You will need a module that allows you to use the steering wheel controls in order to control the head unit from the steering wheel.

Mike: Savini is one of those brands that makes the wheels from scratch. From the looks of it, she went with a forged wheel which does look pretty slick on a first gen Edge.
-
The tire size is 235/65/17. Same as the first gen Edge with those painted rims. The 20s are 245/50/20.

......or tweeters, 5x7s in front and rear door, 3.5" in center of dash, 3.5"s in D pillar (2), and Subwoofer = 12 speakers according to Ford

New Audio system in and it sounds awesome!!

Thanks for the info. I am considering the C5 5x7 components and 5x7 coaxes for the rear. As for Rockford, I like the 360.3 because of the ability to equalize each channel with 31 bands. Plus, I can do this either connected via USB or wirelessly via Bluetooth. I was considering their shallow mount 10" sub but after hearing the stealthbox, I decided to go in that direction. Much cleaner bass. -

You do have a similar setup like I was considering. How do you like the C5 6.5" vs the 5x7 components? -

Just read about the Audison Bit One and it's got nearly the same functionality as the Rockford Fosgate 360.3 that I am looking at for my install. -

I am looking at a Stealthbox. However, I have the sub which will not require hacking the stock enclosure. According to the instruction manual for the Stealthbox, there would be some modification of the side panel if you didn't have the sub. -
Dingo: I have that already Cdpratt: Let's just say your wife might be at the courthouse getting ready to file the papers.

Got the quote and definitely would need paramedics on standby for the wife. However, this system would sound hundreds of times better than the factory system.

In the not too distant past, Arizona had speed cameras all over the Phoenix metro area. For instance, if you traveled west on I-10, you would see cameras within a 2-5 mile distance of one another until you got wayyyyy out of Phoenix. However, they took the cameras down due to the fact they weren't making the revenue they had hoped. But if you got flashed, just a $181 fine, no points.

Whenever I back my car up in a very low light area, the picture displayed from the backup camera is extremely grainy. Does anyone else have that problem?

I hung around Sounds Good to Me for more than an hour and actually got to listen to a few of the pieces I want. The sub is changing (again) to a 10" Stealthbox which will fit in the stock location w/o hacking any parts. For giggles, we played around with a set of Bostons that were close to the C5s in quality and a 10W7 which gave a fair representation of how things would sound in the car. I would like to go back there and model the whole thing before installing it so we can get an idea of how it's really going to sound. Freakiest thing: I tested the JL Audio 6" microsub and that thing sounded 10x better than the Rockford Fosgate P3 Shallow Mount Sub. I kept going "WTF?!?" the whole time.

Same here.

Maybe we can meet up and have the first Edge Meet and Sound Off. lol

Sounds Good To Me in Tempe is starting to Edge (pun intended) the other two. One thing that I find refreshing is that they want to ensure that they don't make any mistakes on my install by working with someone who has a great deal of experience with Fords, Sync, and MFT. Additionally, a tech from Rockford Fosgate wants to be involved due to the install of the 360.3. I am going to meet with them again this afternoon so we can go over the particulars and I will give the full rundown on everything.

I just want to know when.

Things are slowly starting to take shape from the component lists. Soundwerks has a decent idea of rocking JL Audio C5-570 coax speakers in all 4 doors and replacing the tweeters in the A pillars SoundXpression has a good idea for using the Rockford P3 10" Shallow Mount Sub I may check with SoundXpression to see their thoughts on the C5-570/tweeter combo. Also going to check out a place right around the corner from where I work called Sounds Good to Me in Tempe.

I am wondering what it would take for the 2011 Edges to get App Link. New head unit?
-
Then, the sub decision may orient toward the original choice of the Rockford Fosgate shallow mount sub. When you put your 10" shallow mount, did you have to modify the side panels? Soundwerks wants to cut up my side panels and try to make it look stock. I am not trying to hack anything visible up on the Edge.

I like the 8w7 but am concerned about mounting depth and my desire to stay totally stock without having to tear up my back panels. Is the space where the current 8" woofer sits deep enough to handle the 8w7 without modification to my panels?
