Safe to Go for Automatic Car Wash with AVS In-Channel Vent Visors
Edged Up replied to sajid.ali's topic in Exterior & Body
Its never safe to go to those anyway. Mad scratches yo!!!!! Be careful. I like washing my baby myself. Although the in channel ones would be better than the stick on type. Seems less edges to get caught on. I say its OK but don't try it cuz they'll prolly rip off. NAh....doubt it.- 6 replies

First mods for my 2011 Edge Limited
Edged Up replied to splork's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Ooooo. Nice, I want black accents inside the housing with RGB Demon eyes and Halo. Not cheap but worth the customization, but that is my opinion. Looks hot!!! -
Picked it up here. http://www.skenedesign.com/FPBracket/index.shtml

Picked up a new front bracket to lower the front plate. A little different than the sea of Edges out there. Next up, color matched grill, mirror caps and HIDs. Removed front plate and had to drill out 2 rivets that attach the holder to the front grill. Wont be plugging them up cuz Ill be getting a new grill anyway. Easy tho. About 10 minute install.

Hows the ride? Trying to convince the wife to lower the edge. Almost there. Looks good! I expect it to tighten up a bit but is it harsh at all? -

Any OEM Hid Options?
Edged Up replied to Edged Up's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Oh damn! Nice on the diagram. I know there was another guy that wanted to go OEM route. Where did ya get the diagram from and can you get one for the radio? Speaker wires and such. -
Good idea. Maybe? Try it. Extend from OEM harness maybe? I got an SE so don't listen to me.

Aftermarket Horns, anybody?
Edged Up replied to Kanatronic's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
No. The stock bracket has two spots for horns. I picked up some steel with holes in it @ home depot. Then attached the horns to that strip of steel and attached the whole thing to the OEM bracket. Then put back in OEM location. Pretty cut and dry. Just be prepared to do a lot of trial and error getting the horns in the right positions so they don't interfere with the wiper fluid bottle. Didn't take too long. Like 20 mins of putting it in and taking it out and repositioning the horns. No biggie. I will be moving them to behind the grill tho in the future. Prolly sound better up front like that too. When it warms up outside cuz its friggin cold. I used a 9006 light bulb plug to mate them together. Cut the Ford horn connector and soldered in a female 9006 plug. Connected all the wires on the horn side and soldered in a male 9006 plug. Heatshrink tubed for looks. -

Also 2 wire. Make sure its 2 wire horns. One wire one are the same thing but a little easier to hook up electrically. Or same shit. FOR ME the 2 wire ones were easier. -

Go to ebay and search "Cadillac 4 note horn". They are all over. That's the one you want as these horns came on a multitude of Caddys. Don't know any specific model or part #. They'll be on ebay though. Make sure the seller is including the plugs with wires to go with them. I also checked to see what they were rated at. Looked at the fuse box diagram for a Dorado online and found the fuse for the horns is 15 amps. Edge has a 20 amp horn fuse so its perfect! No relay needed. OEM wires should handle it. Mines been on for a few weeks and all good. -
I wanna move them to right behind the grill. There is some space on the metal bumper and have them facing out. Kinda bottle/echo effect with it being in there. Still loud tho. I like it.

Steering wheel swap!!! That thing looks nice! -
We can swap wheels. I'm gonna get 22's for the ride and they will fit. I don't know why having 22's getting 16's with the right tire wont fit. Or do I have 17"? Whatever the SE come with. Lets swap!!

Any OEM Hid Options?
Edged Up replied to Edged Up's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
That's what it sounds like. You'll just be paying a thousand bux!!! It is what I expected though. Came from an Audi/VW forum and to get OEM HID on my A4 was like a $1000 upgrade with housings and all. I thought it would be a little cheaper with a Ford but no dice. I'm going the Morimoto route and using the rest of the $$$ for DRL's, Painted headlight housings, color matched grill and other black stuff on car. A lot of other stuff to get. Also like the Morimoto's wire harnesses. Look OEM. REal subtle.
