What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
thirdgenlxi replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Not too much lately.... gave it a good wash the other day at work and cleaned the inside real good (dog hair...blah!) so she was all nice and clean Then drove it to work this morning (usually been riding my bike lately) and had to fight for my seat back so we could drive home, lol. Hey at least it was already nice and warm for me! haha -
Hahaha yea they're like "ehhh.... we see this every night. Zzzzzzz" LOL Well I guess this does have a happy ending after all. It was a tough call and I gave it lots of thought about keeping him or not, and as much as I really did like the little guy I thought it was probably best to let him go and see what happens. I did tell the lady at this rescue group and their partner rescue group up in DC that if for whatever reason some time goes by and he somehow can't find a home, to let me know and that he always had a home with me no matter what. So I dropped him off Monday night, and he left to head up to DC Tuesday morning along with his brother Stump (his other brother Clifford already went up there about 2 weeks ago, he already had a home waiting for him), and 10 other dogs and a cat. They arrived up there late afternoon yesterday, and I just got word today that not only is Si being adopted already, but they're adopting both him AND his brother Stump! So they get to stay together . As hard as it was to let him go this was definitely relieving to hear, and makes me VERY happy that he gets to stay with his brother in their forever home Anyways.... on another note, when I dropped him off Monday night, I also picked up this beautiful little girl! About 6 months old..... meet Sasha! She'll probably be with us for a couple weeks as well. A friend of mine here locally is actually already interested in adopting her, which would be awesome
-
That's a good question.... I really have no idea, lol Anyways, this utterly full of personality little boy Si has been at our house for only about 2 weeks now, and he is without a doubt one of those dogs that you just couldn't NOT love and has already wiggled his way right into all of our hearts. Everybody has been more than welcoming of this little ball of energy, and even rearranged themselves to make room on the bed for him (seriously who couldn't like that face??) But Si and Turbo seemed to take an undeniable liking to each other rather quickly..... I guess cuz they're both high energy and both love to play... ... which they do every single night (friendly little game of bitey face here, lol. The girls were not amused.... or even awake for that matter) Anyways.... it looks like Si's time with us is coming to a close, as he's set to travel up to DC with his brother Stump this following Tuesday, so I have to drop him off Monday evening. Everybody has been giving me crap because they know how quickly I get attached to dogs (which I do, I'm not gonna lie) and how hard it would be to let him go (which it is). As if that's not bad enough, I catch Si and Turbo today in a pose I think they're trying to tell me something here, lol. Talk about guilt trip from hell!! hahah. They're not stupid, they know what's up I've actually gave it lots of thought, but I think it's best I don't overload myself and keep a spot open to help another foster baby that needs some help. But I certainly am gonna miss this little hambone
-
I'm not gonna want him to leave either Thanks guys! He's doing great.... he was pretty scared and shy at first so I've been trying to get him out to new places and around new people and dogs, and even in this short time it's seemed to help him quite a bit. At first he just wanted to stay pressed right up against me or between my legs and with his tail tucked between his legs. Now he's wandering around, tail wagging, going up to people and letting them love on him, etc. Really starting to come out of his shell, it seems! Took the boys to finish up christmas shopping for the kiddos the other night The trainer I take mine to says she see's "foster fail" written all over me, lol. IDK what she's talking about.... :ahem: (and yes, I took a few selfies) Made a couple videos of Turbo and Si playing last night too.... I'd say they like each other! So yea... even if it is only 10 days, it's still gonna be hard letting this little boy go But on a side note..... at least they'll have a good christmas, lol. They're not spoiled... not at all! Even had to get the little guy a lil something.... couldn't leave him out

Just an FYI often times the sensor ring can "look" fine with no missing teeth but it's actually loose on the CV axle and can move back and forth or just fall out of place completely, which is what can give the intermittent issue. It doesn't set a code because the sensor is working fine, it just sees that wheel speed dropping to zero which the module interprets as that wheel locking up, just as it would in a normal ABS situation, and acts accordingly to the inputs it receives

Well I just couldn't help myself, lol.... I live in a very rural small town area. Our local county humane society, and another local rescue group are both small privately run orgs. Not even a physical shelter or anything, all the shelter animals have to live in foster homes, vet kennels, etc around the area. And they're both always struggling both financially and with trying to find enough foster homes for all the animals. Anyways.... they had put up that they REALLY needed a temp foster home for these 3 young boys (all brothers). Apparently 2 of them had foster homes lined up already and they needed one more. I couldn't say no to a wet nose in need..... I went down last night and picked him up. It's only gonna be for about 10 days, he needs to heal up from his neuter surgery and get his ride all set up then him and his brothers are headed up to Washington DC to their forever homes He's pretty shy, and sometimes just plain scared, but he seems to warm up to you pretty quick once he's around you for a bit. Poor little guy was actually born IN the shelter, so he probably hasn't had much exposure to the outside world just yet. He's still kinda scared to walk through doors, up stairs, etc. But I think we're gonna have a fun time in our 10 days together I already took him on the grand tour through Tractor Supply last night! haha Got him home and he seemed to make himself right at home Introduced him to all my kiddos (one at a time).... doesn't seem to be any issues, I'd say, lol. Looks like he's already got the nightly routine of my lazy bums down good. Piper was up on the couch with me pouting, lol He even voluntarily went in the crate and laid down It may change as he gets more relaxed, but so far for a young pup he seems very well mannered! I'm excited to see how this goes...... this will be my first time fostering, even though it's only for a short time
-
Very well may be low on fluid too and neutralizing under lower RPM. You see any leaks anywhere?? I'd check the level just to be sure anyways.... vehicle level, hot, engine idling
-
You do know that when the engine isn't running, you don't have any oil pressure because the oil pump isn't turning....right?? More than likely a throttle body gone bad....
-
They most certainly do! Each engine has a serial number.... though they put them in different spots so sometimes it's hard to find (sometimes it's engraved into the block near the bellhousing, sometimes it's a little tag on the side of the block) This is just a random OASIS I ran for a car I worked on a few weeks ago
-
I'm still not buying this whole story...... from a simple check engine light on and still running (seemingly) fine, to a cracked block. Something seems veeeerrrry fishy here. I'd be in there asking to see the old engine.... if they actually changed it. A cracked block is a pretty serious issue, and would likely cause way more than a simple check engine light..... and I don't see any connection with the cam phaser code

13M01 - Middle East PTU Extended Warranty
thirdgenlxi replied to omar302's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Peter F. Bandoske Ford Motor Company Service Engineering Operations Manager P. O. Box 1904 Ford Customer Service Division Dearborn, Michigan 48121 USA May 22, 2013 TO: Export & Growth Operations Dealers SUBJECT: Customer Satisfaction Program 13M01 Certain 2007 through 2012 Model Year Edge and MKX Vehicles Equipped with All-Wheel-Drive, Ordered for Certain Middle East Markets - Extended Warranty Coverage on Power Transfer Unit. PROGRAM TERMS This program extends the coverage of the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) to 10 years of service from the Warranty Start Date, or 190,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first. If a vehicle has already accumulated more than 190,000 kilometers, this coverage will last through November 30, 2013. Coverage is automatically transferred to subsequent owners. VEHICLES COVERED BY THIS PROGRAM Certain 2007-2012 model year Edge and MKX vehicles equipped with AWD, built at the Oakville Assembly Plant, and ordered for Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Jordan, Iraq, or Lebanon. Affected vehicles are identified in OASIS. REASON FOR PROVIDING ADDITIONAL COVERAGE Extended high speed vehicle operation in high ambient temperatures, in conjunction with off-road driving in sand, may result in sludging of the fluid within the PTU and/or seal leaks. PTU sludging typically produces symptoms such as a whining noise while driving or clunk/harsh engagements when shifting to drive or reverse. Continued driving in these environmental conditions may damage the PTU and result in a loss of AWD functionality. Affected vehicles can still be driven in FWD mode if the PTU function is compromised. SERVICE ACTION If dealer diagnosis indicates that the PTU requires replacement, dealers are authorized to replace it with a new Middle East Service PTU that contains a drain plug, which enables convenient fluid replacement at regular intervals. Dealers are also to apply a sticker to the inside cover of the vehicle Owner Guide that details revised fluid replacement maintenance intervals of 30,000 kilometers for normal use, and 15,000 kilometers for severe duty/sand driving use. At the conclusion of the repair, dealers are to provide vehicle owners with an Owner Information Card, which details the revised fluid replacement maintenance intervals. If dealer diagnosis indicates the PTU does not require replacement, but that seal leaks are present, dealers are authorized to replace the affected seals under this program. This service must be performed at no charge to the vehicle owner. Service Interval Stickers and Cards will be shipped to dealers the week of June 3rd, marked attention Service Manager. ļ Copyright 2013 Ford Motor Company Note: 2013 Model Year Edge and MKX vehicles equipped with AWD and ordered for Middle East operation, have PTUās equipped with a drain plug. ...Rescue dog transport! This handsome boy Charlie needed a ride from his Rottie rescue group in Woodstock, GA up to Pennsylvania to his new foster home. There was a leg going from Spartanburg, SC up to Charlotte, NC, which I'm kind of in the middle of both, so I signed up to do it. Been wanting to do one for awhile but there either weren't any running through my area on the days I could do them, or somebody else got to them first. So today my good friend Scott (who's also a dog/animal lover as I am) and I drove down to Spartanburg and picked him up from the previous drivers, and drove him up to Charlotte where we met up with the next driver who would continue him on his journey NE. Not gonna lie I kinda hated to have to hand him over to the next driver, I really liked the little guy! Awesome personality.... you couldn't NOT like him, lol. Plus he was a total angel in the car. But I'm just glad he's going to a better place Of course I had to snap a few pics.... not great since he didn't exactly want to stand still too much, lol He's staying the night in Newport, Virginia tonight, then continuing the rest of his journey tomorrow..... this was him when he got to his overnight spot. I guess he was wore out from all the car rides and new people, LOL. He was such a goof Anyways.... that was my fun for the day, lol. It may not sound like much, but I really enjoyed it.... all for a good cause, so it's worth it

Cool glad you made it home safely... sounds like an awesome trip for sure! Great pics and it was awesome meeting you yesterday..... thanks again for lunch

Well we've been trying to chase Piggys limping issue for a little while now, come to find out she had a torn ACL in her right knee. So I dropped her off at the vets monday morning for surgery.... she was ready to go! 2 weeks earlier and it would have been nearly 2 years to the day from having hip surgery on her left hip Vet called me later in the day and said surgery went perfectly fine (I always worry during any surgery), but they wanted to keep her overnight just to keep an eye on her and make sure she got a good restful nights sleep. So I went down tuesday and picked her up Gnarly little incision And as much as she hates it, she had to get the cone of shame.... poor girl, lol The vet said I HAD to keep her calm for 6-8 weeks to recover, otherwise it could damage the repair and they'd have to go in and do it again. So friday night my friend Scott and I went out in search of a kennel (she doesn't do well inside by herself.... separation anxiety). Was hoping to find a used one but craigslist failed me this time, lol..... ended up having to get a new one from Tractor Supply. And some Cook Out too..... we were hungry, lol He helped me get it all set up and ready.... pretty easy And today was her first full day in it while I was at work.... I know she didn't like it but gotta do it for the next month and a half or so for her own good. I called my landlord who lives next door, at lunch time and asked her to peek over there and make sure she was doing good, and she said she was just laying there in the sun sleeping, so that's good at least Anyways, fingers crossed for speedy recovery.... will definitely be happy to see this happy energetic girl back to her usual goofy self, lol

Thanks! Just out of habit I guess.... I've used Mobil 1 in a lot of stuff and always had good luck. I've used it in my bike almost since new (5000 miles) and it's now at 268k (and that's a high revving sportbike.... 14,200 RPM redline which it's bounced off of on more than one occasion...oops! LOL). It's still clean as a brand new motor inside and runs like a peach. Also used it in my Accord which is at 437k and also super clean and runs great. I'm kinda OCD when it comes to consistency, and when I find something that works I just stick with it.... I don't just use "whatever is on sale", I use what I KNOW... works. And the WIX are a top notch filter that's made right down the road from me too I use the Mobil 1 in my 1988 John Deere mower too, lol -
You guys are letting it sit undisturbed for a good 45 minutes to allow all the modules to "go to sleep" before condemning anything as causing a draw, right??

Time for another oil change Not too bad for 5000 miles I'd say.... didn't add a drop As with every oil change I do a trans drain and fill too...... keeps it nice and clean and healthy too Time for one of these little guys too.... didn't put it in yet cuz I was about to get locked in and had to go, lol..... I'll put it in tomorrow -

Used it to haul the kids to their weekly obedience classes (actually several times per week) -
Memory mirror not working properly
thirdgenlxi replied to Tom Champagne's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
It's usually the potentiometers in the mirror motors go bad.... the mirror has absolutely no idea where it actually is, so it just goes in some random direction as far as it can then ratchets -
Awesome.... yea if you draw a diagonal line straight from Asheville to Charlotte, I'm pretty much right smack dab in the middle between the two. I work in Morganton though which is right along I-40 if you'll be going past there at all. Let me know, I'm definitely down And yes profile is correct.... I live in the boonies, lol
-
Cool what part of NC are you headed to?? If you're out my way I'll grab some lunch/dinner with ya

How does a plastic tank rot??

If it's less than 12k miles I believe it should still be covered under warranty..... take it in and see
