  1. - Ordering all 4 bearings today (Why? I don't feel like going down the proverbial rabbit hole chasing bearings when they go out which was the same rationale I used for replacing all 4 rotors and brake pads) - Looking at new LED reverse bulbs and turn signal bulbs - Ordering new puddle lamps from Don - Researching new headlight assemblies - Oil Change and Trans Fluid Flush - Changing Cabin Air Filter to a K&N Non-Edge related project(s) - Upgrade my 5th Gen iPod's storage to a SSD - Upgrade the motherboard and memory on my home theater computer
  2. I believe that the fuses are #17 (Left Headlight) and #18 (Right Headlight) on the inside fuse panel. I keep 20 A fuses in my glove box for that inevitability as I learned this issue occurred with my 2008 even when I switched to a CANBUS ballast.
  3. Your ballast may have bit the dust. Also check to see if the fuse blew for that bulb. I have had both happen on mine.
  4. I had Yokohama YK540s before the Kumhos and would put them on par with the original Michelin Latitudes.
  5. Congrats on the new car. Enjoy!
  6. Update: I am going to go for replacing all 4 bearings at the same time. The rationale for this is my disdain for having to deal with the domino effect. I'd rather make sure that all are working fine versus replacing one and then another weeks or months later. I already spoke with the dealer and they want $675 (Labor) for all 4 to be replaced. The parts are going to be somewhere around $400 from AutoAnything.
  7. Why do you think the first gens eat them like that?

  9. I am looking at either of these: http://www.autoanything.com/wheel-bearings-hubs-seals/timken-wheel-bearingor Centric

  12. Is it normal for these vehicles to exhibit a wheel bearing noise toward the right rear? I had a friend with a 1st Gen that has a very loud noise. Now, mine is starting to make the same noise. What I am learning is that the fronts have regular bearings but the rears would require replacing the entire hub assembly. Could someone give me some clarity on this?
  13. Which brake fluid did you use when doing the swaps? I now have Prestone DOT3 Synthetic.

  15. That won't be called MKX anymore. Its new name is Nautilus.
  16. This is the first time I have used a PowerStop product. Guaranteed I will be back! These brakes have better bite than stock and ordering from AutoAnything was a breeze. My findings: a) You can tell that these rotors are higher quality than stock. They reminded me of the Brembos I ordered for my 1994 Maxima. They were definitely meaty. After bedding, they are so much smoother than the originals. So far, the pads have not dusted despite the amount of bite they have. However, these are ceramic pads. c) They will send the kit to you in two boxes. The heavier of the two is the front set. The lighter box is the rears. d) Some may say I went a little overboard with replacing all 4 rotors. Truthfully, I think it was a better decision because, since I did buy this Edge used, I wanted to ensure even wear and mitigate any potential issues down the road (Especially when driving back home on I-17).
  17. Unfortunately, No. However, the new brakes have finally bedded and I am much happier with the performance.
  18. The install went pretty smoothly. I like this setup. I will share my findings when the pads are broken in.
  19. Nope. They were Duralast (AutoZone) I can believe that about rocks/debris. Especially since I had to replace a windshield recently.
  20. Speaking of Pirelli, I almost pulled the trigger on trading these tires in on some Scorpion Verdes. However, the price for upgrading would have been nearly $500. Replacing the Kumho: $25. I am almost inclined to see if I can cop that Bridgestone I am using for a temporary tire as a full sized spare.
  21. While we were changing the pads and rotors on the Edge yesterday, we found something interesting. First, let me fill you in on the details. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that the Edge was sounding like an El Train in Chicago when I hit the brakes. Inside, I heard the sound of metal on metal. The noise was coming from the passenger side rear. When we changed the rotor, I saw where the inside looked like it was scored pretty badly. Then, I got to look at the pad and noticed that a sizable chunk of pad had sheared off which led to the metal on metal contact. I am wondering what would have caused part of the pad to shear off.
