  1. I like the front but the X6 treatment would not work for me.
  2. How about someone south of the border who had DRLs on a US Spec Edge? That was my issue and I had to order all of those pieces to get everything to work. I also used two Canbus ballasts that were on the high beams of my 2008 Edge.
  3. Z06: Thanks for the info. I am actually looking for answers to both. You stated it was a medium clearcoat and it responded to Meguiars M205 with a rotary. What RPM did you have the rotary at? Which pad did you use?
  4. richy: I actually own 4 polishers (two rotary, two random orbital). Two of them (PC 7336 and Harbor Freight Rotary) are in Chicago. The ones down here with me are a Porter Cable 7428 rotary and an Ultimate Detailing Machine Random Orbital (Has the same feel as a PC 7336). Microfibers? I have a LOT of them in both places. In fact, I just picked up some Blackfire Microfiber cleaner and conditioner today. Will give my feedback on how it works. Pads? I have Meguiar's and Sonus Foam pads down to 4" pads that I use for buffing the glass. Detailing products: I personally have items by P21S, Klasse, Autoglym, Sonus, Einszett, Pinnacle, S100, Meguiar's, 303, Menzerna, Poorboys, Rain-X (Just picked up some of their bug and tar remover)....to name a few. I realize that no car corrects the same, regardless of make. However, I wanted to know the clearcoat type so that I can correct the finish properly. I don't want to attack this with something as potent as Menzerna Power Gloss when I may not have to.
  5. e.g. Headers and I would like to guinea pig them.
  6. Oh yeah, if we want to go with FI, we need some kind of transmission upgrades including cooling.
  7. Hello, Brandon. Please bring back the strut tower brace. I am highly interested in buying one.

Can't really understand that one either. Especially since I see a TON of Edges around PHX.
  9. What are the dimensions to use an image as wallpaper? I have quite a few I could use.
  10. Spoke with the shop this morning and was advised that this and a few minor repairs would set me back $4k due to the fact it would be a 3 stage paint job. The bulk of the costs were from refinishing and painting the lower panels.
  11. mtbalser, One of the definitive criteria I am looking at for my driving/fog lights is that they are HID. As previously stated, driving in AZ presents its own set of challenges. a) I-17 from Camp Verde to Flagstaff: Pitch black, mountainous, and no guard rails at some points. It does snow at higher altitudes. AZ 87 from Chandler to Coolidge: Pitch black....period c) I-10 between Casa Grande and Tucson: Pitch black....period d) Severe thunderstorms during monsoon season sometimes preceeded by.... e) Dust Storms sometimes like the one from this July pictured below...
  12. Recanting what I previously said, these Hellas are on my list: http://www.myhellalights.com/index.php/default/auxiliary-lamps/xenon-lamps/micro-de-premium-xenon/
  13. Canuck, I went through the thread and never found an answer as to the type of clearcoat on the 2011 Edge. I need to know this before I start diving in to detail the exterior.
  14. Should have seen the claybar. Out of the package, it was a light green. It was a shade of black afterward.
  15. The best way to test the depth of the scratch is to run your fingernail across the scratch. If your nail gets caught in the scratch, it is too deep to buff out successfully.
  16. Which polishing compound? That's one step you have to be VERY careful with, rotary or not.
  17. Not so much the paint as the type of clearcoat. I know some folks that take this so seriously that they have invested in paint gauges to tell the thickness of the clearcoat before they start buffing.
  18. Nubianlori, since you are in the same general area as I am (SE Valley), I have to ask the question of the battery's age. Two years is the average a battery will last in AZ due to the infamous heat. Also, which dealer did you take it to?
  19. Now that personal issues are starting to subside, the project (and others) are starting to pick up. Of course, things may change with the exception of the shop.
  20. The PIAA fogs have amber lenses which will help me with the dust storms we occassionally have down here. I did look at the Hellas but the packaging wasn't as neat as the PIAA (e.g. Internal Ballast).
