Raptor Grill for the Edge?
Manish R. Patel replied to nycityjj's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I'd only rock that if I could have the matching medallion around my neck. -
True, keep me in the loop! I forgot to send that stuff to you, i'll do it now before I forget.
-
lol, I'd have considered that but these guys here drill the holes for the front plates as soon as they take delivery so its one of those things. On a side not, did you do the install for the other stuff yet?
-
Its definitely a pain and kills the lines of the front end, but, its the law. I mean, my windows are all tinted which is illegal but they care less about that, the front plate is a biggie for a lot of cops.

73mm BBK throttle body works!!
Manish R. Patel replied to Bob C.'s topic in Accessories & Modifications
I would think no more gas than he was prior being there is a larger quantity of air being taken in, no? I suppose with an increase in power we all get a bit lead footed. I think the mileage thing is something to measure long term so as to settle into normal driving habits. -
Love the color, congrats!

Nice, you should get the accel coilpacks and I take it you already have an intake? -
No worries, I hope you get the truck you want for the right price!

I was reading something about the future Mustang having 3 powerplants. The 3.7 remains as the entry level motor, then a 4cyl Ecoboost that harkens back to like the 86 SVO type cars with a slight increase in power over the 3.7, which should be cool as long as its torquey and then, of course, the Coyote which i believe will get a slight bump. I love my GT, its a monster, but the transmission (MT-82?) is not the best they can offer sadly. But I still love it.

I tried explaining about how many people are using them to my buddy and he tried and tried for an hour or so, but it didn't work. Not sure why, he is a really competent guy and has done hundreds if not thousands of kits. I lined them both up, another guy at the shop even measured the neck of both with a caliper device, you name it, no issues or that which I could see, I just got frustrated with it and told him, forget it. Weird shit. Now I need to find someone semi-local who's done them so they can help me with it because I know the kit cant be bad, perhaps I just need to have someone who's done them before do it for me, or something.

Help with 2012 Edge Sport HID's...
Manish R. Patel replied to KingMike's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Well, we got the stock headlight bulb out, got the dust cap all ready to go and then we notched one of the tabs on the HID bulb so it would go in identical to the stock bulb which we kept putting back in and taking out to see if we were doing it wrong. We then tried to get the HID bulb in there and it wouldn't fit. It was odd. I wasn't the one doing this, a friend of mine owns a garage and they've worked on basically all of my cars over the years and so the competence level is there. He must have tried for an hour to get it in, nothing, I mean we even switched out the colored rubber band on the neck of the bulb just in case it was a matter of clearance or thickness. I actually called Dingo on the phone and he told us to try 2 things, the way in which the bulb was being inserted and then the 9005 bulb instead of the notched 9006 we had been using, same thing, didn't even go in there. I had read about it on the forums before I purchased it so I know it works/fits as many others have it. It was just odd. Dingo made a good point to me though, did I try it myself, I didn't, which I think I should before I contemplate the next step. Maybe there is someone in NJ who's done them so I can compare or get their help with it. Beyond that, not sure. -
Thanks, the photos are one of those things that when I have the time or the stars kinda line up I take some. As far as the HID's, Dingo made a great point about those to me in a conversation he and I had, I did attempt to have someone else install them but didnt try them myself, so I'm gonna do that next before I purchase the Morimoto's. Then we'll see where it goes, but its definitely annoying to have to spend more time than the 20 minutes they usually take to install. As far as the LED lighting, I've not really thought about anything since, I'm one of those types where i gotta get this HID thing going before I move on to the next mini-project. I'll hit you up though at some point in the near future about those. I appreciate your time replying to my email. Thanks.

Thank you, I want to add to this as time goes on, I think perspective and driving style, depending on who might be shopping for it, gives the best idea of how it might work for them specifically.

Help with 2012 Edge Sport HID's...
Manish R. Patel replied to KingMike's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I tried to install the 9006 HID kit today from DDM, didn't work even with one of the three exposed tabs notched, kinda annoyed. Gonna go with the TRS kit I suppose. -
So today went 50/50. So good news, the black chrome lugs went on, those look great, they blend in perfectly with the black centers on the wheels, love the way it looks, should have come like that from the factory. Bad news, the 9006 35watt 4300k DDM HID kit, even with one of the tabs trimmed properly, didn't fit. We also tried a 9005 bulb after Dingo's recommendation, also didnt fit. Couldnt figure out why, even had Dingo from down in GA on the phone with my mechanic friend. So, it looks like I'm gonna end up getting the same set Dingo got from TRS, the Morimoto and see how that goes. Kind of frustrated with it. Oh well. But just an update.

Thank you sir!

Was out and about and thought hey, I'm in a park, and look, I have one of my cameras! And, back in my spot! Oh, and this guy was in the background in the park (As you can tell, its cold out).
-
Okay, I think I got it now, i set up the remote start attributes for climate. Thanks for the heads up, I would have totally just kind of overlooked it. I guess it wont be that cold here again until the coming December so I have a whole year to tear up the truck before I know its total capabilities with winter mode!

So the chirp basically, barring disconnecting the horn, will not go away. Thats fine, its a feature to prevent being locked out, a reminder that the vehicle is running and other things I'm sure. I suppose that's just the way it works or the fed has intended. As far as starting it up in the morning, I generally do it from inside the house simply only because through the settings it runs the defroster etc... for me for the 10 minute duration of the remote start up. Can't you do the same to prevent both having to scrape the windows and setting off the chirp that wakes up the little guy? I wish I could get the heated seat to work on remote start-up, that would be a godsend. Maybe I need to dive into the settings more.
