How much did it cost? -
Ford Edge limited or Hyundai Santa Fe limited
PrinzII replied to Roxy Bear's topic in Competing Crossovers & Vehicles
The Santa Fe comes with two four cylinder engines and an optional 6. 190-hp 2.4L or 264-hp 2.0T DOHC 16-valve CVVT engines V6 generates 290 hp and 252 lb.-ft. of torque The Edge comes with a 240 hp turbo 4 banger or a 285 hp V6 The only Santa Fe that can get the 6 cylinder is the three row version. -
The picture I showed was a person who used two different tints for his windshield. The bottom is the Airblue 80.

If you disconnect and reconnect your drive, the system will have to index the music which is what's responsible for your lag. As another poster said, the processors for mobile have not caught up with mainstream PCs (save for those with carputers or a MacMini). I have an 80 GB iPod and a 120 GB WD drive. I can use either one to play music from after they index.

Ryan, Welcome to the forum. Most of the guys on here use conversion kits. Case in point, I use a 35w 9006 kit. HID kits come in three wattage levels. The first is 35w. A 35w kit has the distinct advantage in that a separate harness to the battery is not needed. Pretty much plug and play. The second is a 50 or 55w kit. These have a more intense output but require a separate relay harness for the battery in order to provide consistent power. Where it can get confusing is color temperature, referred to as K or Kelvin. The optional HIDs for the Edge are between 4150K and 4300K which is white with a very slight hint of blue or yellow. I have a 5000K which is white with a very small hint of blue. Most of us on here have 4000K - 6000K kits. The thing to remember is that when you go higher in color temperature, your light output measured in lumens suffers. Most popular kits: Morimoto HID kit: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=3957 (Highest quality kit here) DDM kits have a very hit or miss history around these parts

It's the latch. If the WD-40 does not work, take it to the dealer to have them replace it.

It's actually quite nice. Many people who have seen my Edge are very shocked when I tell them my windshield is tinted. The tint I have is Llumar AirBlue 80 and most folks think it's the stock windshield. The above pic was taken from a Smart car Forum where a member tinted his windshield mostly with AirBlue 80. As you can see, the clarity is there and it definitely does not interfere with night driving (and I have driven in some pitch black areas).

I am curious about reliability as well. My wife has been drooling over them.
-
Well dang... even kinda surprised myself! (off topic)

Congrats. -
In PHX, there are a LOT of Edges running around. The distribution is 50/50 as well. However, 2nd Gen Sports are not that plentiful down here but the other trims are. In fact, I do run into Limiteds like mine quite often.

I know someone that is getting one. I can't wait to check it out up close.

Nice story and pics. As far as the bridge thing is concerned, it would not bother me as I am originally from Chicago which has a TON of bascule bridges like that one.

Sounds like if I was to move my Edge from Arizona back to IL and then live in the City of Chicago (IL Use Tax and Chicago City Tax). Although the numbers are not as extreme as foreign countries, the pain is still the same.

Led Light bar install

Of, if you have the crossbars for the roof rack, mount a low profile LED light bar there. -
Led Light bar install
PrinzII replied to 2Close2TheEdge's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
On a humorous note, after a drive to Buckeye, AZ Saturday night, my wife told me that she would NEVER argue with me on the subject of lighting again. She quickly understood why I installed HIDs and want this bar. That area was so dark it reminded me of parts of MS that were pitch black. -
After pricing the LED bar, I waltzed down to the nearby car audio shop. I liked what he was thinking with the front stage but was not too keen on disconnecting my dash and d-pillar speakers. He did recommend a set of Focals, though.

I stopped at the shop yesterday to look at the license plate mount and an LED bar. Long story short, this is NOT a cheap proposition. My cost is $925 for everything installed and 4 hrs of my time. However, the light output of the bar I chose makes this all worth the cost. -

Those just got dropped to #2 on my list. The LED bar has taken the top spot. -
From the looks of things, my old Edge is still ticking and in the area. http://ww.vinexplorer.com/Ford-24/Edge-847/2008/2FMDK36C88BA38242.html ...at the VW dealership? http://www.myautosearch.com/index/vehicle-details/vin/2FMDK36C88BA38242/2008-Ford-Edge/Phoenix-.-85297

Turns out it's an issue with the latch.

I am looking at this for mine. Planning to investigate shortly.... I want to hang mine under the front license plate bracket. -

When I went to the NHRA event in Phoenix, I found an off-road shop that would install something similar. I am planning to check that out.
