  1. I know it's been a while but..... - Getting the chrome piece on the grille between the headlights replaced because it came off during a car wash - Checking to see why I am getting PS noise when starting up - Getting oil changed - Looking at replacing battery (I hate that O'Reilly's stopped the 5 year warranty for one of their batteries)
  2. Update: I have gotten the Motorcraft bearings for the front wheels. Will be installing them soon.
  3. When it comes to watching video, that's what my smartphone and tablet are for.....lbvs
  4. Agreed. But the Charger from the original Fast and the Furious was badass in its own right.
  5. Yesterday: Ordered new front bearings (Motorcraft) from Rock Auto. Plan to order rears soon. Today: Gets a bath.
  6. They have a different dust boot you can buy to aid in ventilation.
  7. PSA: If you can do so, keep a spare ballast and bulb handy (I actually have 2). With many aftermarket kits, these items may fail, Also, keep some fuses on hand because they may blow.
  8. Update: I should be getting my refund today. I will be ordering the Motorcraft bearings from Rock Auto.
  9. Check your pads and the caliper. What kind of pads? If it's a wheel bearing, you are going to hear the noise at speed and the sound will diminish under braking.
  10. Since this is also a video iPod, I was leaning toward the 256 but may consider the 128 since i mainly store music on it.
  11. Last night: Changed HID ballast and Fuse #17 Today: Gets its first post-detail wash
  12. Latest update: I finally got it opened and can see that I am definitely going to need a new rear cover because I had to be somewhat aggressive in getting it off. I also located the battery and plan to replace that with a 3000 mah battery. The only decision now is capacity. I am still debating going with either a 128 GB or 256 GB SSD.
  13. chef: Correct. Mine is a 3.5L, FWD, 18" wheels with MFT. No BAMR but a roof rack, though.
  14. Following up on my wheel bearing issue Apply Back to Black to the Wiper Cowl Sunday: Big Detail Day (Including the engine)
  15. That is the exact rationale for the decision. However, like when GM dropped models like the Impala SS, it's one that may come back to bite them. For instance, people like me are not going over to Nissan (Not a huge CVT fan), nor Toyota (can't fit into anything comfortably short of a Sequoia or Tundra). That leaves GM, Lincoln, or Chrysler. As for the police departments, they are going to go where they get the best deal. For instance, the AZ Hwy Patrol mostly runs Explorers and Tahoes. You rarely see a Taurus Interceptor but still see plenty of P71 Crown Vics. On top of that, you will see a handful of Expeditions, Mustang 5.0s and F-Series. Phoenix, on the other hand has some Explorers. However, the fleet is mostly Tahoes, and Caprice PPVs. Besides, the vehicles themselves, one of the biggest expenses for any police department is actually the lighting and upfitting. For example, the cost of a Federal Signal Valor lightbar (LED) configured for DPS is over $5000 a piece.
  16. Exactly, Mine is a Gen 1.5 with almost 160k. I am also working with the vendor to see where they went wrong because when the original was removed, there was no plastic cover over that tone ring. That's another thing I am finding confusing. If that's supposed to be there, why did it come off?

    The Kill Zone

This is actually more fun than the Kill Zone we had on the Maxima Forum due to the fact people don't expect Edges to be that quick. Maximas tend to be more dangerous on a roll than from a dig.
  18. Spoke with Auto Anything and their distributor. Auto Anything is reaching out to Timken to see why these bearings did not have the ABS/Speed sensor ring. I am following up with them today to see where they are. In the meantime, I am going to print the mailing labels for these bearings and send them back for a refund.
  19. Update: The bearings MUST have those ridges. I am returning these bearings going with the SKFs at Rock Auto when I get my refund. Also double checking with Timken.
  20. Your OEM tire was the Michelin Latitude HP (245/60/18, 104H). My tires since have not been a 104 load rating but a 105. The Kumhos are V-rated. The Yokos were H.
  21. Spoke with Mac yesterday and he said they aren't. I am quite curious as to why the original part had a ridged ring, Even after watching MacT's video, I did see some slight ridges on his original hub/bearing. I did see that the AWD ones do not have that ridge. I am also going to check with my parts vendor to double verify.
  22. Are the new bearings supposed to have a ridged ring for the ABS sensor? The Timkens I got do not have them.
  23. Better question is what your budget is. For instance, I inquired about the same for my 2011 Limited and the total bill was anywhere from $3000-$4000 which includes the following: a) Replace stock front speakers and A pillar tweeters with 6.5" JL Audio C3s Replace stock rears with JL Audio C3s c) Add Rockford Fosgate 360.3 for integration with My Ford Touch d) Add JL Audio HD 900/5 amp e) Add JL Audio 13" Thin Subwoofer to go into place where the stock 8" is along with box building) f) Dynamatting/Sound insulation g) Wiring ...and the labor to put it all in
