  1. I drove to Tucson yesterday and it was 100+ outside. The tires held up very well, even with my "spirited" driving. My back seat passengers remarked on how smooth the ride was. My wife agreed and understood why I wound up choosing these over the Pirellis. As for the fuel economy, it has dropped around 1 mpg.
  2. I installed one in my 2011 Limited. As stated, it only took a few minutes.
  3. I saw the video atop this post. It is very wierd that a Type 2 would behave that way.
  4. Recommended harness is the one from TRS. From what I have been reading, the DDM harness is not that good.
  5. Wannabang, I am going through a ballast issue with my vendor but he's sending me a new one along with two bulbs (not free due to them being out of warranty). But judging by what I read, that's a little too much just to verify that a ballast has gone bad when all that may be required is to switch the ballasts around to see if that's the culprit. In fact, it reminds me of toning a network jack. The next question is how much they are charging for that ballast. Are you still within warranty?
  6. When I got my 2011, it had DRLs but was not Canadian (Found out that Cali had a DRL law). After I got the capacitor and warning canceller, my HIDs worked fine.
  7. For those who have halogen lights, here are a couple of options.... a) Buy a HID kit with 9012 bulbs (TRS/Morimoto would be your best bet) Buy the HID headlight assemblies, D3S HID kit
  8. You may also shop for Audi D3S bulbs as they will fit the stock Edge D3S housing.
  9. Been researching this topic because I am considering a conversion (Changing the assembly to the stock HID assembly and adding a D3S Kit). The challenge is finding the D3S bulbs. The bulbs are not going to be cheap and I personally do not recommend going with Ebay or Amazon specials. Known brands (e.g. Phillips, Denso or Sylvania (Osram)) only.
  10. Been using 89 on both my 2008 and my 2011. Nary a problem.
  11. Hauling Yokohama YK580s to tire shop Pics of Yokohama YK580s on the Edge
  12. After it was discovered that I had a bad set of Pirelli Scorpion Verdes, Discount Tire suggested to me that I should give the Yokohama YK580s a try. Point blank, I should have went with these tires from the jump. The first thing I noticed was that these tires are as quiet as the stock Michelin Latitudes but more than $50 cheaper. Trust me, that is a huge compliment. I like the handling and road feel these tires have. I have never driven any tire on an Edge that possessed these qualities short of a performance tire. I have not had an opportunity to try the wet weather traction yet. I will let you guys know about these tires as the miles add up.
  13. Yep. Entire set. So far, the Yokos are riding like the Latitudes.
  14. Update: Pirellis are being replaced with Yokohama YK580s. Tech went with me for a test drive. Found vibration issues after replacing the faulty tire.
