  1. There is also an extended warranty on the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module), which is the MyFord Touch module (with screen I think). The warranty is extended to 5 years from purchase date (6 years for Lincoln) regardless of mileage. Check this for more info: http://allstatetrucks.com/images/Recalls/R12M02%2011%20thru%2013%20Models%20with%20Sync%20and%20MyFord%20Touch.pdf
  2. It is in pages 192-193 of the owners manual under the "Transmission" section. You could also easily find it from the Index under "T - Transmission". I attached a copy of pages 192-193. A PDF copy of the manual can be downloaded from Ford's site for easy access. https://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePageVehicleLookup&BackToLogin=Owner/Page/OwnerGuidePage&ord=67673206 13edgom3e_Page_192-193.pdf
  3. I hope you get your Edge fixed soon, just note that in the Owners Manual, there is a procedure listed to shift out of park with a dead battery without having to jump start it.
  4. Check this post, your booster should have an extended warranty coverage. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13888-13n02-extended-warranty-coverage-on-brake-booster/
  5. Since the Fans are not working at all, I suggest you also check the cooling fan fuse/Relay in the Engine compartment fuse box.
  6. The 2.0 in the Fusion is considered as a Performance upgrade. Considering the weight of the Edge, it is NOT an upgrade in terms of performance. Since your looking for Performance, go for the V6.
  7. I am not 100% sure, but the steering wheel looks similar between the Explorer & Edge, so I would think they are the same. Check the below thread. In post #9, TheWizard explains how to remove the switch. Seems easy enough. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12632-right-blinker-wont-stay-on-possible-causes/
  8. When pulling the lever, do you get the High Beam indicator in the instrument cluster? If not, I would suspect its the switch, the lever itself. If your out of warranty, change the lever, it is relatively cheap (~ 30 USD). Here is one on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251469441032
  9. I would suggest checking your fuses first. Fuse number 39 (15A rating) in drivers side left kick panel fuse box is for the High Beams.
  10. You have High Beams (supposed to anyway). It uses the same HID light bulb, there is a shield in front of the HID bulb that creates the cut-off in the light beam pattern, when you turn on the high beams, a solenoid will move that shield thus letting more light out. To activate the High Beams, you pull on the turn signal lever. You should also hear a click or thud sound coming from the engine area when turning on/off the high beams, which is the sound of the solenoid.

A regular reset? Just disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes.
  12. I don't know why the MKX forum was created, but since both cars are basically the same, they should share a forum. Most info is related to both vehicles.
  13. That is smart unlock, a feature to help prevent being locked out of your vehicle. To bypass it, lock the car using the keypad by pressing the 9/0 & 7/8 buttons simultaneously. You can also use an another FOB to lock it. Note that there is a security issue by leaving you key inside, I have detailed it more in these posts I made earlier: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/14049-spare-key/?do=findComment&comment=108786 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/14049-spare-key/?do=findComment&comment=108877 Read the whole thread for more info.
  14. There is not supposed to be any link. If the headlights are on (manually or automatically via the light sensor), the high beams should turn on (and remain on) as long as the headlights are still on. For fog lights (on an MKX, the 2011+ Edge does not have them), they will turn off when the high beams are tuned on, but not the opposite (turning on the fog lights will NOT turn off the high beams). This is the normal operation, at least like what I have in my 2011 MKX. On an another note, checking the prices for the turn signal & high beam stalk, the 2011 & 2012 have a price, 2013 has a higher price, then 2014 has a different lower price. 2011/12 have the high beams operate by pulling to a 2nd indent, while 2013/14 have pull/push for flashing/turning on. So there is a chance that 2013 models have some errors and that would explain the change in the part.
  15. When you push the stalk forward, you mean towards the front of the vehicle, right? Pulling it will only flash the headlight. If you are actually pushing it forward, make sure you are not pushing it fast to the point that when the stalk s going back to its normal position, it might actually overshoot and go to the "pull" position (flash) causing the high beams to turn off. Hope you understand what I mean. If the above is not your case, and you are sure you are pushing the stalk forward (towards the front of vehicle), and the stalk is returning to normal position, yet the high beams are turning off, then you'll need to take your car to a dealer.
  16. When the voice is speaking, increase the volume using the volume knob or the volume buttons on the steering wheel.
  17. Actually it is of a concern. Many owners faced far more inconvenience, some reported that it would feel like being hit from behind, while others said it put them in a critical situation due to the vehicle not accelerating (being in neutral for a moment). It is to the point that the official repair involves modifications on the valve body.
  18. It doesn't necessarily mean all vehicles are having a problem, but anyway these are the TSB numbers: TSB 12-1-17 for Engine Ticking Noise, built on or before 1-May-2011. TSB 11-12-10_Tranny Harsh Bump, built on or before 15-April-2011
  19. Ok, just a note on the 2011, pre-May 2011 builds have 2 issues that are covered by TSBs', one related to the transmission and one to the engine. So I woud at least make sure it is a May 2001 build or newer.
  20. Of course newer is always better. It is the question of which is the better deal.
  21. If it is equipped with rain sensing wipers, there is a TSB for it, TSB 11-11-12 for replacing the sensor. I had it done to my 2011 MKX, and although it greatly reduced the phantom wipe, it still happens on rare occasions.
  22. I suggest you carefully read the warranty guide for your car as under the "EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE" of the Warranty Guide, "What is Covered?" it includes: Electronic Engine Control Unit (ECU)* And the footer: * Includes hardware and emissions related software changes only
  23. Do you have remote start? I would like to know if there would be a conflict between remote starting & the shock sensor (if starting engine would trigger the Alarm due to the shock sensor).
  24. Main Screen: Settings > Vehicle > Camera Settings > Rear Camera Delay > select "Off" Although I personally find it a very useful feature, not available in many other makes.
  25. Dealer is probably going to install this: http://accessories.ford.com/electronic-module-10669.html
