Here's the latest.... a) Left HID bulb went out. Changed fuses (blew 2, lost 1 in the process) and then changed bulb to Halogen. Looks like I am either going to get the bulbs from Dan, my original guy, or going straight to 4500 lumen LED. Wife's iPod wasn't working in the car and she REALLY wanted to hear the new Adele album (Me....not so much). Until I could get to it, I put Adele on a flash drive and wifey was satiated. After doing master resets, I had to reset/reboot her iPod and it now works. c) Already looking for new tires. The YK580s are approaching 50K since I installed them. d) Polished and waxed the interior console using Klasse All In One and Pinnacle XMT 180 e) Polished black trim on B Pillars and rear window using Klasse All In One Bonus: Went on VisionX's website and saw that the price of the LED bar I wanted dropped DRASTICALLY.......

Are your headlights Halogen or HID (High Intensity Discharge (Xenon))?

I am going to check the VLEDs kit installed on another Edge compared to my 3200 lumen HID kit.

Not interested in 3000 lumens. For me, it's 4500 or bust.

Shopping for headlight upgrade. So far, VLED's LED headlamps are in the lead.

Planning to order some new puddle lights.

Growing up, I had access to various Cadillacs, Lincolns, Mercedes, and a Jaguar. Later in life, I drove BMWs, Porsches, and a Lexus or two. Two of the BMWs I drove were X5s (6 cyl and 8 cyl) which happened to be the Edge's target vehicle when they were developing it.

I did this update a few days ago on my 2011 Edge with no issues.

One of mine got curb-rashed by the wife. I am looking at the same thing. If I can replace the skins, I'd be better off.

I have Yokohamas on mine and they are still fine nearly 30-40,000 miles later. However, the YK580 (for some unknown reason) is not available in 245/50/20. I wish it was, though.

Seems like they got the QC issues worked out. Last year, I bought these tires and had a horrific vibration at highway speeds. No amount of balancing and/or alignment (even Roadforce balancing) could fix the issue. The tire shop replaced one tire (Still had vibration) and, ultimately, the whole set (still had vibration). After a while, I gave up on these tires and went with Yokohama YK580s. No problems since.

.....well, those of us who have watched "Hee Haw" will also get it.;...lol

Plus, you will have to remember that the high beams are governed by a shutter to change the brightness. I currently have HIDs and, as others have said, you have to modify the dust caps to run the wires through. It's easy.

1. I forgot to mention that we drove the Edge to Flagstaff. Despite climbing almost 6000 feet above Phoenix, it used 1/4 of a tank of gas. 2. Another thing I forgot to mention is that people stop me or my wife and ask questions about Edges. The usual response is "The Edge just got put on our short list of crossovers to consider." We have gotten more compliments on the 2011 than on the 2008. 3) The dealer by me has an Edge with Sync 3. I am going to check it out and determine whether or not this is worth the upgrade to a 2016 or look at the black 2014 Sport that's for sale. For me, the best of both worlds would be to yank out the 3.7, install the 2.7 EB, "tweak" it, add some trans upgrades, upgrade the brakes, and a whole lot of other things..... 4) I may have to create a macbwt type of thread in a bit.....lbvs

Also look at Morel, Focal, and JL Audio for aftermarket speakers. The JL Audio C3 is the best bang for the buck.

Comparing a 2011 Edge to a 1977 Cutlass is akin to comparing an Audi S8 to a Trabant, Yugo, or Lada. Out of the cars I have owned, I tend to compare my Edge to my 2002 Maxima SE as they both had 200+ hp V6s and both were fun to drive. Big difference is that my Edge never saw the shop as much as that Maxima did.

The closest for me was the BMW Drive for the Cure. I literally got to drive almost every BMW during the years they held it.

Update: The Enterprise is gone. However, they do their own rentals. My experience was very pleasant and I found the prices super reasonable. I used them when the compressor went out on my 2011. I rolled out in a 2014 Limited that my wife said rode smoother than our 2011.

That's why I tell anyone moving here that glass coverage is a MUST. For me, this is windshield #4 on the 2011 Edge. If we count both, you are looking at 6 total. It's not just breakage that gets us. We get a lot of pitting from the sandstorms out here.

Recently replaced windshield

When running aftermarket HID kits, one of the things that will go out is usually the ballast. Bulbs tend to have a visual warning (they look pinkish or reddish before blowing). Considering I am in an extreme environment (heat), I have had to replace ballasts at least 5-6 times on both Edges.

I get plenty of practice where I am....lbvs

Escalades are hitting between $80,000 and $90,000.

Mine was $200+ for the whole truck and windshield. I have Llumar Pinnacle Series film (ceramic tint). Can't use metallic tint.
