It's a 2010, different menu..... just keep pushing setup to scroll through the menu and reset to toggle between on or off
-
There's 2 belts, one has a regular tensioner you just release and remove the belt like any other, the other is a stretchy belt which you need the special tool to remove and install it as it uses no tensioner. They sell the tool at the parts stores for like $6.00

You have to go in with the IDS and do the IVD initialization sequence, then re-run the self test to clear any codes

Go through the setup menu on the instrument cluster, there is an "easy exit" feature.... turn it off

I'm not gonna do it 3 times like the manual states to do (drain, refill, run for 3 mins, repeat 2 more times), just drain and refill once each time. It's exactly 5 quarts that drains out, so ~$20 for fluid.... overkill it may be, but I like keeping my fluids good and clean at all times, especially trans. I'm really not a fan of auto transmissions at all anyways, so I def don't want any problems out of it. Kinda one of those "rather be safe than sorry" kind of things, lol. We'll see once I get it good and clean I may end up going to every other oil change, we'll see. But the fluid I drained out the last time was fairly brown, so I want to be sure and get all that out of there. I tend to keep my stuff for a long time (see siggy), so I tend to maintain the crap out of it. And I never have any problems out of my other stuff (and combined they total almost 687k miles between the two)

Yup.... I can run any Ford/Lincoln/Mercury VIN as long as it's within the last 10 years. Either post or shoot me a PM with your VIN and I can run it no prob And without plugging it up to the IDS there's really no way of telling if it's been updated or not or if a new one is available

Sweet... thanks! I need to pick one of these up.... cheaper than the Motorcraft filters

I know this is an older topic, but figured I'd chime in too. My '07 SEL FWD is about to turn 100k here soon.... at 99,700 something now. Now given I haven't had it that long, I just bought it beginning of November with 97k, I work as a Ford dealer tech, and I bought it from the dealer that I work at, so I can run any history on it that was done at our dealer, as well as the OASIS report to see the full warranty history. According to that, the only warranty repair it's ever had was in July '09 at 34k miles.... burnt out turn signal bulb, hahah. I still have to make an RO on it sometime and see if it's had anything else done at our shop since the warranty ran out. It was obviously well cared for as it was like brand new condition inside and out, and runs and drives like brand new, smooth and quiet as can be, no rattles or other noises whatsoever, trans shifts beautifully, and everything is dry as a bone underneath with no leaks whatsoever. And not a spec of rust anywhere either (love NC for no rust!). Looks like it's had brakes done front and rear, and a battery... nothing else that I can tell. I've only had it a short while but have had zero mechanical issues, just done some maintenance stuff just so I know where everything is at.... flushed brake fluid, flushed P/S fluid, changed cabin air filter (naaasssty), changed trans fluid (drain & fill several times.... will now do every 5k miles at every oil change), and put some new NGK plugs in last week (had originals in it), balanced tires, cleaned and lubed the vista roof tracks and weather strip, lubed all door weatherstrips and door latches, lubed rubber hood stops and latch. Gonna do an oil change here at 100k and switch to Mobil 1, and prob flush the coolant as well. I reflashed the PCM to the latest calibration when I bought it, no problems just wanted to get it to the latest updates. The drivers heated seat doesn't work (needs the heater element) and right rear speaker is kinda distorted, that's the only things wrong with it and it was that way when I bought it, which I knew about (used it to get the price down a lil bit, lol)..... gonna replace the speakers with a set of aftermarkets anyways so that was no big deal. I'll pick up a new seat heater here one of these days... it's not super cold here in NC so it's not that big of a deal to me anyways. Still looks, runs, and drives like brand new.... I plan to keep it for a good long while, so I'll update if I have any probs out of it (for reference, my 2 other vehicles have 251k miles [sportbike... '04 Honda CBR 600 F4i] and 434k ['89 Honda Accord], both still run beautifully.... so I keep stuff for awhile, lol) So far though.... I love this thing! As she sits right now....

Still have the navigation radio?? And/or the subwoofer/housing/amp??

Thanks guys!! Yea I really like it a lot.... soooo smooth and quiet compared to my old hooptie, lol. And yea I love the color too.... I usually tend to like darker colors anyways other than white or silver. I agree though I do prefer a charcoal interior, but hey beggars can't be choosers, right?? haha. With my very limited budget I certainly couldn't afford to be picky so had to snatch up a good deal when I saw it. But I still love it! A few more interior pics...

Welcome dude!! :D From a fellow sportbike and trackday enthusiast myself, lol (see my intro thread a couple posts down) Can't really help ya out with your questions as I just bought mine on Friday, and sounds like for about the same reasons.... towing my bike to trackdays, camping out in the back, etc. Seemed like a good vehicle for it so I guess I'll find out. Good luck in your search! -
Hahah already tried.... pretty much got the "cool story bro" response. Wrote them a letter and sent some pics when the bike turned 100k (and mentioned the car too), then wrote a letter back and sent a few novelty things. Wrote them again and sent a few more pics and a copy of a little video I made when it turned 200k, the guy called me and talked to me for awhile, said he was gonna forward it to the press dept and said they may or may not contact you.. never did hear anything, just got a few more novelty things. Oh well try again at 300k, haha The video I made of our travels.... don't mind the banjo music, lol

What's going on everyone?? Seems like a pretty cool forum here with lots of good info! Anyways, my name is Jared, from western NC. I've been driving my old '89 Honda Accord for the past 12 years and it's been an amazingly great car, but at 23 yrs old and 434k miles she's really just stating to show her age (road salt the first 13 years up in IL was not kind). So I've been on the lookout for something a little newer and nicer... I work as a tech at a local Ford dealer (been with Ford for about 9 years now) and we had this super clean '07 SEL out on our lot. Got looking at it and liked it a lot, and practicality wise it was exactly what I needed.... I needed something with a good amount of flat space in the back for my 3 dogs, something I could sleep in at trackdays out of the weather, and something that could tow a trailer (nothing huge). This fit the bill perfect.... they cut me a deal on it I almost couldn't refuse (got it pretty much at cost, almost $4k under NADA value). Has 97k miles but you'd never know it, it's literally spotless inside and out and drives like brand new... obviously very well cared for. Already got a few small cosmetic mods planned... monochrome grille and foglight bezels, '09-10 sport headlights and taillights, replace some interior lights with LED's and maybe change colors, change instrument cluster gauge faces to black with white LED backlighting (can't see the silver), tint the front windows, and swap in an OEM navi unit too. But all in due time, just future plans, lol. So far though I love it... I think I'll be happy with it for a good long while Anyways... a few pics.... it is cleeeaaaan as a whistle inside and out And my other love.... 2004 Honda CBR 600 F4i. Bought it new 10-17-04 with 3 miles on the clock, just turned 248k. I like to ride.... a lot, lol LOVE trackdays too.... I'm still fairly green at it (done 6 so far) and my body position still sucks but I'm working on it =) There's me and my one dog Riley (who just got his CGC certificate in the mail today.... so proud! He loves belly rubs too) at our last trackday in FL a couple weeks ago (same as above pic). That's my old Accord behind me too And the rest of my family.... my kids! Absolute best I could ever ask for. All 3 are rescues, the two smaller ones are brother and sister and were abandoned at a very young age (found them living under an old building by my house at around 7 weeks old, and they were in very rough shape). Both now have their CGC certificates.... soooo proud of how far they've come (they've had some major social anxiety issues). I love dogs more than I do most people.... That's about all there is to know about me.... pretty much my life in a nutshell, lol. Sorry for so many pics, I take pics of evveeeerything, haha. Gonna poke around the forum some more and check it out...
