  1. Cloth with heated seats?? That is a first, for me anyway. Was it a factory option or aftermarket?
  2. Thanks for your efforts. May I add a few suggestions? Philips makes a 30mm LED Festoon replacement bulb that is great fit. http://www.amazon.com/Philips-129416000KX1-XtremeVision-Interior-Exterior/dp/B009NOZ5BI/ref=pd_sim_auto_7 You can use some acetone (nail polish remover) to help remove the glue that joining the lens to the housing, would make separating them a little easier.
  3. Thanks a lot Haz. Very helpful as always. So now my MKX has extended warranties on the APIM, PTU & Booster! hopefully we'll also get the door lock actuators soon! May I also ask if you have a PDF version of "13M01 - Middle East PTU Extended Warranty"? Member thirdgenlxi already provided me the text content, but a PDF would always be more helpful.
  4. The MKX front seats have Cooled/Heated seats, its a different type all together with 3 settings for cooling & 3 for heating. Uses a fan with a thermoelectric plate (Peltier effect). The Edge has electric heating elements in the seats.
  5. Also locking with the keypad (7/8+9/0 buttons) will arm it. The door lock button inside, if used to lock the doors & then closing the door (driver and passenger sides) and the button on the outside door handles (driver and passenger sides) used for Intelligent keyless lock. Both way also arm the system.
  6. Can someone provide more details on a "13N01" Field Service Action? Preferably a PDF copy?
  7. I don't think the Escape's mirrors would fit. Completely different base & mirror shape. But, in 2012, Ford changed the side mirrors to a smaller design, so you probably could swap in 2009-2011 mirrors (complete with the base). 2007-2008 did not have the blind spot mirrors.
  8. Usually the seat back & bottom, the parts you actually sit on & touch would be leather (higher grade) while the sides & back are vinyl (or a lower grade leather). But I don't have solid info on the Edge, so this might not be the case.
  9. Haz, I agree that "Sport" mode & "selectshift" manual mode are both in the 2013/2014 SE, SEL, Limited & Sport models. What I meant was the "Temporary" manual mode which enables manual mode just by pulling a "paddle" without even shifting the shift lever to "S". This "Temporary" manual mode is only in Sport models that have the paddle shifters. It is also stated in the 2013 MKX owners manual.
  10. Ok, after rereading the source book & owners manual for 2013 model year, it seems I misunderstood the temporary shifting feature, it only applies to the "paddle shifters", in other words, only sport models & 2013/14 MKX.
  11. I just remembered a member with a 2013 Edge SEL did NOT get the "Sport" function working in his car and after a lot of debate, his dealer fixed it by replacing the ECU. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/10908-transmission-sport-mode-misnomer/
  12. Check this post that explains how to do it. It is similar on the Edge/MKX. Also, for the rear console mounted power outlet, the one below the rear airflow vents. The whole panel comes out, with the socket & vents. Just pull it off, it is held by, I think, 4 clips.
  13. There are some aftermarket options, like http://www.goshers.com/, my car has factory BLIS, and to be honest, the little yellow LED in the mirror is difficult to notice in daylight. I have not tried the blind spot mirrors (standard on the Edge/MKX without BLIS), but I have a feeling they might be more practical. Although the factory BLIS does include "Cross Traffic Alert" which, in my opinion, is useful. Would definitely been more useful if the alert was also shown in backup camera display.
  14. @Haz, There is difference in function. The manual mode part, shifting with the buttons/paddles when the shifter is in "M" (2011/12) or "S" (2013/14) is similar for both. BUT, the "Sport" mode in 2013/14 adds 2 new features: When first shifting to "S" (before pressing any shift button or paddle) the transmission enters "Sport" mode which changes the shifting patters, i.e. delayed upshifts and earlier downshifts, hence its called a Sport mode. When a button/paddle is pressed, the transmission then goes to manual shifting mode similar to the 2011/12, shifting would be controlled by the buttons/paddles. 2011/12 will immediately enter manual mode once the shifter is put in "M". When the shifter is still in "D", with a 2013/14, pressing the shift button WILL make an upshift/downshift, temporary manual mode, after a certain period of time, the transmission reverts back to fully automatic mode. Pressing the buttons in a 2011/12 while in "D" has no effect.
  15. The "Sport" mode should also add the ability for "temporary" upshifting/downshifting while still in the "D" position. Anyone have an idea if "Sport" mode can be added to 2011/2012 models?
  16. Like what @Haz mentioned, the Battery Saver will NOT turn off the Parking lights if they were left on. I inadvertently left mine on one day & they stayed on for more than an hour before I realized they are still on (I recall older Fords did turn them off). Apparently its the same for the 2011+ Explorer, but I did notice that it was mentioned in the Owners Manual for the 2012 Explorer, but removed from the 2013!! On a personal note, it makes more sense for them to stay on. In a normal situation, you usually have the headlights on which, if forgotten on, will be turned off (complete with the parking lights). Also, intentionally keeping the parking lights on for safety, such as leaving the car on the side of the road, with the parking lights remaining on, is far more important than saving the battery from fully discharging (similar to the Hazard flashers).
  17. Next time you fill up, reset the trip computer & check fuel used to compare it in the next refill. In my MKX, it typically takes between 17-19 gallons when it is empty.
  18. In Settings>Vehicle>Remote start>Climate control, their should be several entries including "Driver seat" & "Passenger seat".
  19. Auto setting will set the temp to 72℉ in cold or hot weather. There should be a setting for Heated seats in the left screen , if it's set to auto , it will heat the seats in cold weather only. There is no mention in the owners manual at what ambient temperature it will turn on.
  20. Two way communication, with long range, remote start is available as a Ford OEM "Plug & Play" accessory. This one is specific to the Edge with "Push Button start". Also, for your information, the 2013+ Fusion (as an option) & standard on the 2013+ MKZ both have two way communication remote start from the factory. The remotes even have 2 batteries, apparently for the extra function. So it seems the feature will gradually come to most cars.
  21. Then there is definitely something wrong. The vehicle does NOT turn off automatically if the key goes out of range. If you can repeat it, show it to your dealer.
  22. Nope. It does not sound correct. But would you first clarify what "stock" remote start the car has? These are stock for a 2012 Edge: http://assets.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/assets/ACCS/images/oe_rem_start_keylg-20110926184145_500x370.jpg http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/27892917/aview/M3N5WY86095BTNWKEYSINGLE.jpg
  23. Bad news! http://ces.cnet.com/8301-35289_1-57616498/ford-adding-app-integration-to-3.4-million-cars/ But it does mean that 2011-2014 Edge with the basic MyFord (non-touch) would get the Applink upgrade.
  24. I remember some saying it was NOT there, while others have it. I guess your best bet is to look yourself to find out if there is a wire.
  25. It will amaze you the amount of information available in the owners manual. All Ford vehicles I have seen have had the bulb replacement charts in their owners manual, the oldest for me anyway was a 1989 Grand Marques. But kudos for pointing out the puddle light bulbs, I just don't get why is it a sealed enclosure, while there is a 31mm festoon bulb inside it.
