, The whole Steeda edge full of aftermarket parts was supposed bring in the young crowd and create an aftermarket buzz for the 2010 Sport, after a few years, Steeda dropped EVERY part they made. Then it was oh shit, they put the mustang motor in the Edge, We can get parts from the V6. Then that never really happened, Then in 2015 it was, oh shit a twin turbo edge and well...same thing has happened. Its a pattern. Yes there is a good chance parts may come. I'm just prepared that what we got is what we got. Though, I am not saying people will chose smaller cars over the Edge, Im stating, those people who buy fiesta/focus ST can't afford a Edge ST and will go to another manufacturer for a sport compact car. I think most people who end up in an Edge, don't have the Edge as a starting point. My wife is the reason we owned our first Edge, and Female design team designed the 2nd Gen and most Edges I see on road are by females. My other complaint is, Ford has this huge marketing campaign talking about the Edge ST as a FPV and first of it's kind. but they are all still images and boring commercials. When Dodge brings out a high performance vehicle, what do they do. They take it to the drag strip and show you what it can do. Ford lacks the connection to the gear heads with the marketing of this ST imo. Though, like you said, we could go on for days.

you are assuming brand loyalty is a thing, I myself, have no favorite brand, I just like certain vehicles. Only vehicle from Ford I like, the Edge.with entry level cars moving away from Ford, Ford is moving those buyers to other manufacturers. The Ford Fusion group on FB, has loads of people driving new Camrys now. And the Fusion Sport Owners who got Lemons, was way too many of them (granted, centralized target since most people just report issues online) moved on to Kia Stingers. shoot, just look at @Livernois Motorsports, no desire to offer anything other than a tune for the most part. No pipes, no exhaust, just a tstat and a tune and the majority of every tuned 15+ is livernois or unleashed if livernois posted how many tuned Edges they have on file, I think the reality would sink in a lot more for people
-
But it is an extremely modded car by Almost every kid in its targeted demographic in the sport compact community. For every one Edge with aftermarket Wheels, there is probably 300 Focus’ on the road with them. The Edge as a whole has zero aftermarket appeal to any major aftermarket parts supplier. Only way to get parts made is small mom and pop type shops which keeps prices extremely high. Even the fusion sport has died out in aftermarket appeal. Edge gets no love, just have to accept it, most of us already have. It could be a hell of a platform.
-
majority, yes...Intercooler, no. shitty idea of an intake from Steeda, no
-
this had nothing to do with the lack of aftermarket parts. I'd say 90% Edge drivers do not mod them, that's pretty obvious in my almost a decade of owning one. Nobody is going to make parts that nobody is going to buy. This is exactly why Eibach and Steeda stopped making parts for the Edge. Shit, Steeda wouldn't even listen to anyone with a 15plus edge to make parts and as soon as the Fusion Sport came out, Steeda bought one and started making parts. H&R already had the springs made from SEMA 15 and still wouldn't mass produce them for the Edge market and finally gave in. All these new guys who bought STs can think, hope, dream for parts to come just cause it's a FPV but, even the SHO/Explorer/Flex has a very limited market when you compare it to the F150/Mustang.
-
That is almost an exact quote of everyone in 2015 when 1. They put a twin turbo in the Sport and 2. Sent 3 vehicles to SEMA. It took almost 3 years of a monthly email to H&R to finally convince them to make springs, which I got the very first set. I suspect by the time Ford only has the Mustang as a car and 15up Sports are $14,000 with 150,000. miles, we may see some parts come. I don't think the ST will make much of a difference for a few years. The ST just doesn't have "IT" and thats where Ford missed. I'd say, more Ford enthusiasts are upset it's an Edge ST in general, though I don't want to venture down this rabbit hole.
-
I'm a realist, I've been driving some form of an Edge for almost a decade. I know a thing or two about waiting on parts and hoping a new platform or Sema show brings parts that never come to reality.
-
hasn't made the site yet, view their facebook, they just fitted a Fusion Sport
-
yeah, you will be waiting a long time. Best bet is to start sourcing fabricators now. Due to design, 3in off the turbo is going to be a crazy mod, will require lots of fab, can go smaller and then out to 3in. an immediate bend at the turbo is the problem. A few Edges are running upgraded turbos now. EcoPower Parts just came out with all hard piping. No intake on market, legit intake will probably never happen on this chassis.
-
you are gonna need, upgraded turbos/fuel pump and a host of other things to make that happen.
-
When did they finally unlock it? From my understanding about a month ago, they had no desire to even offer the Edge 2.0, neither does SCT
-
only one tune is available for the Edge 2.0, so you don't have many options to pick from.

May 6th 2018, my car left Hawaii and sat at a friends house till June 1st. June 2nd, my wife, two teenagers, 1 70lb Lab and 2 cats drove to Abilene, Tx, then drove to Springfield, Mo, then Drove to Harrisburg, Pa. Altogether the trip took a week and over 3,000 miles. You will be fine.
