  1. Had a different kit in my 2008 Edge and transferred the Canbus ballasts from the high beams to my 2011 and bought the 5k bulbs, the DRL harness, and the warning canceller. Works fine.
  2. I had a similar issue with our 2008 but it actually turned out to be the fan itself that was going bad. Unfortunately, you cannot replace one fan as it is 2 fans in a single unit. My wallet took a $600 hit from that repair.
  3. My Edge had halogen DRLs. As previously mentioned, the Edge was a California car where the law requires DRLs. I tried connecting everything w/o the modules and wound up blowing at several 10A fuses for the headlights.
  4. That will be exactly what you need. Mine is a unique vehicle as it was a California titled vehicle where DRLs are required by law. It required all of those items to get everything to work properly without blowing fuses, etc.
  5. Got the LED backup lights and switchback bulbs installed. Both are working perfectly. Currently waiting for my 5k puddle lamps and 5k vanity mirror bulbs.
  6. I am not Canadian but my Edge has the exact issue where the headlights are used for DRLs. This is exactly what I used for my setup: 5K 9006/9012 HID Kit with Canbus Ballasts: http://shop.3bspecialties.com/3BSpec-9006-Xenon-HID-Kit-5000k-HID-9006-5k.htm Warning Cancelers: http://shop.3bspecialties.com/3BSpec-Warning-Canceler-Modules-HID-WarningModule.htm DRL Module: http://shop.3bspecialties.com/DRL-Modules-HID-DRLmodule.htm Works perfectly fine.
  7. Just got my 6K Type 1 Switchbacks and my LED backup lights. Will be installed this evening.
  8. There are various threads on this. The quality of DDM's stuff has been hit or miss lately and YMMV.
  9. If you are, let me know in this thread. Maybe we can form a league.
  10. I'll bite. Given that I have owned two Edges, I am wanting something to reflect that and the fact my 2008 had 105k when I traded it.
  11. One thing I recall when I put HIDs on my 2008 Edge was that I had to make sure that the ballasts were digital because of the nature of the Edge's electrical system. Also, check your fuses to make sure they did not blow.
  12. Once the personal issues subside, I am considering two options Option 1 - Do it all at once. Benefit will be that everything is done and tuned. Option 2 - Do it in stages. Benefit is that my wallet won't take a huge hit at one time. I am leaning toward option 1 becaue I don't feel like making multiple trips.
  13. EGR: Is tinted the only way to get the hood deflectors? If not, what are the options?
  14. Mooshin: We do not but I agree that it's sorely needed.
  15. Project on hold for a while due to personal reasons. Will resume shortly.
  16. My possible guess is that the ballasts from your HID kit are not digital. The first gen Edges require digital ballasts due to the nature of the electrical system.
  17. Yeah, I am curious about that as well since I will periodically drive mine to Chicago.
  18. wlepse: To me, the Edge's V6 has as much refinement as the Murano's VQ35 or even the BMW's 6 in the X5.
  19. Tequila: I had a 2008 Edge SE before my 2011. With 105k on the clock, I got $12,000 on trade. No loyalty discounts or rebates, either. This alone causes me to take CR's opinions worth a grain of salt when it comes to these vehicles. I enjoyed my 2008 Edge and am having a ball with my 2011.
  20. Brock: I wouldn't say that. Considering I am shopping for something similar, I am realizing that the costs are coming from the components as well as install.
  21. Now, I am very curious as to why. It would be something that would be very practical to have for our systems.
