  1. You can easily add an OEM one: http://accessories.ford.com/vehicles/edge/2011/electronics/remote-start.html
  2. I think your symptoms are similar to what a member here faced, Dingo. The throttle body was replaced. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12726-throttle-body-service-or-failure/page-2?do=findComment&comment=104385
  3. Yes. 4.4.2. Didn't try the website on earlier versions.
  4. My MKX with factory HID also shakes a bit on harsh bumps. But since the MKX has adaptive headlights, I thought that was the reason. I guess, as said before, it's probably normal and we are only noticing it because of the sharp cut off.
  5. I "supposedly" got the update too (don't really trust my dealer, and he's the only where I live), I can say it is better, but not totally eliminated. What is gone was a clunk that happened when pressing the accelerator after coasting for a while, a clunk that seemed to happen due to the timing of a downshift. I still have a clunk that feels like a loose driveshaft coupling or play in the rear differential.
  6. I think its TSB 13-3-18. You can find a PDF and discussion in this thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12077-2012-ford-edge-transmission-problems/?do=findComment&comment=98304 Edit: Just realized you are who posted the PDF.
  7. The throttle body on EBay is for around $232. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281140116969 And that's a reliable Ford online parts seller, @CCL123 I highly suggest you double check they installed the right part. The $73 might have been for labor only. @2011edgese, the Etis website works fine on my HTC One, stock browser. There must a setting to make it work in your Note.
  8. The Toqushift transmission is not on the Edge, I think it's for the Super Duty trucks only. The paragraph with Torqshift in the towing seems to be a general one, not specific to the Edge. As for the tow button, I am not sure I am 100% accurate, but the 2011-2012 SE came with a button on the shifter for what Ford calls "Drive with Grade Assist", SEL & Limited have the SelectShift, a thumb switch with +/- on the shifter for manual control. 2013 SE then changed to Selectshift. All 2.0 Ecoboost equipped Edges have the grade assist button (no selectshift), Sport models have Selectshift with paddles.
  9. It seems the transmission cooler is part of the A/C condenser, like the '08 Taurus I had before, online parts catalogue dies not show different condenser option which would mean it is the same for tow & non-tow packages. Note to OP, not having the tow package does not mean you cannot tow, the stock Edge without tow package is still rated to 2000lbs.
  10. Can't help you on the rafdiator swap or tranny cooling, but there is a difference in the electrical connections because the non tow package has a single 60A relay for both fans while tow package equipped vehicles have 2 40A relays, 1 for each fan.
  11. This is from an Explorer forum, but I believe the same can be installed on the Edge: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3262140#post3262140 In my opinion, the shark fin antenna would not look right at the front of the roof, unlike the Explorer that has it its antenna at the back. An alternative can be a stubby antenna. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/2292-stubby-antenna-install/
  12. The 2011+ Edge (and many other models) have what Ford calls "Smart Charging", the alternator output varies by design. See attachment for description. 2011 Ford Edge Sourcebook_Page8_Smart Charging.pdf
  13. Congrats on the new ride. Hope you enjoy a trouble free ownership.
  14. Thanks for the offer, I know that my vehicle is affected, the screenshot is for my VIN, I just erased it. Was wondering if there are any further details to the recall.
  15. The rear thump/bump was covered by a TSB for vehicle built before 4/15/2011. This thread. TSB 11-12-10.pdf
  16. Since the Mazda CX-9 shares the same platform & many components as the Edge/MKX, check out the latest news: http://www.autoblog.com/2014/02/17/mazda-cx-9-braking-nhtsa-probe/ Sound familiar??
  17. Today I found this under Outstanding Field Service Actions in Ford's Etis website: "13E04 - PCM CONFIGURATION ERROR", googling it I came up with the same number for a 2011 Explorer's Carfax report as a Manufacturer Emissions recall issued on 02/14/14. Can the ever so helpful members here get more details, thanks in advance, again.
  18. The 2011 Owner's Manual will refer you to the MyFord Touch supplement for the entertainment system. Anyway, it simply states to use them as you would normally do in Media mode! not very helpful. It is strange that when you press the tune + or - it will change presets only and not actually change frequency. Perhaps someone with a Ford Edge Limited can chime in & tell you if that's normal. Also, is you MyFord Touch updated? are on the latest version, 3.6.2?
  19. Yes you can. Since you have a Limited, I guess you also have the Sony system; you have 3 ways: Through the Tune+/Tune- buttons on the wheel/knob in the center of the console. The buttons are at the top & bottom of the wheel. On the center touch screen, in the Audio screen, when in radio mode, press the "Direct Tune" button on the right, this will enable you to directly input the frequency. Using voice commands, just say the frequency number.
  20. Attached is the PDF, TSB 11-2-3 is supposed to be for vehicles built between 7/12/2010 and 12/22/2010 & for the left hand side only. Attached is a scanned copy. TSB 11-2-3_scan.pdf
  21. If the FOB your referring to the original remote keyless entry fob, as ls973800 stated. You can also check the vehicles owner's manual & try to program the remote again. If it is the remote start FOB, I found this Programming Instruction manual that you can try.
  22. I believe the correct idle speed is 600 RPM the regular Edge & 640 RPM for the Edge with towing package. Since your in KSA, I think all Edges are equipped with the bigger radiator & cooling fans, so the idle should be 640. 1000 is wrong, take it to the dealer to have them check it out. Edit: Upon cold startup, the RPM might go higher for a few seconds, but afterwards it should go down to 600 or 640 RPM.
  23. OK, 1 more test. I removed the battery from the IA key, so the unlock button did not work & the Alarm could not be disabled using it. Having the IA key (without battery) in the backup slot will still enable you to start the engine but only if you unlocked the car using the keypad or another IA key. So for those who really want to keep an IA key in the car at all times, this might be a safer way than keeping a fully functional IA key that can disable the alarm.
