Unknown Dashboard Light Warning
omar302 replied to baespey's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Read the Owners Manual? In the instrument Cluster, under Settings>Driver Assist>Traction Control select Off. But the default setting is "On". So every time you start the vehicle, it will be on. -
Just go with Ford's recommended Motorcraft oil. The 2011+ have the intelligent oil life monitor and as per the manual, depending on the driving conditions, you could get up to 10,000 miles per change (or a year, whichever comes first). It might not be a year for you, but it's close.

The Limted is the more luxurious version, it has more features not available on the sport, such HID lights. It also seems that the 2014 Sport doesn't have the Adaptive cruise control as an option anymore. But the Sport does have the larger engine, 3.7 vs 3.5 litres. It's not so much more powerful, but is an upgrade. If you interested in the sport for the looks, you can get the wheels, grille & side skirts, which will give 90% of the sport's looks.

Headlight issues. One loe beam out rest work
omar302 replied to Eddieandkat's topic in 2010 Edge & MKX
Yes. Non HID Edge/MKX, 2011+, also use a single bulb and projector. -
Headlight issues. One loe beam out rest work
omar302 replied to Eddieandkat's topic in 2010 Edge & MKX
For the Edge/MKX, it's one fuse fuse for each low beam (2 fuses together) and one for both high beams together. Actually, for the projector system in the Edge, the high beam fuse is probably only for the solenoids that move the shield. The light bulb itself & it's illumination is the same for low & high beams. -

omar302 replied to Eddieandkat's topic in 2010 Edge & MKX
Its been like that for the last 10-15 years, I remember it on a 1999 Mercury Sable my parents had. In the old days, it used to be a circuit breaker that protected the headlights. Then they switched to fuses, one for each side, apparently so that you don't lose both your headlights at the same time. -
Sorry, I meant buttons on the screen, just like the photo you posted.

I think you are mixing up between us & imperial gollons in your calculation. Your mileage is actually less in mpg:For example, 12.72 l/100 km is equal to 18.49 mpg.

I heard some in Saudi Arabia with Limited 2013 or 2012 models actually didn't have the "Heat" buttons for the front seats. Apparently they removed them since you don't need them most of the year. Thankfully, the cooled/heated seats & steering wheel are working in my car!

Turn Signal Lever Hard To Move
omar302 replied to TheWizard's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Well, from Fordparts.com, the signal switch for 2011/2012 Edge/MKX, the switch costs $38.58 while for the 2013 Edge/MKX it costs $69.67. For 2014, it costs $28.65!! So it seems the part is actually different (2011/2012, 2013 & 2014) and might not be interchangeable. On my 2011 MKX, the high beam & "flash to pass" are both operated by pulling the lever, while it seems the 2013 & 2014 (reading the Owners Manual), have it as "Pull to flash to pass" & "Push" to turn on the high beams. So they are different. I would love to know if the 2014 switch works in my car as I would really prefer the Pull/Push action compared to the Pull/Pull, and its not expensive. -
Perhaps you need to calibrate the actuators. Run the self test (how to from here), then exit & leave the ignition "On" for at least 30 seconds.

Since you are in Bahrain, I assume your Edge is a "GCC" spec model (if it was sold through a dealer in GCC, it is), unfortunately, Ford Middle East are a bunch of idiots! the MyFord Touch vehicles in GCC have the RDS disabled for no apparent reason. Make a complaint to Ford Middle East , or send them a direct e-mail (menacac@ford.com). Maybe more complaints will make them act. Though when I complained, somebody called me & just claimed that RDS was not available in GCC, even after I explained to him that my 2008 Taurus had it working fine!

From here, http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM-Ford_6-speed_automatic_transmission It states that Ford claims the 6F50 was designed to handle 300 hp (224 kW) and 280 ft·lbf (380 N·m). On the other hand, I remember that the 2009 (or maybe 2010) had improved fuel economy because of some changes made to the transmission, but I couldn't find the article.

Check these articles, good reads about the issue: http://m.autoblog.com/2010/08/23/whoops-mt-discovers-ford-edge-sport-slower-than-less-powerful-s/ http://www.caranddriver.com/features/effects-of-upsized-wheels-and-tires-tested

Grinding noise when turning on ice and snow
omar302 replied to Bradman123's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
Isn't it the sound of the AdvanceTrac/Traction Control engaging? It will use the ABS pump (brakes) to stop the wheels from spinning. -
TSB 09-13-05 covers 2008-2009 Fords & mainly installs a new mic to the place were the current models have them (same position like your car). In addition to s=taking it to your dealer, I would suggest first to update the MyFord Touch to the latest update. Also, regarding the visor, the visor "slides" on its rod to extend when blocking sun from the side. The visor might not be seated fully back when it stowed & hence covering your mic.
