  1. Reminds me....time to watch that transmission flush video
  2. Add another $75 for car rental fees. Upside: Rental vehicle is a 2014 Limited in Magnetic.
  3. My exact reaction........ :swear: :swear: My wallet's reaction
  4. Verdict: Compressor, Accumulator, and other parts. Total damage: $2246.34
  5. Nope. I did see some oddball smoke from the right side of my car and, after opening my hood, I smelled a metallic burnt odor. Possible compressor clutch.
  6. Had to take it to the dealer because the A/C went out on a day that it was 110+........not fun
  7. Got it. On my ever growing list of maintenance items......lol
  8. Sounds crazy but can you tell me the kind of ballast you are running? Some older types of ballasts have been known to wreak havoc like that.
  9. Perf: Spark plug change was done at 90K. I can say the air filter should need a change (Changed a few months ago) but I have not had the PCV valve changed. Might have to look at the PCV valve. Have not run FI cleaner in the Edge at all.
  10. Caveat: When you go over 6000K-8000K, you will need that 55W ballast to make up for the lower light output of the higher color temps.
  11. Omar, this is a very interesting post and has me thinking about that as well. I am also wondering if the percentage of ethanol added to many gasolines have an effect on MPG. To give you an idea, I normally fill up with 89 Octane because premium is at different octane levels across the country. For instance, Arizona's premium is 91 octane. New Mexico is 92/93 but their low end is 85. When I drove to Chicago from Phoenix, I used mid-grade for the most part. There were certain points I jumped to premium and saw a difference in mileage. I also noticed that certain brands tend to fare better than others in our vehicles. For instance, Chevron goes through our Edge like water. Shell and Arco do not.
  12. In my case, all that I have been doing is driving and getting her washed. As it sits, she's almost at 110,000 and still running like a top.
  13. I have had the same HID set in my '08 and transferred the ballasts to my '11. I would have issues with ballasts going out from time to time but I could attribute that to the combination of engine heat and Arizona heat. My actual next step is going with the VLEDs LED kit because I need something that throws more light, especially when traveling on Interstates 10, 17, and 40.
  14. The two systems are different. A home system pulls electricity from the grid and powers the a/c. In the case of a car system, the car's engine powers the a/c which can add drag, thus increasing fuel consumption.
  15. In reading this post, I thought about the recent issues I have had. Bear in mind, I have done master resets and re-paired my phone (Galaxy S5) and my wife's phone (Galaxy S4). Also tested with an iPhone 5c (Work Phone). a) There are times where we cannot make a call. We issue the voice command but Sync sits there and I have actually had to use voice commands through the phone itself. One of my wife's contacts only shows up as a number in the Edge. The contact shows up normally on the phone. c) I have experienced the "delay" when answering a call. One thing I am curious about is the version of Bluetooth in these vehicles. Could it be an issue where the Bluetooth in the car is (somewhat) behind the phone?
  16. Ford parts does carry a locking plug for the capless tanks.
  17. Keep us posted on the outcome, GNergy. That's one of the lighting mods I am looking at very seriously.
  18. I test drove a 2015 Sport FWD and agree that the torque steer is horrendous. I have never driven a vehicle where torque steer almost rips the steering wheel from my hands. That alone sealed me considering the AWD Sport.
  19. That sounds like fun. The closest I got to that was test driving a Camaro ZL1.
  20. ....or a key switch similar to the C4 Corvette ZR-1
  21. But that's the nature of technology. However, things like this can be prevented proactively.
  22. After reading this article on USA Today's website, I am wondering if Ford is going to look into their systems to prevent the same kind of hacking that FCA was shown. http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2015/07/24/fiat-chrysler-recall-hackers/30617023/
