  1. Plus, you will have to remember that the high beams are governed by a shutter to change the brightness. I currently have HIDs and, as others have said, you have to modify the dust caps to run the wires through. It's easy.
  2. 1. I forgot to mention that we drove the Edge to Flagstaff. Despite climbing almost 6000 feet above Phoenix, it used 1/4 of a tank of gas. 2. Another thing I forgot to mention is that people stop me or my wife and ask questions about Edges. The usual response is "The Edge just got put on our short list of crossovers to consider." We have gotten more compliments on the 2011 than on the 2008. 3) The dealer by me has an Edge with Sync 3. I am going to check it out and determine whether or not this is worth the upgrade to a 2016 or look at the black 2014 Sport that's for sale. For me, the best of both worlds would be to yank out the 3.7, install the 2.7 EB, "tweak" it, add some trans upgrades, upgrade the brakes, and a whole lot of other things..... 4) I may have to create a macbwt type of thread in a bit.....lbvs
  3. Also look at Morel, Focal, and JL Audio for aftermarket speakers. The JL Audio C3 is the best bang for the buck.
  4. Comparing a 2011 Edge to a 1977 Cutlass is akin to comparing an Audi S8 to a Trabant, Yugo, or Lada. Out of the cars I have owned, I tend to compare my Edge to my 2002 Maxima SE as they both had 200+ hp V6s and both were fun to drive. Big difference is that my Edge never saw the shop as much as that Maxima did.
  5. The closest for me was the BMW Drive for the Cure. I literally got to drive almost every BMW during the years they held it.
  6. Update: The Enterprise is gone. However, they do their own rentals. My experience was very pleasant and I found the prices super reasonable. I used them when the compressor went out on my 2011. I rolled out in a 2014 Limited that my wife said rode smoother than our 2011.
  7. That's why I tell anyone moving here that glass coverage is a MUST. For me, this is windshield #4 on the 2011 Edge. If we count both, you are looking at 6 total. It's not just breakage that gets us. We get a lot of pitting from the sandstorms out here.
  8. When running aftermarket HID kits, one of the things that will go out is usually the ballast. Bulbs tend to have a visual warning (they look pinkish or reddish before blowing). Considering I am in an extreme environment (heat), I have had to replace ballasts at least 5-6 times on both Edges.
  9. I get plenty of practice where I am....lbvs
  10. Escalades are hitting between $80,000 and $90,000.
  11. Mine was $200+ for the whole truck and windshield. I have Llumar Pinnacle Series film (ceramic tint). Can't use metallic tint.
  12. I have both Stoners and Sprayway. Both work well on the glass with a microfiber cloth.
  13. I usually run Bosch because I have had good experiences with them. This time, I went with Rain-X. As for the back wiper, I do need to change it.
  14. a) Ran my bike to the bike shop twice over the holiday (Two flats, same tire) Changed my brand of gasoline to Mobil (They are reopening in the Valley!). Edge seems quite happy. c) Sprayed Ozium in it because someone who smelled like a cigar bar stunk it up This week: a) Wiper Blade Replacement. Got one that's starting to come apart.
  15. Here's my unadulterated list.... a) Polyurethane Bushing kit (including motor mounts) Forced induction options c) Coilovers d) Transmission upgrades e) Tune upgrades f) Performance Struts (Hello, Tokico!) g) Steering upgrades See, I don't ask for much.......lol
  16. The only way to get a sunroof is a regular aftermarket sunroof. As others have said, the conversion to a Vista roof is waaaaay more expensive than getting a regular one put in.
  17. Sounds like the shop's fault. They will have to totally redo it.
  18. Today: Car wash, errands, and rest after I get off from work.

    What's Hanging?

Arizona doesn't have that law. Illinois doesn't have that law. California, however, does. In my case, my Samsung cell phone mount to fit either my wife's S4 or my S5 and my V1 suction cup bracket.

    Tuning

I am wondering if the tuners can do some "tweaking" to the transmission for things like shift points.
  21. Good news..... The tab for the repairs was $100 cheaper than originally quoted. It cost me $2094 for the repairs. They took me back to see the old compressor and the rubber seal somehow burned itself off. Additionally, I saw where the compressor oil was leaking. I did a quick test spin and felt resistance. Also, my rental car was $50. Now, I am blowing cool air again. Good thing because it's been almost 120 out here.
