  1. I do have a set of these on mine and can say I like these way better than the Pirelli Scorpion Verdes I was originally looking at. The gripe about the reduction in mileage is true when driving around the city. However, I did average 22-24 mpg on a trip to Chicago with 3 people and a fully loaded Edge. Coming back, the mileage dropped to 19 due to the loaded storage bin on top adding drag.
  2. I like the feature on the Equinox where you can set the height of how far the tailgate opens. Are they planning to incorporate that for the Edge?
  3. The Explorer and Taurus Interceptors are used by Arizona DPS. Two officers I talked with loved the Explorers.
  4. Dominatron: I am currently running a HID kit with 9006 bulbs and they fit with no issues. Some folks report having to trim one of the tabs in order to get it to fit.
  5. Rest assured, I am getting the LED bar to go with all of these lighting upgrades.
  6. I like the ones by Oracle but I am wondering if we would need the resistor harness considering the pickiness of the electrical system. Plus, I want to get Dan's LED taillights which means I will need resistors there as well.
  7. I just got an email on these. They are claiming 4500 lumens/side. http://www.vleds.com/headlights.html?series=918&mc_cid=9535282791&mc_eid=6941a65c04
  8. My current HIDs are 3200 lumens but I am always interested in higher output, especially if it does not come at the expense of current draw. I am researching these LED headlights which are 4400 lumens but want to see if they will play nice with the Edge's electrical system. http://www.oraclelights.com/automotive-lighting-products/ORACLE-LED-Headlight-Fog--DRL-Bulbs/ORACLE-5202-LED-Headlight-Replacement-Bulbs
  9. Greetings from central AZ.
  10. FYI: The Mustang Cafe is in different hands. I am going to miss the old owner's lemon bars.
  11. Trust me, I drove a LOT in Central and Southern IL back in the day. I do understand. Even with the HIDs on high beam, my wife nearly had a fit because she could not see the lines on the road clearly at night. I actually showed the LED bar to the wife and she gave the green light for getting the bar. I am contemplating the 18" or the 11" VisionX XMitter Prime with 40 degree LEDs. However, the demo had a yellow lens cover but that did not diminish the light output.

Cellbine: What do you use for your videos and editing?
  13. Mileage: 92,000+ after return It did behave itself on this trip. However, the calls for improved lighting got amplified driving through TX, OK, NM, and Northern AZ.
  14. Mine is named after my wife. The difference is when I have to always say "Martha (The Edge) versus Martha (the wife)" to differentiate the two.
  15. Update: I posted a similar review of this dealership on Yelp and, to my surprise, their manager met with me to address my concerns. As a result, they got the aftermarket guys to meet with me and to give me a quote on the mats I wanted. There have been changes in personnel but they still offer the same service. Plus, they don't try to upsell me (partially because they know me pretty well).
  16. gv: Did they replace the door latch for your "door open" issue?
  17. Just got the new R&T and Car and Driver mags. According to what I have read, these are the engine choices: 250+ hp turbo 4 cylinder 305 hp naturally aspirated 3.5L 6 320 hp TT 2.7L 6 (Sport Only) Things get better......
  18. I forgot to mention that the XMT180 has a smell similar to grape Kool-Aid.
  19. I was going to get it washed yesterday until I started seeing dark clouds and the wind was picking up. Seeing that we are in "monsoon season", I thought better and decided to wait until another day to get it washed.
  20. Sorry I am late chiming in but you should be perfectly fine with the Type 1s. I have had mine for two years and they have held up well, even with two brutal AZ summers.
  21. I am now at 82k with the 2011 Edge.
  22. A short time ago, I actually did apply Klasse (AIO and Sealant Glaze) and topped it with Pinnacle's XMT180 on the gloss black part of the dash/console. Has a very nice, clean, and shiny look. Outside of that, it's too darned hot here to do what I really want to do. In fact, the temps got up to 113 yesterday.
