  1. Further to my earlier post, it seems from the technical specs of the 2015 Edge, that all 3 engines can be FWD or AWD. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/asset.download.document.pdf.html/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/2015_Specs/2015_Edge_Specs.pdf
  2. From the main article, in the OP: Edge equipped with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost can be specified with newly available all-wheel drive and a towing package capable of hauling a 3,500-pound trailer. & The available all-wheel-drive system for the new Edge is full-time, on-demand and seamless there are no knobs or switches to activate. An electronically controlled clutch, which can engage faster than a human can blink, transfers power between the front and rear axles, sending up to 100 percent of the power front or back. I didn't find anything on the 2.7 and AWD, but if they follow the same pattern as current the 3.5 Ecoboost, it would be an AWD only drivetrain for platforms with transverse mounted engines (FWD platforms such as the Edge's). Too much torque on a FWD vehicle is calling for trouble.
  3. From the left menu screen: Settings>Vehicle>Locks>Remote Unlocking> select All doors.
  4. The side windows on Limited & MKX (not sure of other Edge trims) have laminated windows on the front side doors for the sound isolation. I think the brand is SoundScreen and should be printed on it. As for heat causing pressure build up, cars already have pressure relief flaps.
  5. Factor99 is correct. Using metric fuel economy, it states how many litres used per 100 km driven, so when your not moving, guess how many litres it takes for you to drive 100 km? Infinite. So the gauge just defaults to 30 l/100km. Also, if you think something became weird after the k&n filter install, how was it beforehand?
  6. I believe a 2011 Limited should have the laminated side windows for the driver & passenger. As for heat, we have A LOT more heat & never face cracked windows.
  7. Ford is slowly improving newer models. For example, in my 2011 MKX, when selecting M mode, the gauge display will change to the round ROM display and remainthere even after returning to D mode. On a friend's 2013 Explorer, the display will return to the last display after returning to D mode. I noticed this change because I always get annoyed that I have to change back my display after a brief M mode I use at my Work's parking building.
  8. On a little related news, the 2.3 Ecoboost for the Mustang has been rated at 310 hp & 320 lbs-ft if torque. http://www.roadandtrack.com/go/news/ford-announces-official-2015-mustang-horsepower-ratings-ecoboost-v6-gt?src=spr_TWITTER&spr_id=1459_72569254
  9. They change, 2, 3, 4 or 5 depending on which menu your in. In the settings screen you'll see them the most.
  10. Don't know what they are called exactly, the inside plastic cover for the side view mirrors are made in a way that they have a pointing edge at the top which apparently will tear the weatherstrip. Its the same on both driver & passenger doors, but the marks are now more apparent on the passenger side. See attached images, hope they are clear. Was wondering if it is a design thing on all Edges/MKX or something is missing or misfit in my car.
  11. Not really a comparison, but the attached Order Guides might be useful for 2011-2014 years. 2011 Edge Order Guide.pdf 2012 Edge OrderGuide ver2.pdf 2013 Edge Order Guide.pdf 2014 Edge Order Guide.pdf
  12. 2011 & 2012 have 'M' mode, for manual control. Also, can you please point out the procedure for setting the height of the power liftgate?
  13. From the Owners Manual: Non-Ford approved chemicals or additives are not required for factory recommended maintenance. Infact, Ford Motor Company recommends against the use of such additive products unless specifically recommended by Ford for a particular application.
  14. It is a pre-production, the switch should not be there since paddle shifters are standard. The 'S' is for sport mode, already available in 2013 & 2014 Edge/MKX. Basically a different programmed mode for the tranny to hold gears more and shift at higher RPMs.
  15. First production 2011 Edge Sport & MKX had true dual exhaust from the factory. It changed sometime end of 2011 or beginning of 2012 to what they call "Quasi-Dual" Exhaust. Was discussed previously, like the below thread. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/9097-2012-ford-edge-sport-single-exhaust/
  16. Thanks for the video link. Blitz. At 1:09 the narrator states that the 2.7 Ecoboost pumps out nearly as much power as the current 3.5 Ecoboost and more than many V8s.
  17. Middle East Edge/MKX have the towing package and/or additional cooling or what Ford calls "high ambient, high speed package". And the fuel tank is 70 litres, it seems that Arabski refuels immediately after getting the low fuel warning.
  18. It seems that the speaker looking part is only to cover the available adaptive steering since the motor for it would be behind it: http://blog.caranddriver.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/AdaptiveSteering_img_1053.jpeg
  19. I don't think you can add a panoramic roof. Even if it was possible, it wouldn't be feasible, you would be far better off selling you car & buying one with the option.
  20. Yes they can be installed, plug & play. Just make sure you get similar mirrors with or without heated function as per your vehicle. You can simply change the mirror glass. Some more details were discussed in this long thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/2759-integrated-blind-spot-mirrors/
  21. There is a button to close the power lift gate inside the cargo area on the left side. http://avford.com/2012-antelope-valley-ford-models/ford-edge/images/design-4.jpg
  22. blitz, Yes, 350 lbs-ft is good. The Taurus SHO & MKS (Ecoboost) both weigh nearly as much as the current gen Edge Sport (~4450 Lbs) & can still run 0-60 mph in less than 6 seconds. Some reviews quoted as low as 5.2 seconds.
  23. For the 2.7, remember that the 2.3 Ecoboost in the MKC already makes 285hp & 305 lbs-ft of torque & in the Mustang its "over" 300 hp & lbs.-ft. The 2.7 should easily be more than both. On the other hand, Torque will NOT go beyond 350 lbs-ft. due to the transmission's limits. That's why the 3.5 was limited to 350 lbs-ft in FWD/AWD vehicles that used the 6F55 tranny (SHO/MKS/MKT/Explorer/Flex while it made 420 lbs-ft in the F-150 (RWD/AWD with a different tranny) & now 460 lbs-ft in the '15 Expedition/Navigator. Using simple (not accurate) estimates (hp/lbs-ft per liter) from the output figures of the 2.3 & 3.5: MKC 2.3: 285/305 == 2.7 estimated 334/358 (hp/lbs-ft). Expedition/Navigator 3.5: 380/460 == 2.7 estimated 293/354 (hp/lbs-ft). Mustang 2.3 expected 305/305 == 2.7 est. 358/358 (hp/lbs-ft). My best bet, for Torque, will be limited to 350 lbs-ft (due to tranny) while hp between 330 & 360.
  24. I live in Qatar, generally, in the Arabian Gulf countries, only gasoline/petrol engines are offered for passenger vehicles. So for the 2015 Edge, I expect we get the 3.5 & maybe/hopefully the 2.7 Ecoboost. The 2.0 is probably not coming since it is meant for Fuel Economy & here fuel is cheap plus the idea of a 4 cylinder Edge sized vehicle wouldn't be accepted. I personally hope the 2.7 Ecoboost would come, but only if it was as powerful as the older 3.5 Ecoboost (0-60 mph time of mid 5 seconds, like the SHO). Also, from what happened with the 2011 Explorer & 2013 Fusion, I also don't expect to get the 2015 Edge & that we'd only get it in 2016.
