  1. Go for Ford approved accessories. http://accessories.ford.com/vehicles/edge/2012/electronics/remote-start.html Out of which, I would recommend the 100-series since it is the most "Factory like" setup. You get 2 new keys that look like you original keys, but with a remote start button, and the dealer would then activate the remote start features in the settings menu (left cluster screen) that would enable the remote start options explained in the owners manual like pre-cooling/heating of the interior. http://accessories.ford.com/remote-start-system-rpo-plug-in-play-kit.html
  2. A new switch from Ebay costs only USD 36.00. I would try that first. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OEM-STEERING-COLUMN-TURN-SIGNAL-SWITCH-FORD-LINCOLN-VEHICLES-BT4Z-13341-BA-/360496062990?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2011%7CMake%3AFord%7CModel%3AEdge&hash=item53ef3d620e&vxp=mtr
  3. Make sure they are replaced with laminated windows, not normal windows.
  4. My guess would be that it was originally planned to change the 2014 model, but for some reason the plan changed. Hence the delay in the 2014 model startup.
  5. When you flash to pass, the HID bulb turns on & the shutter moves to give high beam. The same is true for standard Halogen bulb equipped Edges. (We are talking 2011+) All you need is to connect the installed HID lights in place of the removed single filament bulb. Treat it as it were low beam system only. When flashing in the day time, the vehicle will turn on both. Note: The flash to pass in stock HID set up (on my MKX and a friend's 13'Explorer) will turn on for ~1-2 seconds only regardless of how long (or briefly) you pull the signal stalk.
  6. For those wondering if signal level decreased on not, you can go into the MFT diagnostic screen (think it was holding eject + right seek) and there is a radio signal screen that displays signal strength in digits.
  7. I would like to see bigger brakes & the 3.5 Ecoboost!
  8. You can get 2011 Mirrors, they are bigger but you lose the led turn signals (if yours has them).
  9. The 2014 Edge just showed up on Media.Ford.com, it's a carryover. http://media.ford.com/press_kits_detail.cfm?presskit_id=2186&item_id=5853&press_section_id=2870 http://media.ford.com/images/10031/2014_Edge.pdf
  10. It happens. First try to unpair "Sync" from your phone and delete your phone from the MFT and try to pair your phone again. If you still face the same problem, you should then try to master reset your MFT and yhen pair the phone again.
  11. Check this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10908-transmission-sport-mode-misnomer/
  12. 2013 Edges added the possibility to manualy shift (temporarily) without shifting to 'S' by pressing the + or - buttons. Are you sure you didnt press them?
  13. Truy looking at the filter with fan on, is it being sucked in? Also remove the filter and make sure nothing fell inside the filter opening.
  14. The 2011+ Edge uses a projector with a moving sheild to create the low/hi beams. So its only a single bulb with a single filament.
  15. When ordering a new car, you should set up your priorities as you see fit. Since HID is important to you, you should have ordered it. Retrofitting HID is not good, blinding to other drivers and illegal in many places. For a proper HID upgrade, you should get the complete headlights of a factory HID Edge setup, which would cost a lot and makes the 301a package's cost a bargain. Furthermore, since you just "ordered" the car, many dealers can still accommodate changing the order before receiving the vehicle.
  16. Each projector has a different lighting pattern. From the owner's manual:
  17. Some 2011 models (maybe some 2012 too?) has early build software that made necessary for them to update (the Performance upgrade "Version 3.0.2") through a Dealer only.
  18. To confirm what Dingo said, if you the signal on, the signal noise will go away while the seatbelt chime is on.
  19. I know the MKX has it on the front windows only plus the vista roof. You just unlock using the fob and keep holding until they start rolling down. The feature is called "global open" by Ford. There is also a setting in the left cluster toenable or disable it.
  20. Normal. Its even mentioned in the Owners Guide under "Power Windows": Though to be honest, it is really bad compared to my previous cars. Sometimes it even kind of whistles.
  21. The Ford Headrest DVD's are quite expensive. How old is your daghter? My 2 & 6 year olds usualy are happy playing their tablets in the car. They can watch movies & even play games. And the tablets are much cheaper.
  22. Manufacturer recommends 35 PSI. I believe the TPMS comes on at around 28 PSI. If your driving high speeds, it is better to go for 35 PSI. If your driving in the city, with bad roads like where I live, I would suggest 30 PSI & the TPMS will not come on.
  23. Since the 3.02 update, I hated the fact that the default Lincoln star wallpaper was not centered. Finally I was able to get hold of that image & was able to modify it to center the Lincoln Star. Also, I found one image that I liked in a Focus forum, so I just modified it to center it in the updated MFT/MLT screens & added a Ford/Lincoln Logo. I have added a .zip file containing all images because the pictures are changed when attached to the post. MLT - MFT.zip
