Hey Sajid, I know a lot of Edge owners in KSA would love to have it activated, I am sure you can charge them a small amount (like sensor cost + 100 SAR) and you will quickly recover the cost of the VCM.

Your rational would have made if the activation charges went to Ford. In reality, the Dealer will charge for the labor only, so nothing goes to Ford. Furthermore, what Sajid is saying is that some SEL Edges where sold to customers with Keys that already have the remote start button (note that the Edge in question is an Export, sold outside US). To be honest, it is an idiot mistake from the selling Dealer who should have known what they are selling!

As per Ford, the range should be up to 300 ft. http://accessories.ford.com/remote-start-system-rpo-plug-in-play-kit.html With my 2011 MKX, with factory remote start, I can start the car from my 3rd floor apartment without problems. I would say the range is acceptable & can reach close to 100 meters (300 ft) as advertised.

How short is the range? The factory system is good for about 100 meters in its best case (no buildings or barriers in between).

Ok, so I updated my 2011 MKX MLT from 2.11 to 3.0.2 to 3.2.2 through the Syncmyride website and then to 3.5.1 using the TSB downloaded file. At the time I started getting the 911 assist error (911 Assist is disabled here living outside USA). After the 3.5.1 update I remember the startup logo/animation used to show the Lincoln logo followed by the THXII Audio animation. Also the logo was Lincoln's new logo. After the dealer fixed the 911 Assist error, the animation now doesn't show complete, the THXII animation does not show at all (only some very rare cases) and the Lincoln logo in the boot animation is the old Lincoln star. It seems to depend on the type of available light. I noticed that yellow street lights cause graininess. At darker areas without yellow street light the camera image would be clearer.

I get the same feeling, mostly feel air coming from the seat cushion only, but in rare circumstances I might feel it from the back also. I would guess that there is only 1 fan and that there are ducts directing air to the back, hence it feels very week or even not felt at all.

Dear Sajid, I can't help you regarding the Chinese VCM-II, but I would suggest that when you take your car to the Dealer for any service, try to talk to the a technician (not the reception) that all you need is to simply turn on the "remote start" program. Technicians will usually be more understanding.

Why you can't program a new key with only one working key? My best guess is for security. Having both keys available at time of programming is the only way to ensure that the person performing the programming is authorized to do so. Else, whenever you give your car & single key to anybody (valet parking, car wash...etc.) you would be at risk that someone might program a new key without your knowledge.

My HTC One when paired with MLT, Version 3.5.1 will only read out the messages if they were received while connected. If I use the voice commands to read texts, it will prompt that Text messaging it not supported. A nice thing I also found with the HTC One compared to my previous phone, "HTC One X", when messages come & are viewed or read, they will be marked as read in the phone. My old phone kept them as unread.

Sometimes they list the Edge Sport in a different spec sheet, and in that case, the spec sheet for the Edge (non sport) would only show difference for AWD/FWD. For brake pads and calipers, Ford did this before in the 96-99 Taurus & Taurus SHO. Both had the same brake pads & calipers, but the Taurus SHO had larger Discs & with longer/larger "caliper brackets" that allowed the same calipers to be mounted farther from the hub to make space for the larger Discs.

As per Ford's specifications for the Edge & MKX on media.ford website, the FWD "regular" Edge has smaller front brake swept area (63.1 sq. in), whereas the Edge AWD, Edge Sport (FWD & AWD) and MKX (FWD & AWD) all have 69.79 sq. in. of brake swept area. Different swept area would mean different sized rotors. Rear, they all have the same swept area, 70.12 sq. in. For Calipers & Pads, there does not seem to be any difference as on Fordparts.com there is no differentiation between different models for Calipers & Pads except vehicle made before 9/20/2010.

In my MKX, the button lights up normally when headlights are on, but when pressing it, the light does not change. I believe that's how it is designed, just like the fan/seek/scan buttons, a single color LED. All what MyTemp does is quickly set your temp to your preset one, its not like an indicator that tells you have a function turned on (like A/C, Max, recirculate...etc).

What version of MFT is your car running? Make sure you have the latest, v3.5.1. If it is already v3.5.1, did you try a master reset?

For the 1st generation Sync (other than 2011+ MyFord Touch), there is an application "SYNC My Phone" that can be downloaded from the SyncMyRide.com website under "SYNC Utilities". The app is for manually creating and downloading phonebook contacts to SYNC-equipped vehicles via a USB drive.
