  1. Hey, Mac. Looks like you are going to have some company in the high mileage club. My 2011 Edge is at 128k.
  2. Up next: a) New tires: My Yokohamas are pretty close to their 60k warranty and are wearing down. New reverse LED bulbs from Dan c) New puddle lamps from Dan d) Brakes For those who said it couldn't be done, mine got installed at 77k and the Edge is at 128k with the Yokohamas.
  3. Based on macbwt's thread and my own experiences with high mileage (100,000+ miles), there needs to be a section where issues and maintenance for higher mileage and severe usage can be discussed.
  4. I am seeing that as well. May have to look into replacing.
  5. I am considering the kit from VLEDs that is 45w and 4500 lumens per side. I think it's the LMZ Platinum. For you: Low beam is H11 http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/headlights/h11-h8-h9/h11-ultra-lmz.html High Beam is 9005 http://www.vleds.com/bulb-type/headlights/9005-hb3/9005-ultra-lmz.html
  6. Nope. Straight plug and play. The kits I used were all 35w.
  7. When I had my 2008, I installed high and low beam 6000K 35w kits. The road would be illuminated for 1/2 mile or better.
  8. Although I have a 2011 Limited, the issue is the same. Shortly after I bought it, I upgraded the Halogens to HID (Simple plug and play kit, will not void warranty). Most 35 watt HID kits such as the ones by Morimoto (www.theretrofitsource.com) or Drive Bright (kc300's company) will not have any issues. If you go to a 55 watt kit, you will need a relay that connects directly to the battery. Typically, the light output from these HID kits is 3200 lumens (total) which should be sufficient enough for general illumination. Now, with all of the driving on dark roads that we do in places like Paradise Valley, Queen Creek, Maricopa, or Sedona, I am looking to potentially upgrade from that to LED (Light Emitting Diode) which has the added benefit of lower wattage draw but (with the VLEDs kit) higher output of 4500 lumens per side.
  9. Lately, it's been Arco and QuikTrip that's been pretty decent for me. Mobil and CircleK are second. Shell is third. Chevron is still the worst.
  10. Here's the latest.... a) Left HID bulb went out. Changed fuses (blew 2, lost 1 in the process) and then changed bulb to Halogen. Looks like I am either going to get the bulbs from Dan, my original guy, or going straight to 4500 lumen LED. Wife's iPod wasn't working in the car and she REALLY wanted to hear the new Adele album (Me....not so much). Until I could get to it, I put Adele on a flash drive and wifey was satiated. After doing master resets, I had to reset/reboot her iPod and it now works. c) Already looking for new tires. The YK580s are approaching 50K since I installed them. d) Polished and waxed the interior console using Klasse All In One and Pinnacle XMT 180 e) Polished black trim on B Pillars and rear window using Klasse All In One Bonus: Went on VisionX's website and saw that the price of the LED bar I wanted dropped DRASTICALLY.......
  11. Are your headlights Halogen or HID (High Intensity Discharge (Xenon))?
  12. I am going to check the VLEDs kit installed on another Edge compared to my 3200 lumen HID kit.
  13. Shopping for headlight upgrade. So far, VLED's LED headlamps are in the lead.
  14. Growing up, I had access to various Cadillacs, Lincolns, Mercedes, and a Jaguar. Later in life, I drove BMWs, Porsches, and a Lexus or two. Two of the BMWs I drove were X5s (6 cyl and 8 cyl) which happened to be the Edge's target vehicle when they were developing it.
  15. I did this update a few days ago on my 2011 Edge with no issues.
  16. One of mine got curb-rashed by the wife. I am looking at the same thing. If I can replace the skins, I'd be better off.
  17. I have Yokohamas on mine and they are still fine nearly 30-40,000 miles later. However, the YK580 (for some unknown reason) is not available in 245/50/20. I wish it was, though.
  18. Seems like they got the QC issues worked out. Last year, I bought these tires and had a horrific vibration at highway speeds. No amount of balancing and/or alignment (even Roadforce balancing) could fix the issue. The tire shop replaced one tire (Still had vibration) and, ultimately, the whole set (still had vibration). After a while, I gave up on these tires and went with Yokohama YK580s. No problems since.
  19. .....well, those of us who have watched "Hee Haw" will also get it.;...lol
